  1. Is he where he is with the family when you are home? Is he there close by when guests are there? They like to be a part of the flock and be in the middle of everything, maybe he feels left out and so he is vocal about it.
  2. Thats great that she went all day without pooping on you, she knows what is expected of her and she may make a mistake now and then but you have done a great job in training her to poop on command.
  3. Thats sad that the cage arrived in that condition but I hope you get some satisfaction from the seller. I look forward to seeing some pictures when you get the parts replaced.
  4. Thats true Shelia but an outside place where they can get some fresh air and sunshine would be so beneficial to them the extra work would be worth it.
  5. Is this the Tag you mentioned in the thread about the cage?
  6. Since this is for a Tag I would go with the first one with the 3/4 inch bar spacing.
  7. I assume you just bought an african grey?
  8. Ok I am going to try to answer as many as I can but others will be along shortly to help you too. 1. My Josey is skittish too, it doesn't take much to scare her and I guess that is just the way she is and maybe yours too. 2. Josey also does most of her talking on her perch, she is quiet when she is sitting on my shoulder or elsewhere, that is probably true of most greys. 3. You should ignore the loud behavior so as not to reward it by giving some kind of response to it, he might interpret that as attention. 4. That biting might be because he is grouchy from the molting, the new pin feathers tend to be uncomfortable and also maybe he doesn't want you touching him at certain places or at certain times. 5. I am not sure about how long a molt lasts, I guess it can vary from bird to bird. 6. When potty training you have to use the same word all the time and praise him when he does it but right as he does it, if you wait or hesitate any he will not associate it with the pooping. Others might have more suggestions on that. 7. Oh I think he likes you, just because he reacts differently on different days only means he has bad days along with good days just like we do. Sometimes all we want is to be left alone.
  9. That first cage you listed a link for is big enough for a grey, if you like one of the ones on the second site you listed be sure to get one just as big for they need the room to be able to flap their wings and not touch the sides. I am especially fond of the ones with playtops.
  10. Three babies and a fourth coming soon, I know I have enjoyed watching this unfold, congrats Dave on the 3rd one, fourth one still to come.
  11. I guess that was a blow to his ego Pat but Darius will get over it, it is funny how they can get a little tiffed but at least it was not directly at you.
  12. I really don't know as I have never had tiels before but if one of them is pulling the other's feathers then I would separate them for the time being. Maybe someone else who knows about tiels will chime in with their suggestion.
  13. I have one idea for the room, why not hang those bead curtains in the doorways, that way you can go thru them easily but the birds won't be able to fly thru them. They can still see you with them up and you can see and hear them so if anything happens that you need to intervene. There are some interesting ones out there on the market that would probably go good with the room, just google it on the internet.
  14. Cracker is cute sitting there enjoy the aviary, makes me wish I had one for my two birds, thanks for sharing it with us Shelia.
  15. Thats wonderful Mark, he sounds like a wonderful bird.

    Turkey bones

Thanks Dave for answering that question, I wasn't sure about them but figured they would be harder to break than chicken bones.
  17. They need a big cage, he will have plenty of room to flap his wings in it.
  18. Josey rides very well, we go on trips to visit my son and they are 4+ hours one way and she plays and rings her bell and has taken to talking some on the trips but Sunny is different. I don't like to take her on long trips as she doesn't take it as well, even throwing up a couple of times but shorter trips she handles better.
  19. Henry is adorable and give him some time to settle in and feel comfortable in his new home and be careful of standing on chairs:pinch: thanks for sharing the pictures with us Mark.
  20. I wouldn't have believed it if you hadn't provided a picture Julie, that is hilarious and so funny, wonder if he accidently rings himself during the night, thanks for sharing that with us, seeing is believing.
  21. Dan is so right, you need to establish you are the flock leader and you dictate what goes on in your household. He is asserting his independence by biting you but if you use the techniques that Dan gave you then the problems should decrease or stop all together. I sum it up in one word, you have a male.  :silly:
  22. Yes most greys get a little grumpy when molting, those pin feathers do not feel very comfortable so they are more prone to bite, just give them a little more time for the process to finish and then you will have your sweet bird back again.
  23. officialmark wrote: Yes Shelia Henry is home and doing fine, we are waiting to see some pictures now.
  24. You better believe it Dan, Charlie knows he is King in Shelia's household but it is good to see them both sharing the playstand, now if only I could get Josey and Sunny to do the same, oh well. Thanks for sharing that pic with us.
  25. Yes I would agree Sanggay they are better and I have never seen a playstand like that one before, you may have to cover it with something to make it easier to climb on but then maybe not, thanks for sharing the clips and pic with us.
