  1. Laurie should be back anytime now, she is off on a cruise, I hope she was able to stay with not smoking, I'm sure we will hear from her any day now. Good for you Imme for deciding to quit and I hope you are successful this time.
  2. Glad to hear it Jeff and you are in for a lifetime of happiness with this precious grey in your life now.
  3. BMustee wrote: Been there and done that too!!!
  4. Thats hilarious Sandra but very true:silly:
  5. Thats funny Sandra from another gray haired lady but thanks for helping out but the one that posted this thread already has a grey now, and thanks for the recommendation for anyone else needing it.
  6. My biology teacher, he was sexy looking and a lot of fun in class. Did you ever have a crush on any of your teachers?
  7. Put the toy close by but not in the cage for a few days if necessary and then bring closer until he is used to it's presence and then you can hang it in his cage. Some of them take a few days to a week or more to get used to a new toy, just take it gradually or you will frighten him with it and he may never like it.
  8. I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall for that one, can you imagine how hilarious that would have been to watch:laugh: Think of it like this you have a wonderful new security system, instead of beware of the dogs, its beware of the parrots:laugh:
  9. Then mine probably didn't either, makes sense since they are babies unless there was some reason to suspect something.
  10. Glad to hear it Icerat4:) :)
  11. I didn't know that, and I don't know whether my vet checked Josey's blood pressure but I will ask, learn something new here every day even for an old person like me.
  12. Hello Jan and welcome to the family, you will learn your way around her quickly I am sure, if I can get the hang of this then anyone can as I am an old fogey. We all share the same thoughts of greys being amazing creatures and we don't know how we got along without them before we brought them into our life. Do you have any other parrots or birds? Most of us have more than one and a few of us have more than one grey, we just can't stop adding to the joy. If you are looking for advice you have come to the right place, we have many threads that are full of useful and helpful information, just read thru at your leisure. Ask questions that you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Tobie you would like to share with us we would love to see him.
  13. Jenna is a lovely baby grey, don't those dark eyes just make you melt at the sight of her, thanks Raposa for sharing it with us:)
  14. I'm going with female, Berna, and that is my final answer:P
  15. BTW Dan, how is the progress of Dayo talking coming along, don't you hold out on us, you hear:huh: :silly:
  16. You should do fine with the handfeeding since you have done it before so congrats on bringing home a Tag and glad we could be of some help to you in your decision. A new baby does bring the home to life with the sounds, silence can be so depressing when you are missing a loved one. Please do contribute to the site, join in the fun and share your stories of your new Tag with us and keep us updated with the progress and we want pictures, please:)
  17. Not sunny today, calling for snow or rain by the end of the day, rather it be snow but you take what you get on hump day at 10:25 am, over and out:lol:
  18. The only sport I played was chasing boys and the one I caught is still with me, can't get rid of him for some reason:laugh: Did you have a favorite teacher in school?
  19. Isn't that the way it always is Ronda, just like a kid, the more I hear about these quakers the more I want one, a blue one:whistle:
  20. Well then Barney can teach Freddie to talk if he talks first, keep us updated we want to know who talks first.
  21. I hear ya on the parrot behavior over the kids, its like that sometimes. I hope hers don't molt out and she keeps em.
  22. Finnigan is so adorable, Christina, and no wonder you are so proud of her and she has some of that red factor to her too on her legs and lower chest area. Those are beautiful shots and I would hang them up too, not take the kids pics down but find a spot she can have all her own, thanks so much for sharing these with us, I love them:) :)
  23. Yvette, patience is your best friend right now, you cannot rush a relationship with a grey, it takes time to build the trust necessary to form a lasting bond with him. I would still allow him to come out of the cage, he needs time out to socialize with the family, maybe you can offer him some kind of treat to get him back in when it is time. Don't worry about his not talking, if he was talking before he will more than likely talk again but when he feels more comfortable in his new home, you have only had him a short time. Talk to him a lot and include him in conversations to help him be more at ease with you and other family members, but remember it takes time and more so since he is older so be very, very patient. Others will chime in with additional advice but the two words that you will see the most are "time" and "patience":P
  24. Congrats to all the winners, they were all good photos but I have to admit that Joe's pic of the bear had my vote as soon as I saw it, what an exciting experience to have seen that in the wild of Alaska, great job everyone!!! :) :)
  25. Tracy do you know whether Soldier used to talk at one time before he came to you, if so he may one day talk again, I hope so.
