  1. That was very cute Lyn of Alfie going after that lego, she was determined that toy was not going to get the better of her, thanks for sharing that with us.
  2. He is so cute there waiting on the sun to come up, like he is saying its too early for pictures, thanks for sharing a pic of him with us.
  3. Its mainly not the trucks but the people who have to move those heavy boxes, they throw them around and its a wonder they aren't damaged more than they are.
  4. I would be careful of those glass bowls, she might not be taking them out now but if she ever did and broke it then you could have a disaster on your hands, better to have extra stainless steel bowls that you can switch out.
  5. You have just joined the best source of information about the greys right here, just read thru the many threads and you will find just about everything you need to know and what you don't find just ask.
  6. Well with that attitude how can you not love him, you are right, every bird has the potential to be a good bird, you just have to have the patience and will to work with them and you have certainly shown that. I think we are going to be hearing more good things about Ceasar.
  7. Sometimes it is better to be safe than sorry, its a small price to pay for your peace of mind, let us know what you find out.
  8. Now isn't that the cutest thing, Argyle looks so sweet there in his snuggie, thanks for sharing that with us.
  9. Happy Hatchday Talon, big 4 today, make mommy get you lots of toys and things at the bird store when she goes. Would love to hear Talon sing happy birthday to herself, you game?
  10. My bad, actually Janet's bad, she started it:blush: Yes its a lovely picture Jill, why don't you frame it?
  11. Yes as all kids do but Cleo will always be your baby for a long, long time, enjoy!
  12. Glad to hear it, makes us very happy for a happy grey makes for a happy family.
  13. Yes Legos can be great fun for greys and I love that last pic, you can't hide anything from Alfie it seems, thanks for sharing the pics with us Lyn.
  14. I would just use newspaper, it is so readily available and if you already get it then it is no additional cost to you, when its soiled you just get rid of it and put down some more.
  15. I know you must have stressed out over seeing those feathers fall out but the first molting time can vary so all is normal.
  16. Congrats on bringing your baby home today, this is the big day but don't worry, just relax and everything will be just fine. Can't wait to see some pictures when he gets home. That is a beautiful card, she did a good job with it.
  17. RhonnieS wrote: Ah the sweetest words ever spoken, that is so sweet when they say that. That might explain why he does not like men, he could have been abused by one, so sad that some people can get their jollies by being cruel to animals.
  18. So glad to hear that Dusty is better and the bleeding stopped and if he is calmer out of his cage then so be it, you do what you have to do. That is so true, you never know what will happen so its better to be prepared and not need it than to not be prepared and need it, thanks for the tip.
  19. He isn't a horrible little dude and he does sound like a wonderful bird especially if he plays ball and knows his colors, he is a smart cookie. Thats wonderful to hear he was a rescue, we have a special place in our hearts for people who take in birds that may not be welcome at just anyone's home and with a foul mouth he wouldn't have been. Hopefully in time he will use those words less and less since he no longer hears them used.
  20. Good luck Robin on the vet visit and he might want to clip the other wing feathers to even it out so he is balanced but it is going to take a while for them to grow back in so it may be just as well. Thats great that he is eating better now and his weight will stabalize soon. Thanks for keeping us updated.
  21. Some greys do take a disliking to either men or women, don't know why they do but some do but keep working on it and do browse thru the threads for we have had this type of discussion before so you might find some helpful tips.
  22. "Pinecone" yes I recognize that look, Josey does that look sometimes at my hubby too but then she will also give him kisses and come on his shoulder but only from the playstand not from the cage or from the floor. She is strictly my bird but she tolerates him at times. Thanks for sharing those pics with us. BTW, I hope he doesn't get too much of those snack cakes with the cream filling, that is way too much sugar for him.
  23. Congrats on bringing home Ollie, he is a great looking grey from the video you shared with us. Since this is your first grey it will be a learning experience for you but you are doing great so far, keep up the good work and enjoy your little fella.
  24. I wish I could go but I am busy this weekend, I would love to visit that place even without the palooza going on but a chance to meet Irene would be icing on the cake. Please let us know how it goes and if you get a chance to take any pictures we would love to see those.
  25. Hello Ryan and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could finally join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Paco. What a wonderful introduction and you tell us so much I feel like I already know you and this is great, we like to know some about our members and their birds as it helps when a problem arises to give advice. You may want to consider getting another bird, not a grey but a smaller species of bird to keep Paco company during the day while you are at work. I have a sun conure along with my grey and even though they are in separate cages they are in the same room and probably provide some companionship. You are so right to include all the family in on interaction with your bird, Paco will be more socialized and will be more willing to be handled by others if the need arises. Even though you didn't get to visit with Paco before you brought him home it sounds like he is settling in nicely and you two are bonding, keep up what you are doing as its working. Please do continue to read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Paco you would share with us we would love to see them.
