1. Kimmie if you would share some of the pictures of your baby we would love to see them. BTW I also have a sun conure about 3 years old.
2. Yes we here know about the dangers of Teflon poisoning and I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Charlie due to that very thing. This is why it is important to read all you can about greys and also another reason to belong to a forum like this one. You will find Teflon mentioned in many threads here on this forum, it is too bad that you did not find us sooner for Charlie could still be with you right now. Please accept my condolences for your loss and know that by posting here you may have saved another grey from the same fate.
3. I'll just bet it has resolved itself by now, Josey does the same thing and it takes her a bit to finally get it back in alignment.
4. Me too Terri, we can't let this slip away, feel free to pm me also, this is important to keep going.
5. Lisa I need a life, I spend way too much time on this site but I love it here so what can I say.
6. Well Lisa you sure know your birds, I am impressed to say the least!!! you go girl:P
7. That sounds like a wonderful game to play, I will have to try that with Josey, you didn't happen to catch it on film did ya, that would be hilarious to watch. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Post edited by: judygram, at: 2008/02/19 04:37
8. Hello Raposa and welcome to the family of greyt owners, glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey addition to your flock. Yes we understand your excitement of bringing your baby grey home and we felt the same way, you can hardly contain yourself and April 19 seems like a lifetime away. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your eclectus right after Christmas but sadly these things happen but we move on and now you are opening your heart to a grey. You have chosen wisely in my opinion and you will have a lifetime of joy and companionship from this addition. Please take a few moments and read some of the many threads for lots of useful information and we love questions so ask us anything at all. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Jenna you would like to share with us we would love to see her.
9. Darn Lisa, you're good, real good, way to go girl, the rest of us never had a chance did we, jeez!!!!!!
10. Just keep in mind that even though it is going good for you right now sometime in the future you will get bit but don't fear it, I don't think he would ever rip a finger off but he could rip off a little flesh for it. Just pay attention to his body language and you can avoid most of them.
11. Ian has already started another guess it photo here is the link to it: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/other-birds/60881-what-about-this-one-then.html#60881
12. Thanks Tracy, I left this for you to answer since you are the expert here on food.:cheer:
13. If you have to go thru the room that is ok just don't go up to her cage or acknowledge her in any way. Just go about your business and ignore her. We don't like to cover them up during the day, just at night, just ignoring them is punishment enough, they hate being ignored.
14. Wow that was wonderful that she did so well during your party, I am glad it all worked out for you. And I am sure that laying ground rules about keeping the distance was a big help to her and to you. Thanks for the vote of confidence, we won't let you down for usually someone on here has the answer to just about any question that is thrown our way. Now when are you having another party?
15. Bring em on Ian, we love a challenge, don't we girls!!!
16. To answer the picture problem, try putting the photos on a hosting site like www.photobucket.com you can resize them there and either put the photo itself or the link to the pic. I don't want to see you have to find her another home, I think we can come up with a solution to your problem and then both of you will be happy. One suggestion is when you do a time out do not cover the cage, all you really need to do is turn your back on her and walk away. Also if you are reacting to the noise she views that as entertainment and will continue to do it for the reward it gives her. Only come to her when she has been quiet for a time, let her know that silence gets results not noise and I think the noisy sessions will lessen in time. Some of the members do use the full spectrum lighting so if you want to try that by all means do so, it can't hurt except for the wallet. If you haven't already, read as many of the threads here that you can, you will find a lot of useful and helpful information that may help you find a solution.
17. Thanks Tari, I do have a sun conure and she can be sweet as sugar but she has a mean streak in her also. She has taken a disliking to one of my granddaughters and she will lunge at her if she comes anywhere near her. She did bite her on her lip one time and scared the bejebbies out of her but left no scar. She is really possesive of me if she is on my shoulder and that is where she is the most dangerous. Most people cannot get her off of me if she is there, but she cuddles up to me and kisses me but don't let Jesse, my granddaughter get close or she will lunge for something to grab onto. Her wings are clipped but she can still glide and hover easily but I have never had her actually fly at and try to bite anyone like yours does Christina. Has anything happened to cause this aggression, I ask because Sunny was fine with Jesse until she came over to me while Sunny was on my shoulder and tried to get a kiss from her like I had just done and she took offense, I guess she thought Jesse wanted to take her away from me and she was not having any of it. My advice is continue to work with her and see if it improves with time, but like Tari said she needs a forever home, she has been passed around and she probably feels like she will be here for a while and then off to another place, she needs some stability right now.
18. This is so sad Christo but you are doing all you can to make him as comfortable and happy for whatever time he has left, you have such a good heart. Even though you don't have many avian vets, I would seek out another one, this woman does not have what it takes to be a good one with birds. As far as his singing, as long as he seems to be ok and is bringing joy to you I think he is happy and you will know in your gut when the time is right to make another decision. My heart goes out to you and I will say a little prayer that he does not suffer any pain, god bless you Christo.
19. Ronda, check out the local Walmart for the juice, thats where I got mine and I know you have Walmarts there in your area, I have been to them, LOL!!!!!! Will be coming up again soon, maybe in the next couple of weeks, maybe we could meet and do lunch.
