  1. Biscotti is having his first big molt. He will be 11 mo. on Sat. He has been losing the fluffy downy feathers for a couple months & is now beginning to lose bigger feathers. So far 2 big flight feathers & several red tail feathers. His chest looks very scruffy, is this normal looking for the first big molt? He seems to feel & act perfectly normal... wilder than a March Hare!! Very vocal, playing & eating all normal. His back looks fine, I have added a couple pics of his front & back. Please just let me know if this looks normal, I'm a worried bird mom. Thank you!!
  2. Thank you, luvparrots!! Greywings your girls are beautiful & a great shot of them!!
  3. I love seeing everyones other pets they share their lives with!! Such beauties!! Besides my dear feathered friend Biscotti, I have an 8 yr old Rottie- Mandy. A 12 yr old German Shorthair, Annie. My 27 yr old horse Cognac, whom I have had since she was 2 yrs old!! And lots of cattle that most would not consider pets, but they are all very dear friends & we spend time together daily. The pic is of one of the first baby calves born this year, a sweet baby girl whom I have named Spring. I really love my animals and cannot even imagine a life without them.
  4. How exciting!! Can't wait to see pics!
  5. Thank you judygram & luvparrots! Yes, I'm afraid he got that laugh from me. We sound like a bunch of loonies around here, he laughs which always makes me laugh, then he laughs even more! I'm glad we live out in the country or the neighbors would swear we all are ready for the nut house.
  6. Thank you Janfromboone! I think he is experimenting with his vocal ranges. He says "hello" in a very deep voice sometimes, no clue where he got that- maybe the TV?
  7. Yeah Spock!! So glad you are feeling better, you look marv ! That "good water" is the answer to everything. I love your posts, but I can't read them to Biscotti, he doesn't need any ideas- he seems to find enough mischief on his own!
  8. Emma is always so enjoyable to listen to, she speaks so clearly & what a vocabulary!
  9. Thank you for your nice comments about my little piggy Biscotti !!
  10. Wow! Great news about Harvey. Did you secretly bring in an exorcist? How long did this "bite the human" phase go on? Biscotti seems to be entering that zone- so I may eventually need your exorcists name!
  11. I was planning to do that with Biscotti from the first time I met him & took pictures when he was just a couple weeks old. Start an album and add pics & notes about what he was doing & learning as he got older. I still hope to, have A LOT of pics & since he is just 10 mo.old hopefully I'll get started while he's young! It would be so fun to go back through the years when he is older.
  12. Here is a new link to Biscotti saying his version of his name & making piggy noises. He is such a ham!!
  13. That is actually an old video from a few months ago, I use sunflower kernels for his reward. He only gets them for his "trick training", so they are a very special treat for him.
  14. Hi Mae & Obi! Cute original name for your sweet little "butthead". My baby Biscotti is about 10 1/2 mo. now & he too can be a butthead at times! I'm pretty new myself & also learning lots, this is a great place to do that! Everyone is very helpful & willing to share experiences. Welcome!
  15. This is really cute! I love how he dances around while he sings!
  16. Here is a short video of Biscotti being silly. ( yes, this link works- sorry about the other one, I will try to figure out what happened there)
  17. Glad to hear you are feeling like pole dancing Spock!! Keep it up!
  18. Shanti is beautiful and obviously a VERY happy bird!! Thanks for sharing this video!
  19. This is great!! I really had to smile- sounds SO familiar!!! You really have a good sense of what may be going on in their complex little birdy brains!
  20. That's odd the link won't work- maybe because I just put the video up??? You can type my user name in the YouTube search box & it will come up. Chelsealynn82
  21. Here is a short video of Biscotti trying to say his name & making piggy noises. Such a ham!
  22. Thank you all! As I said we are really glad to be back- you guys are the only one's I have to share the great "grey passion" with. Most people just don't get it. Oh well, it's their loss!
  23. I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem with Yoshi. I personally don't have much experience to share, but the May issue of Bird Talk has some articles about noise & other problem issues that can come up with parrots. I haven't read it all yet, but general jist was ignoring unwanted behavior & big time positive reinforcement for the right stuff. Not to get into a drama contest by yelling back at them or making a big scene because in a way they are getting reinforced for unwanted behavior by getting your attention. If you can read the articles, hope they help & hope you get some more replys from the more experienced members.
  24. Hi all, it's been a while since I"ve posted. I changed browsers & lost my saved password, then had to wait for forum changes to be made to be sent a new password. So Biscotti & I haven't been able to post for awhile. I think the last time I posted Biscotti had started saying his first words, "what are you doing?" Well the flood gates have opened!! He is constantly learning new words & phrases & the cutest is him saying his name. He says it with a little lisp and sometimes just says "Bis-cott" instead of Biscotti. It is so sweet. I am going to make some videos of him jabbering & get them up for you to hear. He is TOO funny! He is just 10 months old now, I think he's going to be quite a jabber box! I am enjoying him SO much!! Here's a picture of him begging for scritches!
  25. Sweet, dear Spock we are sending such powerful thoughts your way. Keep on fighting to get better. Everytime I log on the first thing I look for is an update on your condition. You are SO loved.
