  1. Hello Jackyshay and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Charlie. Why don't you tell us some more about you and Charlie so we can get to know you better. Please do read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I know from the conversation in the Live Chat window that Charlie loves to eat seeds and he doesn't want to eat pellets but the pellets should be available at all times for you never know when he will start eating them. We love pictures here so if you have some of Charlie you would share with us we would love to see them.
  2. Hello Harmar and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. I hope you have researched enough to know whether a grey is a good fit for you for you should be sure before you make that committment for a grey can live to 50 - 60 years or more. We abhor people who get one and then decide that it wasn't what they thought it would be and then find it a new home. Too many birds wind up in that situation so we like for people to avoid putting themselves in that position. Please read thru the many threads here for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. Thats too bad that the breeder has already clipped the wings, they really shouldn't assume that every bird owner would want them clipped, a lot of members here are passionate about leaving the flight feathers uncut so the bird may fly like it was intended to. Don't worry about not knowing everything, I have had my grey for 3 years now and I freely admit I don't know everything but I have received a lot of advice from the members here that helped me out tremendously.
  3. Some greys donot care much for the pellets, you might have to try several different varieties and brands to see if he will eat one of them for they do provide good nutrition for them. Continue to offer them for some will not touch them for a while then try them and start eating them so be sure they are available at all times. Most greys will go for the seeds first but you should be offering vegetables, some fruits, grains, legumes, nuts with a few seeds. Why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and Charlie.

  6. Heh heh heh Bernie:whistle: :lol: Just got back from dinner out, Josey is on playstand and Sunny is on my shoulder, watching a little tv and having a drink later to relax after a long week. Going with the grandkids tomorrow to a pumpkin patch and corn maze then all getting together Sunday morning for brunch.
  7. Thats ok Adina, some probably saw this one that didn't see the other one but yes it was funny but not funny that the man got some bad scratches from that bird but the amazing part is that it just came up to the man and jumped on his head and did what he did like he wasn't afraid of him at all. If it had been me I would have freaked out when he went to my head.
  8. Fred you don't know how lucky you are to end up in Jay and Maggie's home, you will be blessed with love, attention and good food, better than you have had anywhere you have been so far. I bet you think you have died and gone to heaven. Jay and Maggie are two of the best people you will ever know, they know exactly what you need and provide it without you ever having to ask for it. Fred has such a sweet face, how could anyone shut him up in a closet, thanks for sharing some pictures with us, I think you look great.
  9. You are not crazy Howardine, you are in good company here with the rest of us nuts. {Feel-good-0002006E}

  14. That was cute Robin, real cute, Josey gives me kisses and even gives my hubby kisses.
  15. Bernie, did you get up on the wrong side of the bed today? You don't have much of anything nice to say today, why don't you try this again, I am shocked:ohmy: Well I was having a good day until I read Bernie's post, I am still at work for a couple more hours then its home to fix dinner. Got a busy weekend with the grandkids, yes all three of them, wanna join in!!
  16. Yes at least he fluffs up for his shower, my Josey will not do that so she does not get fully soaked when I shower her, thanks for sharing that clip with us.
  17. Dan just posted this very same video a few days ago but it is fun to watch a wild bird do that to a man but he scratched him up doing it though, thanks for sharing that with us Adina, maybe some members missed seeing it. http://www.greyforums.net/forums/offtopic-discussions/162090-photographer-and-wild-parrot-love.html#162090
  18. Oh I love that second picture, a bat he does resemble.
  19. Thats great that he is taking to the pellets, they will provide added nutrition to his diet, his feathers do look a little rough but he will be looking better in due time, thanks for sharing a picture of him with us.
  20. She has you trained well doesn't she, too cute!:silly: B)
  21. Oh thats good to hear and she must behave herself if you trust her to be out while you continue to sleep but that is funny that she wouldn't let you sleep longer unless you let her out first.:lol:
  22. Pepper sleeps with you, interesting, how do you keep from rolling over on her during the night, I would be afraid I would and kill her?
  23. Thanks for the laugh Jill, did you notice the african grey in the cage behind the too that wanted to join in the fun, LMAO:laugh:
  24. Thats great to hear, now could you teach Josey to do that when I give her showers, she just stands there and endures hers without fluffing up to let the water in to get to her skin but I do the best I can. He looks great standing there, thanks for sharing the pic.
