Jill is right, there is always someone on this site at all times, day or night so if you need anything all you have to do is ask but we never take the place of your avian vet who you would consult if you have a real problem.
It looks like those two Mango and Rocky are getting along pretty well together, thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
I do not have a big macaw but I would imagine you would be better off to stay with a metal playstand than one made out of pine as that is a soft wood and he could literally chew his perch from beneath him. You certainly need something very sturdy and heavy like so he doesn't tip it over on himself.
Oh poor dear Mango, hopefully those are some new feathers coming in and the plucking will stop but time will tell, its great that you could give him a new home.
Thanks for sharing the pictures of Mango and Rocky with us, great looking birds.
Then David is indeed a keeper, not many people can take a bite to the face and get back in there and hold her again but he needs to pay more attention to her body language.
He has to forgive her for he was the one at fault for not paying attention for she was trying to tell him something but he is a good sport about it.
Well you never know Raleej, just introduce them slowly when you bring your grey home and see how they react to one another, you will soon know if you are going to have problems and deal with it then.
I'm sure Kim more than makes up for any cuddles you are missing out from Dayo.
So you like playing second banana huh, well not in Kim's eyes I bet.
Jill, what can I say but you are the best!
It is normal for them to beak one another as long as it doesn't go any further than that and be sure to supervise them when they are both out together.
We would love to see some pictures of this interaction if it is so darn cute. :cheer:
Its normal to be nervous but be sure you want to bring this 3rd bird into your home, can you provide enough time and attention to these birds?
Please read thru this link I have provided on quaranteen when you get another bird:
http://www.greyforums.net/faqs/
You do need separate cages for each of your birds, even though they may get along when out on playstands they need their own cage to call their own for when they just want to chill out.
I hope you had someone else do the plucking so Sydney doesn't associate you with the pain of getting those feathers for the dna test but yeah it is an awful experience for a bird.
They may be some type of pole bean that requires some support for the vines to grab hold of and run up the pole, hence they are called runner beans, a lot of them are flat podded beans and that is what the one that Harvey is holding looks like.
Tiko is beautiful, congrats on bringing him home today and I hope it all goes well with Tango and him, thanks for sharing the picture of you with your birds.
Thanks for the great update on Darwin, it looks like the two of you are having a blast and she is adorable from the pictures you shared. I love that playstand and I bet she enjoys playing on it.
It is wonderful when you can bring her with you to work, she gets so much more attention that way and she is loving it.
What a wonderful well rounded grey she is, thanks for sharing the pictures and letting us know how she is doing.
Tia I hope one of the greys takes a liking to you and that will be the one you bring home, good luck to you and take your time when you visit them for one of them may be more receptive than the others. I hope all goes well for you tomorrow.
Thats beak grinding Cassandra and I am surprised you hadn't heard it before, they do that when they are getting ready to go to sleep, some do it more than others, my little sun conure does it a lot.
Oh well then you will just have to wait until you get it fixed to play with it again, I think this toy is broken more than it is fixed, is it worth the trouble?
This is the site I got my travel carrier from and it comes in two sizes, a great invention:
http://www.thecountryroost.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=28_29&osCsid=4ec0032e6a6be60a4dcb415e2d1f5af5
Thats great to hear, Coral will be much safer in the crate but if I were you I would invest in a travel carrier to use for vet visits and also to take her on outings from time to time so she does not associate being in it with going just to the vet, you want to make it an enjoyable experience for her.
Well thats it then, Tiko, if the bird named itself then you have to stick with it, can't wait to hear how it goes when you bring Tiko home and pictures please.
Gracie is a petite little grey at 310 grams but she is a cutie, sounds like she is a real sweetheart of a grey too, thanks for updating us on how she and everyone is doing.
No she wasn't kidding, we have buckets of margarita mix, you just add the tequila, we also have margarita machines you can buy like a household appliance to make frozen ones like the ones Deb described in her post.
