  1. That is a very nice looking bird cage, it looks almost too pretty to put a bird in, thanks for sharing a pic of it with us, would be interested in seeing the final product when finished.
  2. I don't know who was enjoying that session more, Dayo or Kim, they were both really into it, yes they are fast and Dayo was true to form, thanks for sharing that with us Dan.
  3. I'm glad that Indy is home safe and sound and he is a nice looking grey, some just do not like much snuggling but it could be it just takes a little more time for him to feel comfortable with you so just be patient. Thanks for sharing those pics with us and feel free to post more when you feel like it, we enjoy looking at pics.
  4. Oh you have an absolutely adorable Tag Robert, he/she is so cute that I want to just grab and squeeze, thanks for finally figuring out the posting photos part and sharing some pictures with us. I love the first pic, it looks like Shadow is one legged, I'm guessing female.
  5. Be careful of giving her too much cheese and make it cheddar cheese. That is a sticky situation to change her paper without disturbing the egg, very carefully is my best guess. Do keep us informed of any new developments like another egg and maybe some of the other members will have some ideas for you too.
  6. Dave has brought up some good points with his post Kyle, and I agree with him that it may be in your future grey's best interest to wait a while before getting one. I know you have wanted one for a long time but what is a few more years as you are only going on 19 years of age. When you are the only one in your house then that grey has to depend on you and you only for its care and attention. I do not believe you would be able to provide enough time and attention right now and I have to think about the grey's needs and not yours right now. Face it, being single you will have as social life that will take you out of your house a lot and school obligations and with only you to provide for your grey I think he/she will suffer from too much time spent by itself and develop bad behaviors. I know you would not want that for your grey and if you wait until you know you can provide the time necessary for a healthy relationship then it will be for the best. You are a young man with a whole life ahead of you, take a few years to enjoy some life, make friends, date and finish your schooling and then get a grey when you know you are ready for it for it is a lifetime committment.
  7. Aww, he is a cutie all right, and glad to hear he took the trip just fine, you did all the right things and he is so sweet looking, thanks for sharing a pic of him with us, now have you decided on a definite name yet?
  8. I like the name Shanti, it is not a gender specific name so I am glad he is getting to keep it.
  9. Sounds like your Tag is settling in nicely and I can't wait to see some pictures when you can manage it.
  10. That is too funny and you know I wonder how many other greys out there are copying that same commercial, just how many greys are quacking like a duck. I haven't heard Josey do a turkey call yet but it is not for lack of hearing it.
  11. Oh my, your he is really a she, now we are getting somewhere. I would imagine she was pulling those feathers out of her chest for padding for the egg. It is perfectly normal for a female to lay an egg even if they don't have a male with them, the egg just won't be fertile. I would just leave the egg with her as she may lay another or two and then leave them for about 28 days then remove them and whatever she used for a "nest" to discourage her from doing it all over again. I can imagine you are shocked that you thought you had a he and now you know you have a she but she is just doing what comes naturally but you want to discourage any further egg laying as it will deplete her calcium levels.
  12. Thanks for sharing some more pictures of Fred, he looks like he is enjoying that toy very much.
  13. Hello Danielle and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Gandalf. He looks like a handsome fella from the picture you shared with us and that is funny you call him "big bird" and I bet he is quite some character. That is so sad that he came from a home where they didn't know how to properly take care of him, no wonder you say he is not the nicest bird, who would be if you had to put up with what he did but now he has found a good home where he gets what he needs. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and please do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
  14. If you are unsure how to post photos here I have included a link that may help you with that: http://www.greyforums.net/faqs/page_2.html
  15. Darwin is absolutely adorable and thanks for sharing some very cute pictures with us.
  16. The Perfect Storm - Mark Wahlberg
  17. Yes Fred is adorable and he looks very healthy, thanks for sharing some pictures of him with us.
  18. Plus you never have to worry about HIM laying eggs!
  19. I know this is off the topic but cute dogs especially the last shot, thanks for sharing them with us.
  20. I know my two birds are company for each other during the day while I am gone if for no other reason than for Josey to tell Sunny to shut up when she screams which she does even if we are home.
  21. He is finally home, see I told you it would be soon, now I want to hear details, how did the trip go, how has he settled in so far, is he as adorable and sweet as you expected? Please don't hold out on us now and we want pictures too. B)
  22. Dan is right, greys do need time to settle in and feel comfortable and they are usually more receptive to being held on your lap late in the evenings when they are tired and right before bed. Continue to do what you are doing and with some time he will want to be around you more but he has to check out his new digs and he feels safer in his cage right now so that is why he flies back to it. I know we will hear more of his progress from you and look forward to seeing more pictures too.
  23. Poor Jac, he has been thru a lot and no wonder he is in a bad mood, I would be too if in his situation, but knowing Marguerite I am sure Jac will be his old self again soon. Thanks for letting us know how he is.
  24. Hello Sarah and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Perrin. Have you had Perrin all of those 6 years? You came to the right place looking for other bird friends and having some fun so you will fit in nicely here with the other grey nuts. Please read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of Perrin you would like to share with us we would love to see them.
