This is the best news I've heard all week I so happy I could almost cry. I glad he's got his appetite back and his breathing is back to normal these are great signs.Don't forget to keep us updated on the test results next month I bet you'll find that the tests come back negetive for asperilos (Can't spell sorry)any way thats what I'll be praying for. Thats great that you have brought your new baby home. Don't before you know it she will be comfortable and eating you out of house and home. Enjoy her and if you want you can help the process along by giving her lots of treats and talking to her she will soon warm up to her new surroundings then Zel and you will be the best of friends in no time how old is Zel is she an older bird or just a baby?

Good point Dan I guess thats why I prefer to spend time with my birds.

Its so hard for non bird people to understand how we could love these little balls of feathers so much that we would do just about anything to make them happy and healthy and content. I would rather be with my birds then my friends.

Both of those birds are just absolutly gorgous. I love toos butthe dander doesn't like me I'm very alergic to their dander. I rescued one about 1 !/2years ago and He was just the sweetest thing he was a Sulfer crested. He also didn't like my daughter or mabie he liked her to much he would bite her every chane her got and she would scream because it hurt so bad. I hehomed him to another woman who had lost her sulfer crested Male the year before and really wanted another one.

My plate is also fulL I have my 5 and thats my limit no more I don't have anymore room for anymore monster cages so thats it for me Con grate on your cockatoos.

What excelent news I soso happy happy happy try to keep that little brat at home these little trips he takes every now nd then are very hard on the nerves he going to turn your hair white as snow:laugh: Sorry to here about his tail feathers but least he managed to escape thats a smart little bird you have there. It sounds like hes very happy to be home and back where he belongs hopefully he will have 2nd thoughts next time. Give him a kiss for me and spoil him rotten for the next few days. I'm so glad all is the way it should be again.

I cannot beleive she would allow other birds or people into her aviary. Most good breeders have closed aviary. Its just to easy for the birds to get some kind of disese most bird sicknesses are airborn I certinaly would take one of my birds to a place like that.

I'd love to get one for my birds but I ha no Idea where I would put it I'm running out of ceiling space with all the stuff they all ready have i guess I could move some of the furnature so then I could put it up we shall see mabie for my birthaday in August I'll get one for them my birthday presant will be to watch them play on it:laugh:

Lots of praise everytime she does it. It didn't take long once she got the hang of it. Now every time I raise my hand she knows that means I want her to fly to me. She likes doing now she thinks it's a game. I think as long as you make it enjoyable for them they learn allot faster.

That video took me 6 hours. but now that I know how next time will take me 2 minutes. what a task when you don't know how.

Your so lucky to have found such a well socialized Grey It very true that some rehomed Greys take a long time to adjust. It all depends on what there previous home was like, how many times they have been rehomed, and of course the age of the Grey. Tyco was 4yrs old when I got her she had been rehomed 3 time and was totally neglegted with her previous owner. So she had no social skills or anything when she came to me just allot of bagage to work through, It took me 7 months to get her to where she is which I think is a very shourt time concidering what her life was like before I took her in. She steps up, she allows me to give her scritches and kisses she eats everything I give her she loves her pellets. I think all and all she is a pretty good bird now. she still has a few minor things to work out bt everyday she gets better and better. What I'm saying here is not all rehomed parrots are going to be a problem some will fit into their new homes like they have always been there.

I would say its her way of trying to get their attention when she's outside the people are far enough away so she doesn't feel threatened and i would say she wants them just to say hello or make some kind of look towards her so she knows she got the attention.

Your not crazy thats exactly what Echo had planned they are really smart that way Adaya does that all the time when her toys get pushed to far away from the perch. Tyco just loves those vine balls I buy her 6 at a time at the dollar store 2.00 each she makes tooth picks out of them in 1 hour flat an what a mess oh well she has fun and thats all that counts.<br><br>Post edited by: Tycos_mom, at: 2009/06/05 20:00

I could have a feild day on that site Nick I love the sticker that says This car is protected by an African Grey Congo.
