  1. Just has to let you know what she wants - and of course, you drop everything and do it!! LOVE IT!! LOL HRH reigns high!
  2. YEAH HRH!!! It is such a soul feeling happiness we feel when they start to really act like birds!! I remember that feeling when my Peanut first started to fly. He came to me with such a horrible clip that it took him over a year before he did any real flying.
  3. Gabby is adorable in her harness. Yes they do chew through them. My Grey never did, but my Sun went through one in two wearings! LOL
  4. LOL well your Dad got what he wanted!! LOL Peanut's first word was Hello.
  5. Welcome. While introducing Echo to foods, please don't wean him too early. Mine took an evening feeding until he was almost 6 months old. I have heard others who took them even longer. Abundance weaning lets the bird pick when he has had enough. Adorable little guy/gal!
  6. WOW another MBS person. 2 Greys and 2 Zons - nice house full!! Looking forward to pictures.
  7. Looks good. Let us know how the birds react.
  8. I, too, pray that the stress test comes back normal. Please take care of yourself. You are right in saying that we are not promised tomorrow. All we have is today that is why it is called the present. LOL
  9. I am so sorry Ray. I was going to say 'when it rains it pours' and in Ohio this June it sure has!! LOL
  10. Real hot water is the key. Steam is your friend!! LOL I use vinegar too, just make sure you rinse it well.
  11. Welcome Darci. You don't mention where you are now, but be sure to check into what it would take to bring the bird BACK home with you. I would hate for you to go to a nation that lets you in and then have your home nation tell you that you can not bring the bird back with you. I have heard of it happening!! Please be very careful.
  12. I can't say I have ever heard of anything like that. Not sure I would want my birds let loose in a room full of other birds they didn't know. A little over protective maybe?
  13. Welcome. I think she will do fine on your vegetarian diet. Do you eat milk, eggs etc? If so, a little egg a couple of times a week will do. Also, a bite of whole grain bread toasted with a drop of red palm oil will sometimes be accepted. You might try covering it with a thin amount of Peanut Butter. That also will give her a bit of protein. Most beans are OK but only cooked then cooled a bit. You might try a warm bath, my Grey does much better with his shower when it is warm. Now my Sun Conure likes cool - so no shared showers! LOL I agree that Zupreem fruit has too much sugar so please keep trying to get her to eat others. We do like pictures!!
  14. Way to Go Talon!!! Made Mommy proud!!

    Mini Cones

I'm not sure I have ever seen any that small. I will have to look for them as I am in a rut here and am looking for a few different things to do. Thanks.
  16. OH the joys of multi breed homes!! LOL
  17. Welcome. Mine is a - was going to say a male, but he has not been dna'd so I really am not sure! LOL So, I can not judge if he is acting that way because he is one or the other. I agree, if you can visit them all, one just may pick you. Doesn't happen every time, but it does happen once in a while.
  18. Welcome. He is not cage aggressive, but won't come out. It seems he is a man of habit. He hasn't been out of the cage in years so has become use to it. Is the cage large enough for him? Or maybe he is due for a change in cages?? If so, that could help him come out. If not, and if Ray's suggestion doesn't work, I would try tying a few long pieces of cloth on the open door and see if that might peak his interest. Keep trying. One of these days he will surprise you and venture out. We love pictures.
  19. Alex!! It might be worth the drive from Ohio to see your Vet. LOL
  20. Wonderful! Yes, all sounds very normal for a baby. Letting her have her night feeding for as long as she wants it will help keep her on an even keel - in my opinion. Mine didn't stop the last feeding until he was 6 months. Good report. She looks so grown up in that picture!
  21. Where there is a will, there is a way! That is neat, Bluedawg.
  22. He most likely has forgiven you now! LOL Trouble is he won't forget!!
  23. I also have three. Because we wanted them, not for them - OK I am sorry, the last TIEL is here because my daughter decide after his companion died he would be happier here. I started out with a TIEL. When she was about 14, I was given a Sun Conure. The two of them got along as best buds. The TIEL was a no cage bird so had no territory to defend. The Sun being new to the house looked at the TIEL as a big brother (I think). The TIEL died. About a year later we bought an four month old TAG. I introduced them in a spot not belonging to either. They got along very well. The TAG even taught my Sun how to play with toys ( until then I had been his toy). As the TAG got older their friendship did lessen. They are out together all the time. Sometimes they play, but mostly the tolerate each other. One sits on my head the other on my shoulder - live is good. I would never shut them into the same cage!! So, to say it again. If you get another bird do it for you not Roscoe!!
  24. Welcome! Yes, it will take a LOT of patience and time, but boy will it be worth it when you have a companion in the end. Bogart is a lucky bird to have found you. Just remember he has had years of mistreatment - even though not physical. It might seem like a long time to you, but a year is just a short time to Bogart. My guess is that you have a good year, if not more, work to do. Best of luck.
  25. Welcome! Kylie, I am so sorry. You do know that now you will be chief cook and cage tender and your hubby will get all the love! LOL It can and does happen. The bird chooses the one they want and the other one is the one that takes care of them. Glad you have your CAG.
