Gosh I really really want to do the whole cat/bird thing but ... the cats already took out the hamster cage and well lets just say that ended badly granted they are alot smaller and alot more helpless then a big bird might be but ... I just worry I dont wanna stress either of them out by letting her in the house where the bird is at

I am just AMAZED that you can have your cat and grey that close together. WOW ... have they always been like that? Im scared to death to let my cat even in the house shes so used to hunting various "outside animals" ...

You know you live with a parrot when ......... Your phone rings and the parrot is saying hello before you even pick it up.... Your kids complain that all you do is make food for the parrot :eek: You can be sitting at work and see a tiny little feather floating through the air and your parrot is at home lol

I took Marco to a friends house for the DAY when I cleaned my self cleaning oven because not only the fumes but it gives ME a headache huge...... But I do like the home remedy with the baking soda might try that as well! sounds like a much better deal

Hang in there, you might not feel like the favorite one with your baby right now, but Im sure you will have a great relationship with them. I am definately the favorite however hubby can do lots of things with Marco as well ... it just takes TIME PATIENCE and TIME. Dont give up!

Marco is very quiet too, you will be amazed at what sounds they DO pick up. Marco has become my second alert when the dryer is done by mimicing the same 3 tones 3 times in a row like the actual machine does ... as if I dont hear the machine doing it as well LOL. Shes a blast to have tho and the older she gets (2yrs now) the faster she is picking up words/sounds. My friend got a puppy almost 3 weeks ago, its been to the house 5 times and shes already calling it by name (Toby) I was just amazed how quickly she figured that out. Im sure you will start to enjoy the more your baby learns

I think this is a great idea too ... Marco stopped eating the pellets as well and I got all worried she wasnt going to get something important she needs. I do bake it in the birdie bread and she'll eat them there, thankfully she eats her veges/fruits wonderfully but this blending up idea is really great Im gonna try it too

Marco hasnt really enjoyed watermelon but likes cantelope a bit

Marco isnt a big sunflower seed eater like at all I thought there was something wrong w/her cuz everyone's grey seemed to like them.

That is exactly what I was going to say as well. Marco LOVES chicken and the bone of a chicken wing, loves scrambled eggs, loves french fries (tho she doesnt get many of those) loves bean mixes. Have you tried the sprout thing yet? I know some people go through all that for their beloved birds too. I make birdie bread for Marco and hide all that stuff in there for her from jalapeno peppers to pellets, and bake it up like a bread and she gets a piece of that every day and she LOVES it. She also loves a tiny cap full of pomegranite juice as well as the fresh pomegranite fruit. Oh and cheese she loves cheese. Sometimes I heard it said if they see YOU eating it, they will become inquisitive and want to see what it is you are eating you could try that as well!!! Marco likes a cracker too with a lil dab of peanut butter. Everything in moderation ... keep trying. You might even try warming up something for your bird Marco loves her food warm. Whatever you do .... DONT give up trying new things and new ways to feed them to your bird.

making toys at home that archie can eat/shred is really easier then you think and so many things can be used from coffee filters, toilet paper rolls, straws. I would keep the play stand you made him near too so he can get used to it and keep tryin to encourage him to get on or use it good luck sounds like you are doing an excellent job

I take the time one day a month and/or week whatever is needed to "cook" for Marco. I make birdie bread then divide it into pieces and freeze the other sections. I make beans and make cubes of them and freeze the other sections and take out what I need and thaw it. I give her the fresh veges/fruit daily she doesnt like the seed/pellets either. Its just like cooking for your children <shrugs> doesnt bother me much. But I do like the link you put up there Talon and I am going to try and get me some of that see if marco likes it thanks!

I agree with the closet talker, but dont get discouraged ... still make sure you talk to him and/or explain things you are doing while doing them perhaps that will encourge your baby to talk back to you. I guess Im lucky Marco talks anytime, all the time, if im there or not, if the cams on or not, shes just chill like that.

I also hide veges in a bean mix i make and put into ice cube trays and freeze for marco hope you find some great ideas here

Im confused is beezwax scented? if not what is the benefit to burning them in the home to eliminate odor?
