Mine would only eat 3 or four pieces of the Harisons pellets in the morning when he is so hungry and i offer him nothing else. Im not sure how much he eats out of it because he breaks it into pieces more thatn he really eats... but he likes his veggis and we just tried oat meal, he just took a bit and didnt care for it. He is mainly interested in seeds but I just give him few after leaving him with veggies all day... I dont want him to starve... {Nature-00020095}

Well Ive had birds since I was a kid...canaries... they used to lay egges and i used to hand feed them and play with them...then when my brother got a grey I started reading about them to give him some helpful information then I fell in love with greys and decided to get mine... but all the reading didnt prepare me to the wonderful experience Im having with my Grey... I wouldnt change this for anything... {Nature-00020095}

As I gave Kookie today a toy that I made for him I watched him shredd it till the last peice as if he was on a distruction mission and wouldnt stop until he tore down the last part...I was thinking I shouldve called him shredder...LOL I agree with you Dave, even the simplest things can be good toys for them and its actually fun doing things for him to watch him destroy them... we can do the same T shape with PVC pipe and Vet Wrap...also cheap and easy... {Nature-00020095}

what about fuit flavored yogurt, the one without sugar? Or how about adding some vanilla powder to yogurt, the one that looks like small sugar cristals? Or perhaps you can warm up the yogurt for him,maybe adding some oats and his favorite fruit? I noticed my bird does not like cold food and he tends to eat more when its warm...I really hope it works out and he gets well soon

Ive had the first experience of scratching Kookie's head today... {Nature-00020095} Since Ive had him, he wouldnt allow me get anywhere near his head...but suddenly today and as usual I tell him "scratch"and I try to reach for his head..he bent his head down and allowed me to scratch him...honestly I was scared he would bite me but I took the risk..just like he did and I scratched his head, ears, area around his eyes and beak...he seemed relaxed and happy, closed his eyes and let me scratch him...while he did a hissing sound A while later and as I passed by his perch, he hissed again and lowered his head, I guess calling me to scratch him again...I did without being afraid and I know that the trust is building..I love him even more for this...and I just felt like sharing the news...

I have found those 2, one is from clorox and its safe around pets and babies, but I always rinse well after it The second is bird safe, sepcial to disinfect aviaries, drinkers, cages...I also rinse well after that... And when I clean food plates and drinker on daily basis, I use antibacterial dishwashing liquid in very small ammpounts diluted with water and I make sure to rinse well afterwards {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}

now I just coverone side with theblanket, 2 sides are on a corner which leaves one side for Kookie to peek out and look around...its getting better and he seems to be sleeping fine now, except that he tries o stay up on his play stand as late as he could...asking for scratch and trying to sing...anything so that he wouldnt go to bed... I am posting this on behalf of my friend, Amy whose beloved grey Sylvia passed last week due to the visious PBFD.... Amy rescued Sylvia and gave her lots of love and Im sure she will always remember the wonderful times they had together...
