I did not mean anything mean about cockatoo's. I have had them and even although i too believe there beauty and personalities are amazing it is just not a good fit for me. I absolutely love macaws and greys and amazons. They are very beautiful birds

I thought the aloe needed to be mixed with part water also? If not i will have to try this. I have heard that if you mist them daily there are some people that have had great success with plucking by just spraying them daily. Whether they like it or not. I am just always concerned that i become the hated one if i do this daily though

I knew a lady here in Houston that one and they are absolutely beautiful but i am not much of a cockatoo fan to begin with. I would rather want a Hyacinth that would be my dream bird, lol

I would not let them have foam i just dont feel like its safe especially if they should swallow some. i lost my little red flank lorikeet last year due to something similar to this. I had no idea he was eating the stuff i thought it was on the bottom of the cage.

Wayne sorry no i just went with it. Decide how far from the floor you want to be. Thats what i did. Then i started putting it together. Pvc crosses and and pvc is all you need and then end caps so they dont pick off the vet wrap and i like to hang the toys from it. I used nuts to hold the fasteners for the hanging toys. By putting the nut end inside the end cap big beak cannot destroy or take it off, lol. Make your perches the lenght that works best for your bird. I put it together watch the bird play and make adjustments as i go along. Sorry i no this is not good but hey this is how i do it. My husband is a engineer and it drives him nuts. Because he wants to lay it out on paper first. I feel you wont know how it works unless you watch the bird climb around etc ect. I did use the 2in pvc. First started with 1inch but it was too flimsy., Would work for the greys and amazons but not for a macaw. Hope this helps somewhat if not just get back with me,

I hope you picked up the umbrella stand you no you need to make this!

You are welcome, and just like Dave said i should have added also, if you never had birds before it would be wise to see how its done first and they can show you how to do it.

I have been doing all 400 of my birds myself. When you trim nails you can take care of the beak filing at the same time.

thank you so much

thank you so much i am pretty happy with it. Now i can have all the eating in one spot when they are out of the cages.
-
I finally got it finished and i love how it turned out. Birds could not wait to get onto it. Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe move the stand to another area maybe something is making him upset. Sometimes it could be something as easy as just moving the stand or perch. Too hot too cold too loud on the tv etc etc. I hope this helps until someone can maybe come up with something better. The perch is sturdy right?

I wanted to make something where i could put all the foraging things in what area for my birds. It is not complete since i made one yesterday out of 1 inch pvc but it was too flimsy. So today i remade it with the big pvc. Still need to add the end caps and then all the foraging stuff. Will show when completed but here is what i have so far. Enjoy! The bottom picture is the one i made before but was not sturdy enough

Start with a picture frame the size you want the door to be and then just build around it that is what i did there was no plan just came along as i made it. When closed it is a nice display of my babies pictures.
