  1. Thanks Melissa for the pictures of the eclipse, it was not visible here for it was too cloudy to see it, good job as always.
  2. They were all good and here is the link to view them http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-photography-room/58890-closed-vote-now-closed.html Enjoy!!!
  3. Philodendron is listed as a toxic plant so therefore is not safe, keep it away from your grey, you wouldn't want to take the chance.
  4. I hope it does help with the plucking but her stress needs to be dealt with also, keep us informed as to whether it helps or not, still looking forward to seeing some pictures when you can.
  5. If he's not he should be Ronda, You two women still crack me up:laugh:
  6. I wonder if Rickster will give us an update on this grey of his, I'd like to know how things are going now that it has been several weeks.
  7. Don't worry needlessly, Josey shakes her head from time to time and sometimes it is right in a row of shakes, like your book said there is a feather tickling her ear hole or something like that.
  8. That is so sad that she was abused but glad you could give her a good home and it is hard to tell whether or not that has anything to do with her behavior.
  9. Watching movies with my birds. What is one thing you would change about yourself if you could?
  10. Like the tail feathers they don't molt out all at once, usually just a few at a time but some should be showing themselves by now. Would help if we could see a picture of the wings preferably spread out so we can see them better!! I wouldn't go to that vet again if he did trim them back too far, was it an avian vet or just a regular vet?
  11. I guess it is just like the other species, you have some that will and some that won't, it would be my luck that the one I got would and big time.:pinch:
  12. I wouldn't call it sad, my birds make me dang happy, my kids were married and gone by the time I got my birds and my hubby has been around so long that he is like a piece of furniture.
  13. They are cute but maybe I should just stop with what I got because Josey is relatively quiet but Sunny can scream sometimes and once in a while she does it right in my ear (ringing):pinch: :pinch:
  14. Its kind of robotic sounding but yes I see some real talkers coming soon, can't wait to see what their first clear words are:)
  15. Bring us another picture if you can, we love seeing her too.
  16. You got that right Ronda, perfect, just perfect!!! Heh heh heh:laugh:
  17. The oldies rock and roll What type of music do you listen to?
  18. Tari wrote: Now I see where this could be a real problem if the power was out or the phones didn't work, that poor bird. Thankfully Josey will poop in her cage:P
  19. Thats me too, I come home from work and come into the family room where my birds are and my hubby is usually there too, I don't say a word to him but go over to Josey and Sunny first thing, hubby gets ignored, I have my priorities straight:lol:  B)
  20. My mistake but then Mineral Wells is not that far from Ohio, I may still check you out, thanks for the info.
  21. Hello Melissa and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Piper. I commend you on adopting an older grey and a rehomed one at that, there are so many out there that need good homes and I am glad that this one now has a loving home. We do have a lot of threads that deal with the issue of plucking, just do a search and you will find them, but read thru as many of the threads for lots of useful information on all aspects of greys. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Piper you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
  22. Hello Janice and welcome to the family, glad you could stop in and very happy you decided to join us, you will love it here. Ronda has had nothing but nice things to say about you and your business and with your disorder it makes perfect sense to have gone into bird breeding, you don't have to leave home for that. I know Ronda wished she had found you before she purchased her grey but now that she has Sweetheart she couldn't do without her now. Just whereabouts is Milford in WV, I have a son that lives in Mineral Wells and we go visit him from time to time on weekends and I may want to come by and visit to see your birds, I live in VA. You are welcome to read thru the threads but I doubt you need any information from us with the experience you have, you could probably teach us a few things. If you have some pictures you would like to share with us we would love to see your birds.
  23. I'm sorry you felt that you had to shorten your plans, if the neighbors can handle one week they could handle two weeks just as easily but the decision is yours to make of course. You must be flying out on my birthday since it is the only Friday the 13th of the whole year, don't let it bother you, it is just another day of the year, nothing bad is going to happen. He will be fine for a week, heck he will be fine for two weeks too, I bet it is you that will be missing him more than him missing you, am I right or what!!!
