  1. What a great-looking toy! I may have to get one of those. Great to see Emma back to her old self
  2. Thank you for this very useful link
  3. On the photograph it looks like normal dander, if it is actual marks on the feathers then I don't pretent to know the reason and I expect someone more knowledgeable to come along later today with some good advice so stay tuned
  4. Loki for me Like the sound of it and it's easy to say.
  5. Lyn that was a brilliant video, it sure looks lovely there and a great time had by all. Alfie is a well-adjusted grey - nothing seems to phase him. Bravo Alfie! You know I wouldn't think parrots would be acceptable in a hotel, least of all in the dining area, that is nice to know should I venture your way into Scotland.
  6. Aww lucky, lucky you to get yourself a TAG. The things you discribe seem perfectly normal to me and typical of a grey - except for the dislike of green, I've not heard that one before lol. If it were me I'd be inclined to keep the old cage until he is settled in his new surroundings and only then introduce the new cage, adding it to the room (as with the new toys) so he can comes to accept it "as part of the furniture" and that it's not some massive bird of prey that is going to swallow him Then after several weeks (possibly months, you will feel when the time is right) get rid of the old cage and begin using the new one. A similar colour sounds a good idea, I'd go for bigger but not too much bigger. What is his name? Can't wait to hear of his homecoming and his progress from then onwards. Photos would be much appreciated. ;-)
  7. Unfortunately I don't own a TAG but Beau is a very small CAG weighing in at approx 415-420 so not much bigget than a TAG.
  8. LOL yes it's Pearl, the unusually coloured one. I saw a picture of Snowball with her chicks on another thread I think
  9. Sorry, it is Pearl I was refering to - your beautiful and unusual tiel.
  10. OMG you have a large flock. Romeo in particular is gorgeous, such unusual colouring!
  11. Thanks for the updates Steve, I love the pictures, particularly the second one. Your Issac is very young for his 1st word, he is doing just great! You are gonna see lots of changes in him over the weeks and months to come, it's all a learning curve for us lol
  12. Congratulations to both Janet's grandson and Cheyenness's tiel and the gorgeous chicks, mum is a lovely-looking tiel so I guess the chicks will grow up to be lovely too. Like Judy nothing exciting has happened to me or my family this week, we have just come through a pretty stressful time what with one thing and another so I'm pretty happy just that things are beginning to settle down for us. Hoping for an England win tonight in the world cup and for Andy Murray to do well at wimbledon in the next fortnight beginning Monday. No footy for Jordan as it's end of season and anyway he has a foot injury
  13. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to interact with both birds and it makes no difference who brings the new bird into the home.
  14. There should be no problem intoroducing a new bird, even a diferent bird into your household but sharing a cage is a definate nono. In your house which your grey was the first to reside in, you should always feed and interact with your grey first before feeding the conure as he sees himself as the boss and flock leader. His cage is HIS territory and he will defend it by fighting the conure off, possibly killing it in the process. When allowing the two out of their cages together they will need to be supervised at all times. I don't allow my two out together, they do get on but only if they keep their distance from one another when out of their cages. Some do co-exist when out of their cages but I would never recomend cage sharing.
  15. Oh dear, you may find it ends up in your freezer with the Elk & Deer. Tiel pie anyone? ;-)
  16. Judy and Janet, the two (lovable) nutters "har har har"
  17. Any news on the tiel Jude? Have you though about the possibility of his owner never being found? The poor thing is gonna need a name
  18. Hee hee, you know you're a bird owner when you talk of your baby's first words and someone says "I didn't know you had another child"
  19. Aww how sweet! Yoshi looks like she's been caught in a rain storm LOL - a drowned rat! Lovely pictures. Beau doesn't seem to get that wet either
  20. Peanut??? What's that all about Lyn? LOL Give you grey a peanut but don't give to your mutt it might stick in the gut! Well what do you expect with "peanut!" LOL New word: Rise
  21. I'm with you on the hand-held vac!! You know you're a bird owner when you find downy feathers in the stragest of places...hmm how did that get there???
  22. Please keep us informed on your sweet grey's progress and what the vet says. We all care very much about each other's birds on here.
