-
heres what I buy and since Cody is still a baby I give him a very small amount in a syringe same for Rudy the other birds won't touch it
-
very nice pics
-
I love the box idea and I think Dayo is so smart and handsome
-
nice videos, we are keeping Cody full flighted one reason is because of his handi-cap one of his feet is really turned sideways, his leg was broke as a baby in the nest and the breeder didn't pull the babies until they were 4 weeks old so it was to late then his leg was already starting to heal crooked so the vet suggested we keep him fully flighted to help with his balance
-
ty both great videos
-
aww ty I try to feed him all healthy foods and lots of veggies his or her name will still be Cody , as far as I know it's a unisex name
-
now lets hope Cody is a boy, we have no posotive proof yet we are just guessing , soon I will take a dna test on him and we will find out , money is kind of short right now so I'am holding off until he needs a nail trim then I will send one off to Avian Biotech and find out
-
I think I got some better pics of Cody tonight , the last one is my favorite one
-
Cody goes after Squiggy's tail every chance he gets lol , Squiggy is our green cheek conure
-
O what a pretty girl she is , love thoose black eyes
-
he did much better today , he actually played on the playstand while I was cleaning some cages and he really likes Rudy's company so they did playsome together on top of her cage , I love that he is cuddly but it makes it hard when you can't sit for hours with him , I always sit with for awhile and play with him especially on my nights off we cuddle after I cover all the other birds and have some alone time
-
the breeders husband must have spent alotttttttt of time with him cuddling him and haveing him on his lap and his chest playing with foot toys Cody will eat his food then pace back and forthe in his cage until you open the cage door and let him out now he doesn't even want to play on his playstand he just wants to be cuddled or in your lap playing with a toy for hours and hours , it makes it hard when I have things around the house to do ,I spend alot of time with him but I also have house work to do and other birds to tend to , I can't sit with him in my lap for 3 or 4 hours any ideas how to unspoil him ?

I must be tired lol , I meant every bird gets along great here except for Pepper
-
the grey in the pic is my brothers grey and there is a Eckie in that pic to along with Opey my quaker , that was taken a few years back , he brought his birds over for a visit and I took thoose pics and Opey gets along great with his birds so I put them all on the playstand and grabbed a few pics , Rudy doesn't get along with either of them , Squiggy does ok . Pepper hates every bird he see's lol , not sure how Cody is going to react to them so far it's still peaceful here at the home front every except Pepper get along good , you ever see a grey trying to groom a green cheek lol Cody trys to groom Squiggy but I have to watch that because it looks like squiggy's head is almost in his mouth , he has way to big a beak lol

Great news congrads
-
o boy your right it is a big tray , well I will find out soon enough about cleaning it for right now we have a large towel across the whole cage and I have bubble wrap under that to cushion it because Cody tends to have a few falls , he thinks he can climb mountains sometimes and he can't but he sure does try
-
that divider comes in handy if I ever need it , what did you pay for your cage ? that one cost me $517.00 at the bird store plus I bought some other stuff for him so my total bill was $700.00 and the vet bill $250.00, I'am sooooo broke lol good thing all my birdies have lots of food and toys to last for awhile
-
I think he really likes his new cage , he has been all over it , to bad they didn't have the colors I wanted , I wanted white or platnum but all they had in stock was Sandstone , dark blue or dark green so I went with Sandstone and wow are cages getting expensive theese days Cody Pics http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/LADY_DEBRA_2007/100_0506.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/LADY_DEBRA_2007/100_0503.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/LADY_DEBRA_2007/100_0505.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/LADY_DEBRA_2007/100_0499-1.jpg http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u93/LADY_DEBRA_2007/100_0498.jpg

we went to vet at 3pm and he did the usual blood test and fecal exam then he took xrays of Cody's leg , Cody does not have a birth defect his leg was broke in the nest somehow , the breeder told me she did not remove the babies , they were 3 in his clutch until they were around 4 weeks old why she waited so long is a good question my vet wanted to know that answer to , I have no answer to that one , so his leg was broke and it has healed crooked and out of line My vet said he could rebrake it but he highly recomended leaving as is , it would be a very high risk surgery if he was to do it and he gave me a good 6 or 7 reasons why not to do surgery on him , at least we know it is not a birth defect he took 2 sets of xrays and you could see where the break was and how it healed Good news is other then all of that Cody is a good healthy boy , he weighed in at 430 grams which my vet was very happy about and all his tests came back excellent he said give him a little extra calcium for his bones and highly suggested giving him some Red Palm Oil about 3 times a week , his feather do look a little raggedy and me and hubby went to the bird store this evening and bought Cody his new cage , I will take some pics tomorrow and post them , he now has a half dome , half square with playtop cage , it's 42 inches wide so he should have plenty of room to move around in and I ordered a Squawters perch for him tonight plus some palm oil , I think he loves his new cage he was climbing all over it and it only took hubby 3 hours to put it together I will post some pics tomorrow heading for bed it's been a very long day here

I'am planiing on going to the bird store saturday was going sunday but I have to work and see what they have in cages and I was planning on getting him a rope perch I see they do make them for 36 inch cages but not for 40 inch I'am not sure what size or style of cage I'am getting just yet I want to get another opinion from my vet and go with that , just hopeing and praying he can somehow fix his leg with out doing any type of surgery ,I actually think he could wrap it up with bandage and kind of move it more straight but I don't know it's turned pretty bad , more than 50% so keeps Cody in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow and I will let everyone know what the out come is
-
I will let everyone know what the vet says friday night , I'am hopeing that he can do something without doing any type of surgery on him ,I lowered the perches a little more and he is doing better at perching but he insists on going up high where you put the food bowls at , but not to eat just to hang out there , he slept in his food bowl last night then this morning I moved them back down to the bottom of the cage , he isn't eating alot with his food at the bottom of the cage , so I put his food back to the top where he insists on going on put a perch there and the same for his water bowl and you can forget leaving him in his cage all day he has a fit and gets very loud if you don't let him out of the cage for awhile and what a cuddle bug, he layed on my chest for almost 2 hors today before I went to work, I think he got lots of extra attention by the breeders husband because her husband said he was going to miss his cuddle bug

I don't know what to take out of his and what to leave , our poor baby has a terrible time just trying to perch on anything unless you sit him on a perch then he has a hard time getting down and I have his perches low , I also have a boing in there but I'am going to take it out tomorrow it's just getting in his way for now maybe when he gets stronger I can put it back in , he has terrible balance and almost no gripping power, he fell a few times in his cage today but I have his cage padded with thick newspaper and a big heavy towel , hubby said he fell off the playstand twice today to so we have a big towel on the bottom of that to , my poor little guy is really haveing a hard time here and I'am not sure what to do to help him I will be glad to get him to the vet friday and hopefully he can do something to help him but I won't let him break his leg and reset it to me that's to risky , I talked to my vet today for a few minutes before I made the appointment and he did say he needs a large cage in his opinion that way he will have more room to spread out and move around , I have him in a starter cage for now it's 32 wide and it's tall with a playtop , my vet said get him froma 36 to a 40inch dome type cage not a square cage with a playtop that way he will have more room inside and he has the bottle brush playgym if he ever learns to stay on it to play on anyone else have any ideas? and just think the breeder I bought him from said he was getting around real good sure he was anything for a sale I guess
