This is a subject very close to me as my Cockatiel Cracker was very ill at 4 months old with this and it took very quick intervention by me and a dedicated vet and his team to save him. Penny .charlie is almost 7 and I have to say that over the last 12 months his distructive behaviour has got much worse.I think as they get older they do become more distructive. I have a feeling it is hormonal to a degree.Like Rikki charlie can be so sweet and then turn in to the bird from hell.My couch has taken a right chewing and he is now srarting on the rug. I think Rikki may be a bit jealous of Nilah which is not helping.Try giving a bit more 1 on 1 time and see if it helps.I have a pan on the couch at the moment but now need something diferent as Charlie has become acustomed to it.

I am knitting some leg warmers for little Cracker, his legs get cold of a night lol

It is wonderful to see them looking so well.You really pulled all the stops out to help them and they are looking great.You are doing right to give them a rest after being so ill.

Yoshie will be fine Jess.They do become part of the family and it is hard to leave them for a while but come Monday you will have her back

I am from uk and pet shops do often sell large parrots. The one where I got Cracker sells greys, cockatoos and amazons. As Caroline said they are usually high in price.He hand rears some baby birds and although I think the shop is not of a high standard some of the birds are gorgeous. He also takes in parrots to sell for people who dont want them any more.

It could always be an error and they mean 12 months old,I doubt a 12 week old grey is talking. In any case it is not responsable to advertise any animal as a Christmas present. My advise is to ignore this advert and the company.
