  1. Those pictures of the sun are absolutely beautiful. I do confess I don't understand any of it - but I can appreciate gorgeous photos! Thanks for these Bernie x I am really enjoying the fact the you and Dan SEEM to know what you are talking about - I might learn something!!!!
  2. I turned round last night to look for Harvey in his usual places and couldn't see him - but then found him: Is he trying to tell me something?<br><br>Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/12/19 11:06
  3. I awoke this morning and saw your posting about Juno being stable and accepting food etc. This sound like a good sign and I will check back regularly for an update - even if I can't sign in. Come on Juno - we're all praying and willing you to recover quickly.
  4. Yoshi will be fine - and probably love you more than ever on your return. When we went on holiday and my parents had Harvey we came home and he was stuck to my face for a week after - things will be fine - don't worry x
  5. Ah! A new room! How lovely!!! Harvey has missed celebrating his birthday by two days!!!! Oh well, only 363 more to go until I can share any news - so come on - share your happy news with me!!! What a great idea!! Thanks for this!
  6. Oh, here in the UK we've had about 2mm of snow and everything comes to a stand still!! The roads have not been gritted - travel is a nightmare! I am lucky - I leave for work very early with very little traffic on the road - this morning I just skidded onto roundabouts and into the middle of the road etc! Rear wheel drive cars are no good in the snow! It's so cold here - and obviously my poor virus isn't helping - thank you so much for the sympathy - you were clearly a nurse in your prior life!!!!
  7. Mmm - space ships - what about aliens - can I talk about them?
  8. So no sympathy here then!!! I have changed my plans - the hubby is now picking up the socialite and I am now gargling with stella for my poor throat!!!
  9. Oh Dee - I've just come on half way through your chat with Dave and knew there was something wrong. Little Juno is in the best hands possible - and your driving all that way shows what a fantastic parront you are. I've been with you - as all of us have, since the conception of Juno - and all feel your pain and suffering at the moment. My prayers and thoughts are with you - you know where I am and here for you xxxx Come on Juno - get yourself better and stop worrying this lovely lady.
  10. You big fat liar you! Anyway - what do I know about fish? I said I didn't understand it and said that I couldn't talk about something in the future - I'm not Gypsy Rose Lee - you sent me a 1 million word dissertation to read before I could join your thread!!!
  11. Supernova wrote: Oh no - a pauper carrier! I would rather walk! :woohoo: :woohoo:
  12. What a naughty boy Ecko is! Ha Ha! When they want something they certainly go all the way to get it don't they! Great photo x
  13. Harvey doesn't play with things when he's out of his cage - other than coconut with the husks that he can pull off and make a mess. If I offer him anything else to chew he rarely chews it out of his cage - I don't know if you can get the coconut husk type toys where you are, but Harvey will pull the fibres apart for ages. It's worth a try - I know my description isn't too good - I'll try and find a picture to help!!!
  14. I am really surprised that your pet shops sell parrots. When I got Harvey my breeder supplied me with an RSPCA booklet about weaning and the laws against selling them unweaned etc. It also had an article in about selling birds bigger than cockatiels - and it stated that unless the shop was a private breeder they could not sell them. I don't think I have it now though. But - clearly it's not against the law if they are for sale near yous.
  15. Go Bernie, go Bernie, go Bernie!!!
  16. Well, I want to tell Judy that I have a cold! I have a sore throat, a pair of bags under my eyes that santa could carry and a red nose that could guide his sleigh - but, being a woman I am soldiering on!!!!! Oh, yes, there's snow here this morning - I came into work on totally untreated roads, skidded onto roundabouts etc and luckily there were no cars in my way!!!! I won't be F.A.R.Ting tonight either - the 15 year old has a social life and needs picking up!!!
  17. Great link Sheila - a one that bird owners old and new should visit. Thanks for this x
  18. What a fab poem Lyn ~ I was picturing the whole scenario as I read it xx
  19. It's so lovely to hear what leaps and bounds Simba is taking. He looks so different since he was lucky enough to find you. Thanks for sharing these x
  20. Thank you for this Dan - it's a beautiful poem and brings to the forefront how valuable our overseas boys and girls are. I am very proud of our service men/women and at this special time of year it is a poignant reminder of how we live our lives and enjoy our freedom allowed by brutal conflicts in recent memory. Karma to you for making me cry this morning.
  21. Welcome to our family - it's great you are taking in an older grey - you will find it rewarding each step you take with it. Can't wait to see some photos.
  22. I love these e cards by an English artist called Jacquie Lawson ~ especially at this time of year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all xxx http://www.jacquielawson.com/preview.asp?cont=1&hdn=0&pv=3169996 http://www.jacquielawson.com/preview.asp?cont=1&hdn=0&pv=3175361 http://www.jacquielawson.com/preview.asp?cont=1&hdn=0&pv=3175360 http://www.jacquielawson.com/preview.asp?cont=1&hdn=0&pv=3175803

    Tango Here

Oh Tango - you are quite beautiful and thank you for the run down of your friends. The two most important ones that you haven't praised (but do give a slight acknowledgement to) are Jay and Maggie - they are great - all of those lucky birds as well as yourself are lucky to have such caring, sharing parronts and I'll thanks them on your behalf. Karma from gorgeous Tango to his very, very deserving parronts!!
  24. Gimmick, gimmick, gimmick! What a load of rubbish! What a shame for that poor bird (if indeed it is that bird in the picture!!). Pity Ireland doesn't adopt the same "bird selling" laws as the UK - the pet shops aren't allowed to sell anything bigger than a budgie!! I would say definitely no to the talking - the blinkng thing (if it is lucky) has just weaned, let alone talked!!! I would steer well clear of morons like this!!
