1. are you guys talking about giant CAGs? well simon is really on the smaller side, when i bought him he's really small compare to the other CAG the breeder has. he is now 6 months old and weighs around 400g (give or take).

Sad

so sad on what happened. if youre still looking for a breeder try contacting Bill, he is in Salinas. I've got my CAG from him, here is his email: afgrey123@aol.com or you might want to try Lynn: lynnsbirds.com, she's in san jose. There is another breeder in Watsonville but can't remember the name. goodluck!
3. well my CAG really doesn't care about Harrisons, I've tried twice already and really no luck. I've just recently I switched from frutiblend to natural and got no problem with the switch. So for the past 5 days he's been eating the Zupreem natural plus his usual fruits and vegies.

hmm

I think the best way is use the 32"L x 24"W x 36"H (81cm x 61cm x 91cm) minimum. The bigger the better.
5. why don't you try soaking the harrisons in a juice? well my fid really doesn't want to eat the harrisons, i've tried twice and no dice he'll just ignore it. from seeds to zupreem fruitblend to zupreem naturals, i don't have problems.
6. Simon my CAG loves the pomegranate but I have to limit the feeding. I have to remove the stains on the carpet first! Funny thing is when I put a piece of it for him to eat he just ignored it until I showed him I am eating it then he follows.

9. welcome and congratulations on your first grey. I am a new owner myself so if you have any questions or doubt on what you are doing don't hesitate to post your concern. A lot of people here are very helpful and will give you their insights based on their personal experiences.
10. based on my experience with reptiles that kind of lamp is not reccommended because you can't spread the light output that much. If you can find a lamp that look like the one Zoomed (zoomed.com) is selling it is much better since the light will be more spread. It doesnt mean it is not good but it would be more efficient. another thing is make sure the light is on top of your fid so that your fid will not stare on the bulb which is bad for their eyes. just my 2 cent.
11. I do think they can, actually all animals do understand and most of the time it's us human who don't/can't understand them.
12. I don't know if I'm really doing it right, since I am home all the the time my fid stays outside. Sometimes I do put him inside the cage for no reason at all, just to let him get used to be inside his cage during the day time. If we're going out he stays inside the cage. Both inside and playtop have toys, food and water. My fid is clipped but he knows how to get down from his cage and sometimes would wander going upstairs using the stairs or will stay in the kitchen looking for crumbs my daughter dropped.

Post edited by: raleej337, at: 2009/11/06 01:07
