  1. Oh yes definitely, they like our food and when they see us eat they want it too but be careful of letting her have too much cheese at one time, moderation is the key. There are a lot of foods she can have but you have to watch the salt and sugar content of them.
  2. Yes it worked, I see Sydney, he is handsome, you finally managed to get a picture posted, congrats and thanks for sharing it with us.
  3. I'll bet you will get up tomorrow and everything will be back to normal again. I find that Josey is maybe more of a scaredy cat now than she was earlier, she is very skittish and easily startled, of course she is sort of high strung anyways. About that plastic seat springing open and Beau went ballistic, Josey would have too.
  4. I never have spare money, I just spend money that was supposed to go somewhere else but I do find myself looking for more things for my birds. I wished we could get those palm nuts here but will just have to settle for palm oil. I've never been able to find any sugar cane so wouldn't even know what it looked like but maybe someone has given it to their greys before and can help you with your "problem" :woohoo:
  5. Josey is kind of a wimp too, she is scared of new toys and it takes her a while to play with them, she is not too keen on strangers either, she only goes to me and sometimes my hubby. I do take her out in her carrier from time to time, she goes along when we go visit my son and his family, that is a four hour drive one way, she plays and talks along the way and is good while we are there. There is a step stool that I keep in the kitchen that I occasionally have to use to get something off the top shelves and every time I bring that thing out she growls, something about it scares her but I tell her its ok and she stops.
  6. Darius is so special, what a way to start the day, he sounds like an absolute dream, you are so lucky to have a bird that is so gentle and playful, the pictures are always welcomed, thanks for sharing them with us.
  7. Joolesgreyuk wrote: Sorry Julie, that might apply to dogs and cats but not birds, they can and do bite, there is evidence of that all over this forum, Dan even started a club for it. Is Beau maybe going thru a molt right now, that might make him grumpy but you may just have to do a better job of reading their body language but Argyle sounds like he has pegged you for a sucker. Hang in there Julie and see if it improves.
  8. Josey laughs just like me and if you could hear me you would know it is funny to hear, it cracks me up when she does it. That Tobie is a hoot to watch and if I were around I would be rolling on the floor laughing, thanks Jan for sharing that with us.
  9. I am so sorry to hear this Satchel, yes quarantine is very important especially when the bird comes from a place where there are other birds around. I hope Tiko does not have anything contagious but hopefully the vet visit goes well and it is something that can be treated. Please keep us informed as to what happens and I pray that Tiko is going to be ok.
  10. Wow, what great parronts you two are, risking all to save your precious Rishi, I am keeping you and Rishi in my thoughts and prayers that he is better and please keep us informed for as you can see we care deeply.
  11. Well there are small, medium and large frame greys so the weight varies with each, Josey weighs in at 425 grams so she is about medium. They can weigh up to 600 or more grams, now that is a big grey.

  13. Adaya is so pretty, really a sweet looking grey and of course she can talk, she has the best teachers in those other birds you have around, thanks for sharing those pics with us Pat.
  14. I can see why she has grown on you, Coral is gorgeous and you take good pictures too, she looks so regal there in that last shot, thanks for sharing your beauty with us, you must be so proud.

    OMG

If you really want to know Pat do the dna test, if it doesn't matter then forget it and leave him as Darius, he is beautiful either way.
  17. Congrats on bringing home your new baby grey, Simon, he is a handsome looking fella from the pics you shared. It will take a few days to a few weeks for him to settle in and feel comfortable so allow him time to become accustomed to his new surroundings and good luck. He looks like a real sweetie.
