  1. Thanks for the laugh Julie, made my morning.
  2. Once in a while I see Josey sleeping on the weekend but I can't comment on whether she does during the week. She is usually in her cage playing or sitting on a playstand and she will sit there with one foot up just looking around or preening. I guess it depends on whether they get enough sleep at night.
  3. Thats great to hear Tom, I am so glad that things are working out for you and Meiko and I look forward to seeing some pictures when you can manage it.
  4. TaMarah, the loss will get easier to deal with in time and then maybe you can tell us what happened to Joey, I know it is very painful at the moment but imagine him flying freely over the Rainbow Bridge. I'm sorry we made you cry again but it just shows the love you had for him and maybe one day when you feel better you can bring another bird into your life for you know how much love they can give, so accept my condolenses on your loss and take care.
  5. Hello Jess and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this new grey baby. I too would like to recommend you leave the baby with the breeder until it is fully weaned, you do not have to handfeed it to bond with with your baby, I didn't handfeed mine and we bonded nicely. So much can go wrong. You will find lots of useful information in our many threads and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I have my fingers crossed that this clutch is fertile and hatches out you a wonderful baby.
  6. What a smart parrot you are raising, you won't be able to pull the wool over his eyes as he is too smart for that.
  7. That one is cute, "Beagle, get out" he has taken over the dog's house, thanks for sharing that with us.
  8. I love this bird, Emma is such a great entertainer, it must be a barrel of fun living with her, thanks for sharing her with us.
  9. I am glad to hear you have researched thoroughly before committing to getting one, I only wish every one would do that before making the big plunge but at least you know what you are getting into. Congrats on building your house, that is no small feat in today's economy and I wish you well. Please keep us informed as that day of grey ownership gets closer and good luck to you.
  10. If it will help any please tell us what happened to Joey, did he get sick or was it some kind of accident, sometimes it helps to share your grief with others.
  11. Yes it is normal for them to be a little nervous and be shaking a little, their chest area will look like he is shivering, you are new to him so expect him to be a little scared. I know you are so excited about bringing him home soon.
  12. ShonaRayJoe, did your grey die, I thought from your first post that he was missing as you referred to finding him, but I may have misunderstood. I am so sorry if this is the case but the pain will lessen as time goes by, please accept my condolensces on your loss.
  13. I have noticed your absence from the forum lately but attributed it to your being busy as a lot of people are but I am so glad to hear that Dorian is improving. Thats also great that he is flying some, it will take time for him to get better at it, practice makes perfect or darn near close to it. I agree, he needs to sleep inside his cage, that is a battle he won't win if you are persistent with it, they may have us wrapped around their little talons but that doesn't mean we let them get away with everything, some rules must be obeyed. Thanks for taking the time to let us know how things are going for you and Dorian and please stay in touch with us and maybe share a couple of pics of him with us.
  14. I am sorry to hear of this and I know how you must feel, I hope you are doing all you can to find him, can you tell us how this came about?
  15. I know how that is Bernie, my two kids moved out long ago and it is nice to have the extra room, now they come back and visit but don't stay, best that way.
  16. Emma is so smart, thats wonderful what you are teaching her, I loved it as usual, your videos do not disappoint and no we will never get sick of seeing Emma videos so keep em coming, karma for having such a smart grey.
  17. Yep Janet it won't be long now and I am so envious for Josey will be much longer before she gets there, thanks for sharing the video of Anna Grey with us.
  18. Keep working on it Dan but in the meantime thanks for the laugh, most appreciated! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  19. Right on Jill, some people might think they are intruding but how else can we get to be friends unless they join and meet other members. I too am guilty of being a guest at times to see if anything is going on that warrants my logging in to help take care of a situation but we usually have more guests than members online. We are about the friendliest forum you will find and when you join you are part of a large family and will be treated as such so come on in and join in the fun, yes we have fun here too besides just giving good advice, laughter goes a long way, very important in today's world.
  20. Lets not even go there Jill, get back to the knitting please and no more undergarmets eeewwwwwwwwwww:sick:
  21. It actually looks worse than it really is but Jane is right, she will get the rest out later. When they get a feather out of place or one gets damaged they take care of it themselves, you just need to administer some flour or corn starch to help stop any bleeding. I know this a harrowing experience but you handled it well and now you know what to do the next time it happens. Now if the shaft continues to bleed then it will have to be removed by pliers but as long as it doesn't then leave it alone.
  22. I hope you can find an avian vet even if you have to travel some to do it, he really needs to be seen but I am glad to hear that he shows some improvement since you first posted. I would question that friend that had him for several days and see what he says about what he ate and how he was treated as that may have some bearing on what you are seeing now that he is home. Please do keep us informed as we do care.
  23. More great pictures of Mocha, he is really awesome looking and I bet he will start talking soon, watch out for he will put Koko to shame with his vocabulary. Thanks for sharing more pictures of Mocha with us.
  24. Exactly Dee, he knows he has hit the mother lode, lucky bird.
  25. Ok but don't make us wait too long, we want to see Earl.
