  1. {Feel-good-0002006E} Very funny. Aint that the way it is lol!
  2. HappyinGreece, An excellent link thank you so much for that. I had been thinking of adding another parrot to my flock in the future but this has put me off somewhat. My grey is quite quiet, however I think that by adding another parrot to my household it would make for a lot of screetching, not sure I could cope with constant screeming lol! Karma to you.
  3. Okok, panic over (and I do feel a little foolish :blush: ) I saw the very same bird again today, this time a few doors away from my house, on the ground foraging and it WAS a woodpecker. I didn't know this but they have a yellow back, and a red head which of course I didn't see the other day as it was just landing and had it's back to me, all I saw was a whole lot of green & yellow and I guess being a parrot person thought it looked so much like one. A happy ending. Just glad I didn't call a vet :blush: :blush: :blush:
  4. I've been out in my garden a lot looking around because it was close to here but I haven't seen anythng, I will keep on the look out and maybe take a look around where I saw it. I won't stop looking for it. We are close to woodland here and at first I thought it was a woodpecker as they are green but it was too yellow - no way was it a British bird.
  5. Searching for images it would appear that what I saw was an amazon.
  6. Something has been bugging me since yesterday. I was driving towards my home and this beautiful green & yellow bird swooped down close to a garden and landed on a wheely bin - it was dustbin day lol, perhaps looking for food. I only saw the back of it as it was landing and the wings were partially folded. It looked nothing like any British bird I'd ever seen before and it was approx. CAG size, I couldn't help wondering if it was someone's missing parrot. How I wish I had stopped but it probably would have flown away anyhow. Would anyone have any idea what kind of parrot it might be? Is anyone missing a colourful bird in the UK?
  7. {Feel-good-0002006E} I love jayd's posts, they are always hugely entertaining and spock is one quality bird.
  8. After reading the excellent post on teflon-coated cookware, some of the comments following touched on electric fires. Now I am feeling ever so slightly paranoid. We have an electric (hallogen) fire which we use during the winter months, this fire is in Beau's room. Can anyone tell me if it is dangerous to him??
  9. Haha brilliant! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  10. Hi, does anyone know if it's ok to feed your grey beetroot? I know it's rich in B vits. Thanks.
  11. Haha Bernie, you are such a name dropper lol! Love the moon shots.
  12. Oh Diane, I'm so sorry for you. sending hugs your way. Don't lose hope.
  13. Hi shelly_quin, Ugggh looks gross lol, I'm no expert but I'd say this definately isn't normal especially as you say you haven't changed her diet. Strange though that it's only the morning poo that has changed. If it were me I'd get it checked out but if you'd rather speak to an expert on here they usually turn up later in the day - mid afternoon UK time. Good luck.
  14. Ahhhh and he looks so innocent....I don't believe you cait
  15. Beau loves Pinatas but I find them quite expensive considering they don't last very long and often the ready-filled ones contain stuff he doesn't particularly like, however I bought him a pack of four small party bags which was around half the price of a pinata, from my usual site (where I buy loads from including his Harrisons pellets) and bought some unsalted microwave popcorn and filled one of the bags whilst still warm, Beau went nuts for it. He hadn't had popcorn before so I wasn't sure he'd be interested. A great boredom buster ;-) anyway, here's the link for anyone interested: http://www.24parrot.com/product.asp?pf_id=37830&QSI=7d7227ac-05a3-4ef4-9fdb-effbed747f2a
  16. I've not noticed that Cait but when he gets stroked in that area and his skin gets stretched it gets bigger lol! :laugh:
  17. Why don't you get a shower screen?
  18. Thanks Natasha, that's very reasuring. {Feel-good-000200BB}
  19. I was just wondering if all parrots/greys have a small bald patch on the underside of their beaks as Beau does, he has had it since we bought him but I often wonder if it is normal as I assumed at the time. Thanks in advance.
  20. Yes, Happy Birthday Judy!:woohoo:
  21. No harness??? She is gorgeous!
  22. Aww Diane, everyone is with you on this, don't feel too down, put all your energy into finding Polly. Dan got lucky and you just might also. Keep your chin up and if you don't get her back in a few days you will have to go a little further afield but she can't have gone that far if she is clipped. It could've happened to anyone so please don't blame yourself. Thoughts & prayers xxx
