I saw an add on Kijji for a baby grey with a birth defect ,one of his feet turns to the right instead of going straight forward the breeder said it was a birth defect but other then that he is a beautiful baby boy , o we think he is a boy lol going to have to do a dna test to find out for sure he is a big grey I weighed when we got home from picking him up and he weighs 420 grams and he is 14 weeks old , his birthday is July 9,2010 I'am going to call the vet in the morning and set up a appointment asap and see what he says about his foot , he gets around really good for haveing a handicap but I have all his perches down low in his cage and the bottom of the cage is padded with papers and a towel just incase soooooooooooo heres Cody my hubby just adores him

http://dianesparrotplace.com/default.aspx that one I would be leary of if it is anything like Kaylee's place , it sounds like the same type of place , The lady that runs Kaylee's place does the same thing , she will find you a baby then she will hand feed it and wean it for you, only thing is she wants half the money for the baby before she will even start looking for a baby , then she weans it and you pay the rest of the money I didn't like the fact that I give her 600.00 and all I get is a peice of paper a written agreement then I sit and wait until she notifys me that she has my baby and since I don't know her that well what if she takes the 600.00 and I never hear from her again , thoose type of contracts make me uneasy , if it was me I would go with the breeder, call her and talk to her and get some refrences at least that way you can go and pick out your own baby and put a deposit on it

TOPS has no preservatives so it gets stale after 24 hours so I image it wouldn't taste to good and not as fresh
-
thoos are excellent pellets my birds was eating them but for some reason they seem to prefer Roudybush over TOPS , only thing about TOPS is if they leave any you have to toss them the next day and put in fresh , good thing about Roudybush is if they don't eat all of them I can leave them for 1 more day then toss whats left and put in fresh , I have 4 birds and I was tossing alot of pellets out every day so it did get costly in the long run

I talked to hubby about her and showed him the add and he said noooo , we have already made plans to go to Ohio next year to an excellent breeder and adopt a baby boy and he does not want to jepordize that in any way, his heart is set on that baby boy but I really hope she gets an excellent home with lots of good food and TLC

I just read this add , the lady is about 30 minutes from me that has this grey , I sent her an email but I'am kind of leary about adopting a 10 year old grey , plus she definitly has some health issues going on and I don't want to bring any type of sickness around my birds , if I was to quarenteen her she would still be in the same air space just another room ,I have to give this alot of thought any thoughts here? http://detroit.ebayclassifieds.com/birds/lincoln-park/congo-african-grey-for-sale/?ad=6553504

I work afternoons shift and hubby works days so it works out great for us,all of mine are out from 9am until I go to work then they go to their cages and are locked up until hubby comes home which is usually about 2 to 3 hours then right back out they come until bed time and thats around 9pm so they get plenty of sleep and lots of out of cage time and I have 2 playstands for them to play on so they keep pretty busy , he also feeds them their dinner at 6pm and every night , I give them their showers in the morning before I go to work , we have a good routine and it seems to work pretty well for us

Codys Mom replied to miniHUEY's topic in Classifieds Room
I handfed Rudy at 8 weeks old and I was a nervous wreck the whole time and she took forever to wean , I love how cuddly she was but I'am so glad it's over and she is a big girl now and nope I don't plan on doing again ,at least I hope not I have found a fantastic breeder here in michigan she is in Port Huron and she does ship if you are interested in fact she has 2 babies ready to go to their new home now , that is who I'am planning on getting our new baby cag from around March or April and she charges 1000.00 pm me if you want her site and her phone number -
ok I think I have made my final decission , I'am going with a breeder from Port Huron Michigan , her web page is Sweet Baby Greys she is about 1 hour 30 minutes from me and I'am going to wait till next year around february or march to get a baby and besides the fact she won't have any weaned babies until then , she does not sell unweaned babies she was highly recomended to me by a close friend in fact thats where she got her baby from , she says she is a super breeder

ok thanks I'am going to order 5lbs next time I make out the food order plus some palm nuts

I took Opey my Qauker to the bird store today for his usual nail clip , I have a really nice lady that works their and clips all my birds nails for free and I was looking at the supplies they had free samples of Lafebers Pellets so I grabed a few just to try them they haven't been eating their organic pellets all that much and wow they were a hit they all loved them so I'am thinking of adding Lafebers to the Organic pellets for now then maybe switching over to Lafebers , so does anyone use theese pellets and what do you think about them? I also called the 1-800 number on the sample package and they are sending me some free samples

I'am not sure this is the breeder I'am going to go with he seemed kinda pushy about me takeing a baby early like he doesn't want to do his job as a breeder and fully wean the baby , so I have a few more options I want to check out , I have someone I'am going to go see this saturday and check out her set up and see what she has to say ,I haven't made any real decissions yet so I guess I haven't found that really great breeder yet but I'am looking

yep yep sounds like th truth to me

I had a long talk with a breeder I personally know today she has eggs right now and she knows I have handfeeding experience and she ask me if I would like to take my baby between 8 and 9 weeks old, that's the same I age I adopted Rudy at and she was on 2 handfeedings a day boy do I remember thoose days but a different breeder , o yea did I forget to tell everyone we are adopting a new baby cag? ooopsss I'am still in the thinking about this process , for sure we are getting a new baby cag just not sure on the handfeedings part, one would be fine with me I always loved that nightly feeding with Rudy and then we would cuddle for a good 30 minutes to bad she had to grow up
-
awww I wish I could take him but I'am in Michigan and we already have plans to add a cag either soon or next spring , I'am working on soon lol
-
omg he almost sounds like real human baby , I think I would be scared to death to raise a baby that young , I would be worried about every thing , what a sweetie
-
Welcome to the Forum and sounds like you have your hands full lol I have a tag , Qauker , and gcc and a baby cag to come yet so looks like we have full plates lol
