1. Continuous shots of Koko flying to the bar. Take 1.
2. Took some photos this morning. Fish watching (at home).
3. I notice Koko likes to drop her stainless steel bowl on the floor on purpose. Whenever I made fruit enzymes to drink, Koko would fly to my shoulder asking for her share. I would put a little in a bowl and placed it on the fridge. After finishing the enzymes, Koko would pick the bowl up and walked to the edge of the fridge and dropped it on the floor. She seems to enjoy listening to the 'clang' sound when the bowl hit the floor. What a naughty bird.
4. Congratulations on your boy.B)
5. In my country, the whole school was closed if 1 student was found infected with swine flu.

7. I had no handfeeding experience when I bought my Grey at 3 months old. I used a spoon instead of a syringe. I hand fed her 5X a day until she reached 6 months old. I stopped hand feeding until she refused to be hand fed at 9 months. She is about 14 months now and is not wing clipped.
8. Petrol is RM1.80 or about $0.50 per litre in Malaysia. A dollar for dollar it is considered expensive.
9. I went to see pets exhibition this noon at a mall. Nothing interesting though. I was expecting more parrots. Just managed to take a few pics there.
10. Happy birthday to America and to all fellow American members of the forum. My daughter's birthday falls on this auspicious day too.
11. Scratching the floor of the cage's corner with a foot indicates the Grey wants to be out. Koko always does that when she wants out.

Weening

Koko was still being formula fed 4-5X a day at 6 months old.
13. As usual, this morning Koko followed my wife going upstairs. I went to shower (downstairs) a few minutes later. I could hear Koko chattering happily upstairs. In the middle of my shower, I heard Koko was chattering downstairs and then within a minute she was up again. When I came out from my shower, I asked my wife what happened. My wife said Koko flew down looking for me. As Papa was nowhere to be seen, she made a flight up again to be with Momma. WOW! This is the 1st time Koko made a 2-way flight. {Feel-good-000200BB} This incident happens a moment ago. (8:25pm) Koko was preening on her perch (downstairs). My wife (upstairs)came out from shower and was whistling. Koko heard her whistle and flew up looking for her. She perched on the wall fan. After drying her hair, my wife asked Koko to step down. Koko refused and my wife turned the room light off. Then Koko flew all the way down.
14. Why don't you install a curtain and keep the wings?
15. Not sure where to post this. I guess this is the right place. This video is taken from a local TV program. Forget the alien language. Just sit back and enjoy watching the birds. http://pet-cockatiel.com/wonderful_life_care_birdfarm.html

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/07/01 02:45
16. I used to sweep the floor once every 7 days but now I have to do it 7X every day.
17. I thought they will get lighter as they grow older. Most of the adult birds I've seen in the shops are more towards silver in color.
18. Koko has yet to damage any expensive items in the house. This is what I call collateral damage if we own a grey. I think my house is going to collapse one day. Telephone main cable. Telephone wire. Picture frame. Kitchen cabinet. Fridge top. Handrail of staircase. Staircase wooden step. Window frame.

Post edited by: dhorje, at: 2009/06/30 10:10

20. Do you guys bath your grey's under wing?

picnic

We took Koko out for a picnic this morning. The place was about 30 minutes drive. Since today is a Sunday, it took us more than 30 minutes because the place was crowded. Traffic was bit heavy. This stream is a favorite picnic spot among the locals. My wife and Koko. Koko relaxing on the mobile chair. I brought her stand along. On the way home, we stopped by a fruit stall. Koko is enjoying durian, king of fruits. Yummy yummy. I know most of you hate the pungent smell of the king of fruits. But the locals love it. Durian, king of fruits. Koko was so tired. She fell asleep almost immediately when we reached home.
22. Mine is 13 months old and yet to talk other than Hello and Good.
