Aw, never mind Bernie - they are plumping up your pillow in the nursing home as we speak
-
Great video - it's the only place Harvey will fly down from - no chance with the stairs! He's never done it ever. He just sits on the top of the banister looking bemused!!
-
How sweet! You're going to have to get that on video - what a cutie
-
What you have described Ryan is Harvey all over!!! To be honest - it nearly always takes two of us to put it on - I find it difficult to tighten the harness whilst he runs up my arms too! Taking it off - exactly the same! I think it's defiance! Unfortunately the baby stage doesn't last too long - and they definitely start to get their own mind and independence! It's too cold, wet, rainy and awful here to even contemplate an outside trip - I'm dreading trying the harness again

Morning Charles ~ it is Sunday after all!! Oh, she was on about that white stuff this morning - she says we seem to have just had a sprinkling compared to the North West, and some big airport was shut over there this morning she said. A collar - pah, are they stupid! Like we are going to wear one of them - anyway, they just get in the way don't they - you're lucky your mum was nice enough to remove it - and that medicine sounds yummy! Glad your wing is getting better. Anyway - you need it to go and batter that Cracker - eating your fruit - pah, I'd have him! Well, I'm off now to see how much palm oil I can throw on the carpet - she's whinging about the stuff that she's put on my food and I'm managing to aim for the middle of her cream carpet - well, stupid idea for flooring with me around methinks

Great topic Janet! We obviously instilled to the kids when Harvey arrived about windows and doors and are lucky that they are at an age where they are responsible for their own actions. We don't use our front door and need to go through two doors from the house to get outside, so always ensure that one or the other is closed at all times. The summer is hard though, watching for open windows etc, but we just make sure we are mindful of Harvey. The flying down thing has been a mystery to me too - and thanks for the explanation Dave. Harvey flies upstairs no bother at all, but has NEVER flown down them! I have to go and retrieve him every time

Well, those of you who have missed him (I have) I have found him! Although he can't find himself! He's lost his login password for the forum! So - he hangs in the internet ether - reading all the threads, unable to join in  (he has re-applied to join, but they might knock him back this time)!!! That's his excuse anyway - I reckon he's got himself banned :pinch: I was thinking about calling him names, and he can't answer. What was his excuse? A SENIOR MOMENT (his words, not mine)!!!!  Counting down until his return.......!

I'm expecting the full routine from YMCA some time soon, but if she can't manage that yet, perhaps Agadoo? I'm not fussy!!!

dw310 wrote: Did you say this was a baby grey PARROT or baby grey ELEPHANT!! Morgan surely can't be eating this much - it would be the reason he doesn't fly much - he wouldn't be able to lift his fat belly from the perch! The veggies are more important that the pellets - as long as Morgan is eating lots of veggies and enjoying them I wouldn't worry. There has been a lot of discussion about pellets lately and what they bring to a grey's diet - after all, they don't have them in the wild. It's good that Morgan is trying lots of different things - that's the first step on the road to food success. Your photos are gorgeous too

If she's been flying too she will be worn out - remember, greys don't fly much in domestication in comparison with the big wide world, and therefore their breathing apparatus isn't nearly as strong as it should be. She's no doubt knackered too. But remember - you may have had her wings clipped - but it won't stop her getting away. Clipped birds can still "fly" when spooked

Fantastic photos Sara! He's a little sweetie - so confident too - Harvey would never lie on his back in a million years! Love the shot where he's in your bag! -

Darn it! I really thought I'd signed into the wrong forum!!!! I can remember when Katie was about 8 or 9 we saw one of these huge house rabbits and she obviously wanted one. I asked her where we would keep it and she said straight out "in the bottom of my wardrobe"!!!! Needless to say, it never joined the family! That is one huge bunny! Would keep a pie crust up fantastically!!! -
What great news Brittany! See - all the cheerleading here really does work!!
-
Don't ever turn your back on your grey when you put the mail on your desk! This is honestly Harvey having ripped open a pack of card things that my car dealer had sent me, trying to entice me with their latest cars! I had honestly left him for about two minutes!!! Needless to say, in his beak was the most expensive of the range - that sadly won't be making it's way to my driveway!!!
-
Fingers crossed!!!!! Keep us posted

Hi Sara (and sweet Charly). Welcome (back) to our family!! Charly sounds like a "right Charlie" - good old UK saying!! There are other members from the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden too - and I'm only a boat trip away in Newcastle, UK! Can't wait to see some pictures of Charly xx -
I laughed at the title of this thread and thought "Ah, some husband appreciating his fabulous wife". Yeah - righto! It's great that Mojo is getting along with your wife - you're doing everything you can to make Mojo a well socialised bird. Thanks for the update
-
Hi James ~ Welcome to our Family. It'll be great to get to know you and your baby! As others have said - we love photos - get that camera snapping
-
Goodness me! I know I've been on a "life modification" for a month - but Jeez, I've let FART slip! The meeting has reconvened!!! I'm just about to enjoy my first glass of vino blanco in time for the live Eastenders (don't worry rest of the world, you'll catch up next year, I'll not spoil it for you)!!!!! Cheers!!!
-
Well, I forgot to update you all! I have now lost 5 pounds! To be honest - I'm not really trying now - just cutting out the rubbish! How's everyone else getting on? I'm happy at a steady one pound per week
-
I'd be cheating and using google!!! I'd love to play - but my knowledge is severely limited! Good god guys - I'd probably lose one about cockatiels - and I had one of those for 17 years!!!
-
Brittany - she is very vocal - I am sure she will make a lot of noise once she is comfortable where she is. Don't worry about her being scared of everything - the top of a tree is her cover, it's her safety. Fingers crossed you find lovely Pepper soon
