1. Hi Dolfan 123. What about some sort of ledges constructed with little ramps (obviously at a shallow angle). This will help him get to the top of his cage (as obviously they like to be at the highest point possible). You don't say whether your baby is clipped or flighted? He would be able to flutter between ledges if flighted. I would probably have something soft in the bottom of the cage in case he takes a tumble though - perhaps a blanket or cushion.
2. A Mercedes McClaren SLR Where in the world would you like to be at this present moment?
3. Ha Ha Ha! You've got your work cut out there Lyn! Luckily you know who "Mary" is - imagine if you'd been away for the weekend and Alfie chirps up "Hello Mary" - what on earth had David been up to while you'd been away!!! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours too. Jill xx

5. danmcq wrote: And let me introduce you to the forum stud muffin!! Ha Ha! Okay Brad Pitt - I apologise profusely
6. Ha Ha Ha! Oh Dee - we so have to watch these little critters! Harvey also worked out how to open his door VERY early on - I now have a quick link around it to stop his capers - luckily we were in when he got out!! The other day I must not have closed one of his food doors correctly (I obviously swear I did) - but considering we have a plan of action - I close it and Michael's supposed to check it on his way out to work, the door was wide open when I came in! Luckily Harvey hadn't ventured outside - I shudder to think what he could have done!!!
7. danmcq wrote: And to please the universe, please ensure that when you decide to video your shirt is firmly on!! OMG - that list is exhaustive - Harvey is going in his cage until he's at least, erm, let's see - ONE! (which is next week!!!)!!
8. There are a number of forum members here who have more than one grey, or indeed more than one bird. I have always said that I couldn't cope - Harvey keeps me on my toes - but others breeze on through it - depends on the type of person that you are. I am so houseproud it is unbelievable - well, at least I was until the retrobate moved in! I can keep on top of one load of muck and destruction, but two or even three would drive me to distraction. I think that it is entirely up to the type of person the owner is whether than more than one is compatible in a household - you greys might never be friends, but it's a risk you would take! Good luck and I look forward to learning more about you
9. Thank you - I might manage another one - but need a subject - any suggestions? :?
10. I have a quite expensive lamp in the conservatory that you wouldn't be able to sell for a fiver now - the lampshade looks like "a sky at night" - the amount of holes is ridiculous! He makes a beeline for it and before you get to him he has sunk his beak in - it's ruined!! I now have to buy a new shade for it - but I'll be putting a cushion over it before he's next allowed in there!!
11. Supernova wrote: So, have you fitted the adaptation of the bottom of ice skates? What happens when the pond freezes - I can see a big crash happening!!!
12. Caitlin - we pay loads of money for a unique style at the hair stylist - Ecko's just showing you that he doesn't need to spend tons on looking good!!! What I find most fascinating about this is that it is totally symmetrical - not uneven and not untidy.
13. Hi spmartin - Harvey does this too - I do exactly as Judy describes - he likes being on your head when you're on the computer, or I'm at my dressing table. What he's doing is totally normal - attention seeking!! Can't wait to hear more about you and Pookie - what a lovely name!
14. judygram wrote: A full week of entertainment and the only "right back at ya" that she can come up with is a statement of which everyone is already aware!!! :woohoo: Tomorrow is into the second week of the "non-Judy" variety - perhaps we can quieten down this thread and let her all know what we've had for our breakfast and lunch? That might keep her more in touch, as she obviously doesn't enjoy the entertainment value of this thread!!! Oh - and if you can all log in how many times you've been to the toilet - then that's good too! Judy - you will be begging for my big ego back at the end of next week!!!
15. Absolutely excellent Bernie!!! Karma to you for my giggle!!!! :woohoo:
16. Ah, bless him Janet - that is soooo cute - I've never seen it before. Katie's just come down the stairs crying laughing to show me a video that she finds hilarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9PX_GijLs4 All I will say is she is very cruel!!!!
17. That toy is so cool Pat - to update it and add new bits of wood will be relatively cheap, compared to new toys etc. As usual I sit here and seethe! I would love a Macaw - but they are too big for me and my home!!
18. His back feathers are waterproof - the water just runs off there anyway - and in time he will "fluff up" and let you underneath. The "non-waterproof" feathers are on their chests and under their wings (armpits!)and these are the areas that they are most prone to dry, itchy skin and flaking - so a good soaking here is beneficial for them. Keep trying - one day that full soak will come (Harvey is one next week and I have achieved only one true "drench")!
19. Well, as requested I tried to video Harvey today - so top of the stairs we started - he stepped up, but as soon as I moved he flew at the camera! He's in love!! And I really mean it - full droopy wings and grunting! OMG!!! I have now removed it from his vicinity!!!
20. Not Scotland (but near enough - damn Hadrian didn't build that wall high enough !!!) - but I can direct you to my breeder in Bedlington, Northumberland: www.parrotcare.com A few members have bought their babies from John - they are so caring and professional xx
21. Hi Pep ~ Welcome to our family! Well, Timmeh and I have something in common (just put that in before anybody else said it)! I can't believe it's taken you so long to find us!!! I look forward to getting to know you - get some photos taken of Timmeh!!!
22. Ha Ha! Multi-faceted - never been called that before!!! Yes Dee, I did make it up - it is one of my deeply hidden talents that I still harbor from those school days!!! danmcq wrote: Well Dan - If I haven't been kicked off the forum this time next year - perhaps I shall work this into the next episode

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/12/12 13:33
23. That's absolutely wonderful that baby is so happy in water - keep up the good work - great video - thanks for sharing
24. Hey, you won't be stuck in a power cut! You'll have Bismark to hold to torch whilst you go look for the fusebox! See, who says canaries are the only useful birds in industry!!! Great update - Bismark certainly is a cutie!
25. Thanks for the update Charlene - it's good to hear that things are going well on the home front. Poor Tango getting stick from Whisper - Tango will get his/her own back in due time!! Yeah - pictures of your two would be good - I agree with Janet!
