Harvey likes nothing better than a good old chew on a chicken bone (ensuring the chicken is cooked of course). Don't ever offer your grey (or any animal for that matter) raw or uncooked meat. He also likes a bit of the chicken now and then - but doesn't get meat every day - perhaps once a week.

Follow the light........! Actually - I have a rather nice halogen uplighter in the living room that I now can't use - Harvey makes a beeline straight for it!

What an absolutely fab photo Caroline!! It is just absolutely glorious seeing them all together. It must be an absolute riot in your house!! I'm not sure how you do it - one's enough for me!!!

Hi Fiona - Welcome (again) to the forum! You will find loads of information here about everything you need to ensure that Bonkers leads a happy, healthy life. Feel free to post any questions you feel need answering (no matter how silly you feel they are, because I can assure you I've probably asked them before)! Bonkers will still be very friendly towards anything and anyone - they really aren't too independent at 15 weeks. Get the camera out and post some pictures - I love babies!!!

Hi Oscar - Welcome to our family! African greys are an absolute joy (as I am sure your amazon is) and you are in the right place to find out all about them. You describe that Namibia is short on population - I presume an avian vet isn't readily available either? That would be my worry when acquiring another bird. Nevertheless, I hope there are people from our family who can help you in your quest to find an African Grey - there is plenty of information in abundance and careful planning and reading essential. I look forward to hearing more about you and Merlino (I find myself saying this with an Italian accent!!!) and wish you luck in your efforts!

Hi Fiona - Welcome to our family. You do not say how old Bonkers is? Harvey (my baby) scratches around his food bowl for attention when he is in his cage - perhaps Bonkers has adopted the corner of his cage to use as an attention seeking tool? You are right in not reacting to this situation. Does he have enough to keep him busy in his cage (toys etc) as he might also be bored? Why don't you go into the Welcome Room and introduce yourself - we'd love to know more about you and your family - and perhaps some photos of Bonkers.

That's lovely to hear Sheila. Yesterday I did all my housework and ironing and today I've been Christmas shopping at the Metro Centre (Christmas shopping plus rainy day in the North East of England, not a good combination!!!). The shops weren't busy - just the actual mall areas - people had come out for an indoor walk!! But - what do I care now ~ my Christmas shopping is finished!! Yippppppeeeeee!!!! :woohoo:
