  1. Lol! No Jill, mine is rain-sodden ;-) We british don't have the luxury of putting our birds in the garden very often do we? Ecko is a great-looking grey for sure.
  2. What an excellent idea Caitlyn and what a cutie pie! I love outdoor pics of members' fids, they look even better against exotic backdrops - or maybe I'm just nosey and like looking at other people's gardens lol!
  3. What a relief for poor Marie. Maybe she'll get to enjoy her holiday now and be more able to relax.
  4. OMG Pat, your Harley is soooo beautiful if a little thin. Hey, if anyone can fatten him up you can! Pat, you are a walking, living bird sanctuary. Karma to you!
  5. I've only just seen this post and my first thoughts were "oh no, not again" because this happens all too often and all too easily. We cannot be too careful with our babies. Reading this is no use to you right now though, you need practical help. Have you enlisted friends and family living in and around your area to help you search? Many people can cover a large area. He can't have got that far if he is clipped. I hope little chikki is found asap. Keep on looking for him and don't give up, you are doing great with what you are doing so far. Please keep us posted.
  6. Oi! You speak for youself David!! Lol!
  7. I haven't yet reached my limit but my limit will be 2, due to mainly lack of space but also expense and work as others have mentioned. I decided against the conure because I truly have my heart set on a hahns macaw and I will wait until the time is right, I want to make sure that Beau is an established talker before adding another bird to the flock and of course I have to save up my money lol! Take a look at these and you will see why I'm hooked: Watch and fall in love lol!
  8. Hi Ian, welcome to the forum. Wow, you live in a beautiful place indeed! There are some experts on here who will be able to help you with your companion. Hopefully your grey will stay happy and healthy and there are many things you can to to help keep illnesses at bay, however I'm not sure what you would be able to do in case of emergency but having a pc will surely be a help to you.
  9. Lol Congratulations, I'm delighted for you! May you have a long and happy life together. X
  10. Thanks for the update Marie. I'm sure George will be just fine now he has settled. Go and enjoy your well-earned holiday.
  11. Oh Poppy, that's terrible! You must have been terrified and shaking too. Sounds like it happened in the best place though so you were very lucky there. I know it will be hard for you to "enjoy" your holiday under the circumstances but what can you do for George? He is in the best place and as others have said, he is only a phone call away. Please let us know any updates.
  12. Want my advice Judy? Don't bother. Can't see Beau being given another in the near future lol! Ended up I had to wash my cream-coloured curtains again which I'd laundered quite recently. Grrr
  13. Well yes that and the fact that he behaved himself until "the honeymoon was over" and now it seems he is a  to live with. He does seem to know a lot about it don't you think?
  14. LOL! Dan sounds like you are talking from experience there.
  15. LOL Jill, I do sympathise. Guess it must be their age eh?
  16. Oh yeah I can relate to that Jill lol! Guess I'm lucky that Beau doesn't like strawberries or raspberries and his table manners are pretty good with cherries but give him pomegranite and...
  17. Can't wait to see the pics. Conrats on having your lil darlin' home at last.
  18. Wow, I can actually say that there's been NO rain here today. No that wasn't a typo it's true lol!
  19. What is it about pomegranite that brings out Beau's artistic streak? He suddenly thinks it's a great idea to re-decorate the house in red dots! The bl@@dy stuff gets everywhere and there was I thinking I was being clever by protecting the carpet with newspaper. Grrr
  20. Thanks for the replies, I will post again as soon as I have more info.
  21. Thanks Judy, that's good that you can feed them the same. I was wondering what questions I should ask and how to tell the age just to be sure I'm getting the bargain I think I am lol! Maybe others on here have a green conure. I've seen pics of hahns and conures resting in a peron's hand and they look very similar in size to me but I guess I won't really know until I see it for myself. Waiting is tough though eh?
  22. Oh I forgot to add; is there a way to tell if the conure is young?
  23. Hello Lindsey and welcome to the forum. It seems that Virginia is an AG hotspot
