Last week I asked for ideas on how to introduce a "big bad" new java tree into Harvey's life and received some great advice - which I planned to follow........until I opened the box and saw how big the flipping thing is!! There would be no room for both in my living room (well, unless I moved a sofa out or the TV)! So, I had to just throw him in at the deep end. These photos were taken 11 minutes after pushing the tree into the living room!! and he obviously didn't move with the flash of the camera and had his head stuck firmly in the bowl!!

I've looked at these lovely photos of Blue again - and just can't believe that he is so advanced in years! He looks like a baby! His feathers are in great nick, his eyes are bright as a button - I doubt anyone would guess his age. He is absolutely gorgeous Sheila - Bernard is so lucky to have shared all of these years with him - and Bernard is so lucky to have someone as competent to look after Blue.

New here - gathering information
JillyBeanz replied to user1002's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Hi Christine and welcome to our family. Well done for researching whether a grey is the correct pet for you ~ there is tons of information housed in millions of threads for you to trawl through to help you see whether a grey is for you and your family. Anything you can't find or wish to ask - ask away!!! <br><br>Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2010/02/15 13:25 -
I have one of those greys that I allow on my shoulder, but don't think for one minute that my earlobe or eyelid would be out of danger for one minute! I believe that you really have to know your grey's body language before you allow them to be on your shoulder and, touch wood, up until now my judgements have been correct. I wouldn't allow him on either of the children's shoulders though (they are 16 and 18, so not little) and my husband is very wary when he is on his. Anyway - it's the only time I get any peace - him sitting up there and me scratching his head!!

Spock looks just like a spring chicken. You would never guess he was poorly! It's like a posh spa day - we have cucumber on the eyes - spock bathes in lettuce leaves! Great video x

Sheila, I don't know who looks prouder - Bernard or Blue. What a lovely photo - this is a one to cherish forever

Oh, and PS to Argyle - you're a bloke - I'm not bothered what colour you are - it's nice for you to join the gang

Oooh! Another lady! I'm going to like it round here! I've just been on my playstand and snapped every rope toy that hangs from it - well, I really want to bite her - but I take my aggression out elsewhere!!! She was moaning before that I never sleep during the day, that she has to run round after me and I'm never happy in one place for long. I have the attention span of a bouncy ball she said. Hey, I'm only 14 months old - what do they expect - FOOLS!
-
They're great - there's nothing wrong with them at all! You'd pay a fortune at the pet shop for them!!

Hi Beau, Bella, Chocko and Bellino. You must be more patient than my parronts - they've only got me - they couldn't cope with another and are trying their best not to murder me today. Well, she was ironing and I was sitting on the top of my cage (or so she thought) when in fact, I'd come in here and hacked a nice big chunk out of the lovely leather computer chair that they've only had three months (they had to replace the last one because I chewed that too). She's not too bothered - she says "he's a parrot, he chews", but he's a bit more annoyed and told her to keep me out of there! She had nothing to do with it - I sneaked in. So, if she can't keep her eye on me 24/7 - what chance would she have with others! Right - gotta go - she's coming!!!!

Robin - these photos will prove to anyone thinking that they'd like to rescue a rather unconventional looking baby that with love and patience they can return to their former splendor. He looks absolutely fabulous (and so does Dixie!!). Thanks for the latest shots - he's fab:)

What great photos Jay - they are clearly enjoying them

I love the photos you have of Blue Sheila - hurry up and get them posted.

Happy Hatchday Keeko ~ a suitable day for a sweetheart - make sure you have them attend to your every need (as if they don't already)! Have a great day!!!

I think it's a fab idea Debbie - and I've just handed the "mic" over to Harvey. Sunday 14 February 2010 ~ God, they are so lazy - they didn't get up until 09.30am - I'd been awake since 7am - but chose not to wake them, but gave that Jill an evil eye when she eventually decided to uncover me. Breakfast - she's just fed me that muck again that she calls "scrambled egg". I only eat it because there's that lovely palm oil mixed in - otherwise she wouldn't stand a chance. I was sitting whilst she was on this forum thing - I had my toy telephone to play with, but the one with British Telecom wrote on it is far more appealing - and it annoys the hell out of her when she is trying to type. I've thrown both the toy phone and the human phone off the desk at least 20 times now and I can tell she is getting sick of it - but I'm not going to stop. Oh, I couldn't be bothered to fly all the way back to my stand and the desk looked a nice dumping ground, so I did just that - she's not happy either - kept saying I was naughty - well, what's the saying "water off a parrot's back" - yip, that's me. I'll be back later - there's plenty more I have to say about the morons I live with, but since I've just tried to pull the "enter" key off the keyboard I'm being removed from the study! Laters!!!!!

Ha Ha! Excellent Julie. Poor, poor Steve - well, at least he knows his place!! Karma to you ~ I've been giggling since I read this!!

This is a picture of an Amazon in the Pantanal Rainforest in Brazil. Strange angle for a feed.....!

To me nursery is just "nursery" - not grey nursery. All babies thoroughly welcomed - so I too may be wrong! I'm loving your pictures of Pakshi's precious cargo - so keep them coming
-
I love this video - and like Dan I've viewed it a zillion times - it's such a sight to watch - it's just such a shame that the areas that they live aren't exactly "holiday proof" in order that we can go see it for ourselves.

Yip! Cannibalism is rife in the grey world!!! Ecko's just telling us that he's got one up on the chicken species! Great picture Caitlin - Ecko's definitely not letting go
-
I was going to try it after following advice from Jill (Greywings) and have bought some sprouting stuff - I must give it a go now!!!
-
Ha Ha! I wonder if they come in any other colour!!!!
-
Oooh! I can't tell them apart - I'm useless!!! They are all gorgeous!! (I'll just be Switzerland here I think!!!!)

They are gorgeous!!! I bet they were a right handful!!

And pictures to prove that with determination and love they can have that forever home ~ and you are all right - unfortunately this is the way of the world.
