Ha Ha! You're right Dee - Alfie has the neck of a giraffe!! Harvey "helped" me last night too - by flying in, and out, and in and out - and you know the power their wings have - the paper was thrown all over, gift tags all over - I gave up in the end! Great shot of Alfie Lyn - she's right in the midst of it!!

Rich Tea! Rich Tea! They're no good for dunking (Peter Kay moment)!!! What a great picture of Alfie - what a tinker! Great picture Lyn x

I regularly save animals - this is how ridiculous I am! When it rains, the worms come out - but perilously the sun comes out too! If I'm on a pavement where a little worm is trying to get back to the wet of the mud or grass, I pick it up! I know - kind of sick - but I've done it since I was a kid! My friends think I am loopy!! I do it with snails too - just to help them along their way - I do hope they were going in that direction though!!

Supernova wrote: Oh, right, so that's how far up the priority list the rest of his babes are - one has to earn a living during her waking hours (which aren't Bernie's) and that's it - he's leaving!! Well, I am hurt

SnidelysBuddy1 wrote: Classic first liner - love it!! Welcome to you (and Snidely)! Harvey has full roam of the house (when we are in) but he is never left alone for more than a minute (because after that I am sure death and destruction would occur)! Like Janet says - there are tons of threads about hazards and dangers - some of which will surprise you - I know they did me! It's common sense past that though - looking forward to seeing some pictures

When I bought Harvey I was given a really helpful leaflet about "parrot security" - including things like keeping the cage out of view of windows, padlocks to the cage etc. Obviously once a grey is under a jacket or a blanket it will go quiet and easily smuggled out of the home. The padlock is a deterrent as they can't be bothered with trying to get it off - just a quick smash and grab. Like Ben, Harvey is very vocal and you can hear him out in the stree - especially in the summer when he's in the conservatory - or indeed when I have him in the garden. I hope these beasts are caught. Thanks for the heads up Bernie x

After all that careful preparation too - I thought you had it all well in hand. What a shame. Hopefully Rachael will be able to spend more time with Ipo and realises was a valuable member of the family he is. Good luck looking for a baby - I think you are very prepared for your journey into grey ownership and look forward to hearing your progress xx

The absolute only time she'll come down...

That's the only time Harvey ever goes to the bottom of his cage too - I'm sure it's in case they think we are stealing something that belongs to them! -
I'm warm thinking about you! Happy Holidays to all of you in Greece (even if we do have snow and you're basking in the blazing heat!!!). I'm not bitter! Fab picture - is that a pigeon on your balcony?

Merry Christmas to you all x

What a beautiful story Dan - if only more people were like this in real life.

Oh dear me - you've just spoiled it! Is that a Manchester United duvet cover!!! Those poor, poor babies!  What great pictures - they look quite at ease with each other - hope it continues xx

I've had quite a heavy cold (not flu - had my jabs) for the past 5 days or so - my nose is so red that I could guide the sleigh on Thursday night! Yesterday after blowing my nose for the millionth time I realised there was an echo. It was Harvey, mimicking EXACTLY my nose blowing technique!! Oh how gracious!! Let's hope that during Christmas dinner with the family round he doesn't decide to entertain with his latest display!

Brilliant Dan - thanks for the heads up - next time you're in the UK - no shopping trips

What an absolutely wonderful and thoughtful thing to do - karma to you for being such a caring person. Dee will completely appreciate this gesture - she knows we are all here for her - but a tribute like this is second to none. Thank you.

That little boy had more love, care and kindess in the last six months (because this is how long you knew he was yours for) and has had the best month being in your care. He couldn't have asked for more from you, your vet or your breeders.

I read it and thought you were annoyed for living in Peterborough - I would be too I hope someone does buy your grey and he goes to a loving home - he clearly doesn't have one where he is! I wonder if I can put the kids up for sale - they annoy me!!! As Dan describes - greys do bite - the old "flip their head" routine is one of the best in the business. Good luck in finding a new owner - but please sell him responsibly - not in the Sunday Sun!
-
Oh you are going to be in SO MUCH TROUBLE when Judy sees these Bernie. It's been lovely knowing you!!!
-
How exciting! Harvey and your baby may be distant relatives!! Can't wait to see some photos!
-
I use the quick links too - after a similar escape by Harvey early on. Great picture - I wish Harvey would have a rest during my waking hours!!
-
Pep - it's snowed since 2pm - but the roads are clear! Northumberland has at least gritted - just hope that Scotland has adopted the gritters this evening!!!

Dee I have just logged in to see how Juno is doing. There are now tears strolling down my cheeks. I cannot believe that such a wished for and wanted baby has departed us and I am absolutely gutted for you and your family. We became friends even before Juno became a fixture in your home and we have all followed his and your journey to date. I absolutely feel your pain and can't believe that such a fabulous parront has had their such loved baby taken from them. I just cannot believe it. You know where I am xxxxx

Gosh, Dan, I have followed your instructions - you are right - no mess, no noise, no destruction - those books stay on the shelves brilliantly! Thank you for your fantastic tip - karma for such inspiration! PS. My next plaster of paris concept involves hamsters, chickens and goats, so please PM me if you have any spare

Peanut is beautiful - welcome to our family - any spare rooms for June 2010? Always fancied SA at that time of year!!! Joking asides, you will find everything you need to keep peanut happy and healthy here xxx

Ha Ha Ha! They are our Christmas lights around the conservatory - just above those blinds he loves to pick off - hence the door being clamped shut! I only hope that if these are aliens they take him home quickly - these greys aren't easy to keep!!!
