  1. Snowy has a long life ahead of her yet Give her time, figure out what foods are her favorite for treats. Start with something easy and fun. Yoshi actually started out with 'Step Up'. I'd have her step up a couple times and reward her, till she understood and was super eager to do something so easy for a treat. Yoshi is now 7 months and can step up, turn in circles, give lots of kisses, and has just mastered falling backwards 'BANG' shot from standing on my hand. she will swing lifelessly until we say 'Good job Yoshi!' and then will spring back up with a bunch of flapping. Good luck in future training, just stay persistent and make it fun and you will be surprised what Snowy can do
  2. Aww, Snowy looks so cute I love the pictures... good luck with your baby!
  3. Well we just put our tree up yesterday and Yoshi seems to not be interested or scared or anything
  4. How funny, too bad Yoshi can't pick up after herself, she sure does make a mess! At least she has gotten better at pooping on command, and not pooping on me For that I am grateful!
  5. Awesome, lol, what a beautiful design!
  6. Yoshi is happy on my shoulder napping while I'm on the computer, or begging for scratches. Other times she is fumbling around my desk, ripping up an old book that I purposefully got for her, or getting into some sort of mischief. If she starts to get bored I put her back on her cage-top with a pistachio and she's all good. She doesn't have a problem with my computer, but then I'm not on it all the time... and we have no problems with her being too loud EVER because she is so ridiculously quiet. Lol, sometimes I wonder if she can even get loud, but then she occasionally does a loud call if we are downstairs without her... I love my weird Yoshi
  7. Sorry I haven't had much time lately to be on here, but Yoshi and I just had a shower together, and I'm off today, so I thought I'd say hello. I've been noticing Yoshi's tail is getting more red, and I love the little pattern that has been developing, here's a pic
  8. Thanks guys... yep my husband and I ate lunch and Yoshi gobbled down half a fry and a bit of chicken... guess she is good to go I will let you guys know if it happens again though
  9. Can't say I've ever heard of that site before coming to the forum, and from what I've heard on here I won't be going Starving your bird to force it to perform for you is stupid. We would love to hear more about your baby though
  10. Looks like last night, Yoshi threw up almost all her dinner... there are bits of orangish food in piles about 6 poops' worth (couldn't think of a better way to describe it) Yet this morning she is eating and drinking and being her happy self... So I called a vet, who told me that she probably felt she needed to feed us... that it is breeding season and it is probably nothing if she is already eating and drinking again... she told us to bring her in if it happens 'too much.' I hope my little Yoshi is better!
  11. Last night, as well as tonight (right now actually) Yoshi has been doing a lot of 'head bobbing' and then little bits of food come to her mouth... Sometimes this happens when she is on my hand and stuff, and I thought of it as regurgitating... but like right now she is on her stand a couple feet away doing it and a small slimy piece of walnut came outta her mouth... I got worried and have given her some water and she seems back to normal... but already has bits of stuff coming back up... I can see/hear her chewing on it from time to time... I'm starting to worry, so I thought I'd better ask...?
  12. How cool It must be so exciting watching her get better and better Can't wait till Yoshi can fly!
  13. I'm in the same boat Jill... yet Yoshi is 7 months old. She seems super happy and friendly, yet rarely tries any talking and is often actually totally silent... My husband and I are described as 'silent people', we aren't loud and we don't have a crazy household, but we have really gotten better at talking about things as we do them for Yoshi. She seems to understand 'lets go downstairs' as dinnertime and playstand time as Mike and I watch TV... etc etc. I realize Yoshi is young yet, but I can't help but be eager for her to talk, lol. Hopefully someday!
  14. So today I've been thinking, and thought I'd start this and see what people have to say Lol, I know some of my friends think I'm 'bird obsessed' and I only have 1 now! So here goes it: I know I'm bird obsessed because I can sit and watch my bird forever, getting into things and being goofy. Today in the kitchen I watched her for 15 minutes as she tried to figure out how we make water come out of the facet, trying to grab it with her beak and throwing water everywhere. I know I'm bird obsessed because I love visiting bird stores, even when I know we don't need anything. I visited a new store today just to play with the birds and talk to the fellow obsessed store owner with over 20 birds of her own! Finally for now, I know I'm obsessed with my baby because I can't get enough of this forum! I love hearing new stuff about everyone's Greys and getting ideas to try with my baby!
  15. Yoshi likes her carrots as well... but I'll keep that in mind for anything she decides doesn't suit her... Haven't had that problem with any foods actually, Yoshi loves food and will try absolutely anything... (even apple soap, much to my horror when I looked and saw what she was doing!). She probably gets her love of food from Mommy and Daddy lol
  16. Impressive! Thanks for sharing Makes me want Yoshi's feathers to hurry up and grow in so she can get the chance to fly too!
  17. Lol... good thing Chocko is okay Sorry about your wallpaper though!
  18. Awesome, glad to hear some good news Hope all keeps improving!
  19. Lol, that sounds funny Can't say I've ever heard of that before... maybe he wants to be a hamster? You should rename him Hamtaro...
