2. They are fab Bernie - well worth the wait! Now, you need to get them printed and ship them over to Judy as a permanent reminder......!
3. Phew! I thought this was a posting by Victoria Beckham - but realised that she's famous for her "golden balls"! I forgot to post that I tried this on Saturday - but left of the raisins as Harvey hates them - he loved them! Thanks for this Adina - I'm always looking for something to make Harvey to entice him a little more xx
4. I think his stuff is absolutely fabulous too Dan - he is so clever - I just wish he'd pop round to a pavement near me one day!
5. You have done a great thing by rescuing this amazon - no doubt it's had something terrible done to it to make it behave so horribly towards your other birds - but it really does need removing to another room - for both of the birds' safety. Also - welcome to the forum - I hope you continue with us when your parrot woes have subdued.
6. Aly - I'm a 35 year old married woman - and the next time I'm looking for a bloke it'll be on www.findmeamillionaire.com!! (I wish I had a counter on how many people press this link!!!)

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/11/03 20:00
7. Can anyone clear up for once and for all the debate about sweetcorn and spinach. I read it's good for greys, I read it's bad for greys, I read it's full of iron, I read it blocks absorption of much needed vitamins and minerals. Harvey loves both - but I am at a loss how often to give him any with all of this conflicting advice - what do you think?

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/11/03 19:53
8. I thought I was special - you have to go and spoil things don't you - Hi - my name is Herbert, and I'm meeting her next Saturday!!! Nah - I noticed the description on the "users" bit when she/he/it/them/alien life form is online - but Debbie - I haven't been PMd either
9. Well, it's TOOT time again - and in honour of Judy serving her country at the polls today - I'll have one for her - no, don't worry, don't try and stop me folks - just part of the service! I have got some lovely bottles of beer cooling in the fridge!!
10. Yet another Emma classic! I must try Harvey on them - thanks for this - I loved it!
11. Ah, Debbie - I hope this person finds her baby, safe and sound. It sounds like she won't give up looking and there are members around the Northampton area. Send her my best wishes.
12. Goodness, some of you have some big boys and girls! Harvey runs anywhere between 430 and 445g after his morning "bomb". I have been weighing him each morning for a while as I was worried he wasn't eating as much as he had been - I needn't have worried, his weight hasn't fluctuated much. Now, the length thingy - Harvey is only probably about 12 inches long (I've tried my best with the ruler I promise you Julie!!) - I don't think he's a big frame - he's slender and toned (a bit like his mammy!!)
13. Ha Ha! I would have been howling too! Good old Charlie - knows what he wants out of life! By the way Caroline - I'm loving that picture - so cute!!
14. Goodness - that piece of bread is nearly as big as him! Spock is enjoying that alright!! Thanks for sharing this - what a sweetie xx
15. I panicked when I first tried the harness on Harvey - and this was conveyed to him. He steered clear of me for a bit too - I'd frightened him with my panic and of course he reciprocated my fear. Harvey's was back to "normal" in no time at all - I've learned not to over-react to any situations involving Harvey as I know how he'll react too. You'll not do it again as you know now what harm it can do - keep working with Sinbad - he'll be fine, it'll be over and forgotten in no time!
16. This is an absolute tragedy and I feel for you so much. As Robin says, it is instinct and natural ability for a dog to act in this way. If you keep the little nest it will always be a reminder of your beautiful Joey. Time heals, as they say, and it is true.
17. Dave I have loved watching the three stooges come from eggs to lovely little chicks - thank you for the pleasure xx
18. OMG Cindy - I can't believe it was a sentence too!! What a good little boy Chimay is! I am so, so jealous!!! As they say - let the flood gates open!!!!
19. That's great Sheila - Harvey has one in his cage and doesn't look the side of it - perhaps a smaller one like Charlie's might do the trick!
20. Is this a jigsaw puzzle or a boat? I seemed to think we were discussing a boat - but now you have all the pieces.......! :woohoo:
21. Well that's Kaytee then! They glow in the dark!!!! I've tried Harvey on Harrisons - he is about as interested in the Harrisons as I am in a pork chop! Domyoburk - it seems you have tried everything in the book to aid your baby - and it's good you have found a vet that you trust - that's my next goal !!!
22. How thoroughly bizarre! I've just checked on what my pellets contain though - and I am at a loss how I would supplement Harvey's diet with those minerals and vitamins that the pellets give - surely the pellets aren't made as a "supplementary gimmick" and our parrots really do need these? I give Harvey pellets (Kaytee)along with his seeds, nuts, fruit, veg, beans and rice too. Considering these pellets are so expensive, surely they must be a need, rather than an addition? I am pleased though that Ursula's problem does seem to have been remedied

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/11/02 13:37
23. I'm gutted - I'm at work and they block You Tube - just in case we have too much fun - I'll have to wait until I get home!!!
24. judygram wrote: I sense blackmail here!!!!! We did get some photos - but not of the parrot!
25. It was lovely here in the North East of England yesterday so we decided to harness Harvey up and go for a stroll to the beach. He's never been before so it was going to be a new experience for us all! There were hundreds of seagulls (there's a fish and chip shop and people tend to feed them) and they worried Harvey a little (for about 10 seconds) and we went to take a seat for a rest. I could tell he wasn't quite sure of the situation - he stuck to my shoulder like super glue and nuzzled into my neck. We then went for a walk and he was the star of the show (it's not common in the UK to be strolling along the beach with a parrot on your shoulder!!!) Yes, I did get asked if he was a pigeon by three people - and the others all had parrot stories to tell too!! I didn't get a photo of him - he just kept turning each time we tried! I'll get him next time though!
