  1. Yes, I agree with Janet - foam isn't a good thing really - it might go in small, but obviously expands. I would steer clear of the foam and the packing foam. It's like some toys contain cork - I don't particularly think that's too safe either.
  2. I fail to see why this is funny!!! {Feel-good-0002006E} Gosh, imagine!!! Him as admin one day and me as world dominator! Hey Janet - watch this space!! {Characters-0002005F}
  3. Oh Tam - I am so sorry. I have had experience of visceral gout - but it was in my 17 year old cockatiel. The vet assured me that he was in no pain at all with the visceral gout - it's a build of of uric crystals when kidneys start to fail, but at the end it attacked his joints (he developed articular gout). There are many ways you can slow down the deterioration - good clean water supply and encourage drinking (flushes the kidneys). I don't know about a time scale - but my vet said that Spiky had had it for many years before the symptoms of articular gout appeared. Once again, I am so sorry - but now you know you can help him live his days out happily and try and promote good health in him.
  4. I always laugh at the tofu you feed the girls Chris - as a veggie I can think of nothing worse!! Just as well the parrot doesn't have the same taste sensations that we do! Soggy bits of sponge - bah!! I know you swear by it to calm them in their hormonal times - but it's still minging!!
  5. I thought it was faucet too!! What about what we call rubbish bins?
  6. The idea of this game is that each poster takes a turn to write "What the Queen Wouldn't Do". Remember - this is a family forum I'll start: The Queen wouldn't put the bins out on Monday.
  7. Harvey nearly fell off his perch as I still had the volume up high from our chat yesterday!!! Actually - I nearly fell off the chair too!! Great film Bernie - well worth the wait - perhaps next time for a little bit of suspense will you practice on a day that the lake is full of ducks!
  8. OMG! We have a star in our midst!! I didn't realise this was THE interview starring you Chris!! Karma to you for being our shining little star
  9. Ha Ha Ha! We wish for it to happen, prompt them to speak by repeating it a million times a day and when it happens BANG - we get sick of them and tell them to shut up! :woohoo: This is reminiscent of the kids though isn't it!!! We've gone full circle!! Harvey's not saying much in public - I think he's shy like his mammy  and therefore prefers to talk in private!!
  10. judygram wrote: Mmm, I think I might be borderline!!!! Well, this morning tried to get on first thing - site was down so I had to do some real, paid work - not happy - can admin sort out the technical stuff when I'm asleep please? It's not long until Saturday now Judy - we'll all be able to catch up then (well, my banning order permitting as I still have three whole days of riotus activity before you can rein me back in!!!) :woohoo:
  11. Supernova wrote: Back to my german roots and moustache again Bernie - bah!!! Yes, Bernie's boat did work (for a moment) and I have issued a public apology - but take it all back now that he's knacked it again!!! Yes Dan - you are also quite correct - I already do have world domination, but I am a little shy  and don't readily promote myself :woohoo:
  12. Well, my name is Jill and when I was little my parents used to call me JillyBeanz - it was better than what others used to call me - such as Jilly Willy!! Actually - my mam still does call me JillyBeanz from time to time  Great subject Bernie - karma to you for starting it.
  13. Course it's regularly! He's a little so and so!! I must say - the view from my landing, down the stairs and through the hall is amazing - I must take some photos for you all!!!
  14. Great subject Dave - and so easily explained. Thanks for this - I hope never to have to put your excellent advice to work
  15. Unfortunately Greywings - the bad guys can make our that they are good guys through the media of the internet. I'd like to think that every one of the friends I have here are genuine, loving, caring parronts - but strictly speaking we could all (me included) be lying through our back teeth about who we are, where we are etc (indeed, do I even own a bird I think it is a good idea though - although I am unsure my nerves could handle the responsibility of two morons in the house - I have enough trouble with one!!
  16. I've been wondering over the past few weeks whether parrots suffer from motion sickness. I say this because when I retrieve Harvey from wherever he shouldn't be (say upstairs) and I whizz down the stairs (turning flight) then whip him back into the living room (another quick turn) I am obviously moving him very quickly (like we would be on a roller coaster). He's never been sick, nor looked dizzy - but I wonder should I take the pace slightly slower and smoother? This might be an absolutely ridiculous question - but I do get some strange thoughts from time to time
  17. What a great picture - your baby is digging into that! That would keep Harvey quiet for a bit!! Thanks for sharing - what a great idea
  18. What a great orbit! I wish I could make things - alas I can't! Thanks for sharing
  19. I can't believe that it's only a month!!! Juno has been around for so long I believe I was there at the conception! Zzzelama you will be fine - I am sure - it's always going to be apprehensive having such a precious gift
  20. :woohoo: What great news that Gizmo can fly!! My Harvey hasn't been clipped and there is no better feeling of being in another room and just calling him and along he comes! He finds me upstairs and downstairs - it's great! Mind you - now that Gizmo can fly you'll find the little deviant will be into all sorts!!! Best of Luck!! :woohoo:
  21. Ha Ha! I'm plotting my world domination - if I need any help I shall give you a call!! See Judy - there's no stopping me! I am even corrupting the boss!!! :woohoo:
  22. Glad your visit went well - the more you socialise Bismark the more accustomed he will come to future outings. Thanks for the photos - Bismark is lovely
  23. Great subject Sheila - and great site! I too look forward to hearing about other people's native birds - ooh, how interesting! Karma to you for such a great subject xx
  24. What a great toy Pat - it's HUGE!! Chatot seems to be loving it! He looks so comfortable and it doesn't seem like you haven't had him forever! He's a little cutie!
