  1. Talon.. I like the Body Language thread idea.. Why not start it..
  2. Hey there... Yes.. Dan has been posting like crazy and we are happy to have him.. and now you... Welcome to our family.. Regarding your Grey.. I can tell you that I didn't pay any attention to any of that with Ceasar.. i just took him in my hands and kissed him all over.. He growled for awhile but after continuely doing this he now understand that I am no threat to him.. Now I can do whatever I want to him with no problems... So, you will hear two different approaches.. The one I told you here.. and others coming form your family members.. Pick what you think will work for you and your bird..
  3. Well.. I'm 26... Yeah I know, kinda young to be an admin... What can I say.. I hope you don't hold this against me.. You won't right? ;)
  4. Talon did get a really good bird too.. i have seen photos of "talon the bird" and she looks very well adjusted..
  5. Yes dan.. this is normal.. If you go to your profile and then Manage friend you will see the names listed there..
  6. What are you trying to do.. I'll help.. Cd
  7. Hi everyone.. You know, being here as an admin has been a very rewarding experience for me. I get to hang out with what I consider to be some of the best informed forum family members on the entire internet...and that would mean planet earth. It's no secret that Grey owners are a special breed. Not only do they love animals but they also have a passion for life few others ever experience.. Because we are so compassionate sometimes there are differences in opinions that get debated here on these pages. Differences are always gonna be there. I for one certainly love to see these debates and often you will see me get involved in many of them. Fairy, Talon and all our Moderators also love to debate. Debate is a good thing. Which brings me to the reason I write this to you.. Recently there have been many dabates that simply went over the line.. Now what I mean by "over the line" is that it got personal. When I see members naming other members as being "this or that" I have to draw the line between healthy debate and debate that is destructive to us as a family. We have come a long way as a group and I don't think we should personally attack one another FOR ANY REASON.. I think that if there are personal problems between members that problem needs to be worked out in our private message system. I will be happy to moderate any dispute with anyone.. and you know I will... In closing I want to say this.. We all come here with a common purpose.. Our wonderful Greys.. We are also lucky that we have family members here that care about us.. I know I care about EVERY MEMBER HERE... So what I would like to say to you is RESPECT your fellow members. DON'T EVER use anyones name directly in a message that is part of a nasty exchange.. TAKE IT TO THE PRIVATE MESSAGE SYSTEM... Look guys. I don't ask for much here.. but this I am asking for.. OK CD<br><br>Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/07/05 16:08
  8. For a home and if you are gonna let your Grey fly I think a TAG is a nice choice.. The lower body weight (by a lot sometimes) allows them to fly like you can't believe.. Ask Talon about this as she has a TAG that flys like a champion.. Her bird is 200 grams lighter then Ceasar is.. That 200 grams makes some difference when it comes to flying around the house..
  9. I think Judy is making a joke over you being a Brit.. :P :P I didn't hear that accent in your video.. Were you born there Beccy?
  10. uberduke wrote: You got some great info so far from our other family members.. I would just add that I have found that Ceasar really isn't all upset when we go out and he has to stay in his cage.. I don't get that feeling at all.. I use to get all upset when we were gonna go somewhere and had to leave him locked up for like 10 hours.. Now it doesn't bother me at all.. and what a relief that is.. Regarding the TV and Radio.. The thing about this is that it MASKS those tiny little noises that make Greys or any birds nervous.. They are much more nervous with those radom "house noises" then they are about a constant steady noise... So that would be another reason to leave a TV or Radio on.. Just my 2 cents.. CD
  11. Hi Beccy.. Ceasars tongue is black.. It's slightly less black on the sides but basically it's black.

  13. I am very emotional today so just the slightest thing can make me cry... yeah I know, screw all that man stuff.. god made me in a funny way.. Incredible hard and nasty sometimes on the outside and the feelings of a woman in the inside.. it's something that has caused me tremendous pain in the past over.. but, that's me.. Anyway, Birdgranna.. I am not a nurse.. I just play one in real live.. No, just kidding.. I needed to lighted the mood slightly. BirdGranna.. I know I told this before in other posts above.. but I have to tell you.. Directly.. When I saw that little fella was gonna die a part of me was dieing too. Dieing because I felt that I let him down. I felt that I didn't do everything I could have for him... When I held him in my hands in that time before his death.. I knew he wasn't gonna be around for long.. I think letting him die in my hands really had a major effect on me.. I was crying like this bird was in the family for years and years.. while it had only been around of a day.. If you have never had life, any life slip away right before your very eyes.. I have to tell you.. It will change how you feel about life.. I know it did for me.. and I always love life of any kind, any form.. I know that this tiny insignificant creature dieing in my hands was for some purpose.. I will discover what that purpose was.. Thank you for writing such a nice message to me.. I appreciate it very very much...
  14. Thank you lidia.. Positive thoughts and Karma to you to..
  15. Yes... Happy 4th.. Wonderful graphics Judy..
  16. paullywalnuts wrote: Hi Joe.. Thanks for joining our family.. You would be surprised just how similar your parakeets are to Grey's. Let me give you some similarities. Your parakeets need lots of love.. So does the Grey.. Your parakeets needed out of cage time.. So does the Grey... Your parakeets need lots of love and attention.. So does the Grey.. :P :P I could continue but I think you get the idea.. :) Anyway, Tari makes a good point about affordability of Grey's. It costs way more to raise one and give it the love it needs then it costs to buy one... You will forever be buying toys toys and more toys.. Beside that you have well bird Vet visits, cage accessories, play stands, play trees, and on and on..... You are starting in the right place by posting here.. I am sure you are gonna get lots of opinions... Sit back and enjoy... See ya soon CD
  17. Yes of course Judy.. I understand... and it has been eating me up..
  18. You are far from a dummy and quite far from a senior too.. Remember.. NOT OLD... JUST OLDER... I love you sweetie.. :P :P
  19. You are so Lucky Tari.. You have so many creatures to love..
  20. Dan, I like Dayo.. Regarding your breeder.. The breeder we got Ceasar from had the same policy.. No bird goes home until he is eating on his own and has been flying for about a week.. Then they get clipped..
  21. Ceasar will look at a new toy for days before he decides it's OK to play with it.. I just leave it there on his playstand.. He gets over it by himself..

  23. This is a funny story.. The EU launched a You Tube knock off site.. Their purpose was to "spread positive messages about global warming and topics like that" After the launch it was found that the most popular clip downloaded was a sex clip.. The clip — titled "Film Lovers Will Love This!" — has been viewed more than 280,000 times, while the next most popular video on the EUTube channel — a humanitarian aid clip called "Reaching out to lend a hand" — has fewer than 30,000 views. And they are surprised..    This shows just how dumb some people can be... PM me if you want the link.. Of course you have to be over 18 silly...<br><br>Post edited by: CeasarsDad, at: 2007/07/03 22:42
  24. That's always a good approach when in doubt.. Besides, a well bird visit to the vet is also a good thing to do.. So either way it's all good..
