Yes. Some will get nippy, some will get standoffish, some darn-right nasty. Just like us they all have their own way of showing lack of sleep. If they are waking up in the morning on their own, I would assume they are getting enough to get by. I agree that they do nap during the day and that will help make up for any lack of sleep at night.

Congratulations! The problem is, as what may have happened with Cyprus, we can make what we feel is a good arrangement. Then after we are gone the people to whom we entrusted our babies change their minds, or their circumstances change and they no longer can care for the birds. Then the birds are pushed around. I have nightmares about what will happen to my 'family' once I am gone.

Welcome Pat. My Grey calls to me every morning, but I wouldn't call it a scream. As one that is also owned by a Sun Conure I do know a scream! LOL Your baby will surely be doing more vocalizations as he gets settled in.

You might try to tighten it just a bit. Yes, they can chew through it. I know it says they can't, but I have two that say they can! LOL Just make sure you check it often if you see him chewing and ALWAYS check it after you take it off. It is wonderful that it only took you a week to get him in it that is a short time!

Welcome! You also need to remember that Grey time and our time are very different. A month to us may seem long enough to make a big change, but to a Grey that may seem like a day. SO, in working with Archie, please take your time and then some. A year is not too long to work before seeing a big response. BUT that said - it is SOOO worth the effort. A good diet, which you have started on. You might want to include some fresh vegetables in now. You said he likes the kitchen tap - does he 'shower' under it? If so wonderful! If not, you miay want to find out if he will. A shower a few times a week might help with his chewing the feathers - it might not but it is worth trying. If he doesn't like the tap try spraying him or maybe he would like a bath not a shower. Of course, if he is like most Greys, he won't like any of it - but you have to bath/shower him anyways! LOL

I only feed ginger when their stomachs are upset. I put a bit in water and make a weak tea and they love it when it is just warm.

Still a neat picture! Roxy is awesome. What is her back story, if you don't mind me asking. At 2 she is still a baby so you two have many years ahead of you.

Poor baby! So glad he is back to his old self. I am thinking I had better be more careful about my grandnephew puppy when he visits. He is a small dog - less than 10 lbs. and we have hawks around here. But he is on a leash at all times when I puppy-sit.
