  1. Didn't impress me either Jill, some spins and turns and of course an obstacle would have made it much better, I could do what she did.  B)
  2. You know I hate to be the bad guy or girl in this case but what are the circumstances as to why you have a 4 week old grey and it seems you know little of how to take care of it? Raising baby greys should be left to the breeder who would wean it before selling it.

    Chicken Bones?

You got the right attitude, one of them pictures has got to be good enough to share, it doesn't have to be perfect. BTW, I like lite mayo in my salad!!! B)
  4. Thanks Tracie for the update on Lilo, he seems to be doing fine except for the bites but maybe when he gets to trust you he will stop but he could be testing you to see what you are going to do. I remember his phone ring but he looks as handsome as ever except for the clipped wings but they will regrow in time. Glad to hear he is doing well.
  5. Today is going to be like Friday to me, I am taking the day off tomorrow to go shopping, one of my passions, so let this party start early, yipppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee

    Chicken Bones?

Wouldn't be much left then would it Jill, silly woman!!! :woohoo:
  7. I think you should have taken that baby to the vet, he could have something wrong with him and only an avian vet would know for sure, I hope for your and your baby's sake that you did the right thing but in any case keep us informed.

    Chicken Bones?

Make enough for me then for I love chicken salad! Get a picture of Rebel eating it if you can manage it.
  9. Three days is just not enough time for him to be settled into his new home, give him some time to become comfortable and learn how to read his body language to know when not to mess with him. You have to earn his trust and he just doesn't trust you yet and also he is testing you to see what you will do or allow him to get away with. You will never get him to stop biting completely as that is one of their ways of communication but you can avoid it most of the time. Clicking is a common sound from a grey, my greys does it and the grinding of the beak is a sign of contentment and they usually do that when relaxed as when they get ready to go to sleep. Yes they shake their tail feathers when happy but also to just shake them back into place. I think you are headed into the right direction but if you have any more questions just ask.
  10. Thanks for that link and I probably won't watch it if it shows how they catch wild greys, done seen that and do not care for that image in my head again as I am trying to get rid of the one from before.
  11. I bet he is a beautiful bird but 20 years old he is set in his ways and will be very difficult to get him to let you handle him very much. This will be a long road but not impossible, I doubt he will ever be "tame" but he can be a good pet or companion. Congrats on taking him in and you will find some help in our many threads and Dave007 will be one to ask for some help as he has dealt with this situation before and is very knowledgeable with greys. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and maybe provide some pictures of him.
  12. Its so cute to see them blush for whatever reason but I would like to think it was for love:kiss: B)
  13. Yes Josey does that sometimes, like she is wiping up a morsel that may have stuck to her beak. Josey and Sunny both get scared sometimes when my hubby comes in the door after being out for a bit, he does it suddenly so when the door opens they take flight, well at least Sunny does, Josey can't but she flies off her perch, I've told him many times about it but it falls on deaf ears.
  14. Jill is right, birds are masters of hiding illness, thats what protects them in the wild as sick birds are easy prey but I am glad you got him to the vet and now he is on antibiotics, poor dear. No this is not the norm but it happens and now that he is getting meds he should get better soon, please keep us informed.
  15. This will take time Deb, you loved Bonnie so much and it takes a long time to get over it where you can be at peace with it and just remember the good times you had and not shed a tear over it.

  17. Robin, more pictures please of General Beauregard Grey and glad to hear he is settling in very well.
  18. I would take that grey to an avian vet ASAP, if it isn't eating there is something wrong, tell them to take it now.
  19. Thats great news Howardine, you just made my day! xox

    Chicken Bones?

Josey did kind of look at it funny the first time I offered her one but the second time she took it and every time I give her one she tears it up to get the marrow inside, just leave a little bit of meat on it to entice her.
  21. Emma is such a doll and a ham, what a character she is, I always enjoy your videos of her, keep em coming.
  22. Congrats and I know you are excited about it, so are we, let us know how it goes with Henry and pictures please.

    Chicken Bones?

I give Josey a cooked chicken bone from time to time, only from a baked chicken, not a fried one, I do keep an eye on her while she tears it up to get the marrow inside, she loves it.
  24. That was so funny but my conure tried to take a bath in the dishwater one time, she sits on my shoulder but when I am doing something she hangs off my shirt trying to get into what I am doing, well I was doing some dishes in the sink and she didn't hang on good enough and she fell into the water, good thing it wasn't hot. She will sometimes take a bath in her water bowl but if she knows I am going to take her and give her a bath she will fly from me and try to avoid it but I get her anyway.
