  8. Thanks Tycos Mom, well anyay Kookie doesnt fly around the house unless hes scared of something, so I guess it wont really affect him especially that I make sure nothing scares him off, so he plays and whistles happily on his play stand. {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}

  11. yeah thanks I will go easy, but I got the low fat one, and I will only use a little so that it wil give a lavor to the pellets. I hope it works on the long run and he wouldnt discover my trick... {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  12. Love the new name.... {Nature-00020095}
  13. I have always found it difficult to convince Kookie to eat his pellets (Harisons is the only one available here), and no matter how hungry he is he will shred the pellets into pieces and barely eat from them...that was all until we tried peanut butter (lowfat with peanut pcs inside) and Kookie went so nuts about it that he licked the spoon clean...so it occured to me to add little of this peanut butter to the broken pellet pieces and guess what...Kookie thought it was talon lickin good...LOL Im glad to have finally found a way to make him eat pellets... {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}

  15. I loved the red factor too, very cute. Give her some time to get used to the new place and feel at home...Im sure you will be tierd of her talking afterwards. My Kookie would make baby sounds and the Oooooooooh and Waaaaaaw and all those if he has no one to talk to....its very cute {Nature-00020095}
  16. and with few changes it can look like this:
  17. Hi NuNu and welcome in our grey family. In addition to the wooden toys that everybody suggested, I recomend a wooden playstand for your grey, preferably one made out of tree branches, which would provide your grey all the wood they need to chew pon and still you can hang things on it and it will be similar to the trees they stand upon in their natural environment. Off course these tree branches can be replaced when they are totally chewed. You can make one yourself and its really not very difficult and you can change the way it looks by changing the toys. Im attachng a picture of the tree I have for Kookie which he loves so much. Hope it will give you some ideas and also you can find many pictures posted by other members. {Nature-00020095}
  18. I totally agree with Tycos Mom & JungleDreamz that a sudden change in surroundings might evoke such unpleasant behaviour, but i would also say that greys in general are talkative and expressive and it doesnt have to be only morning and eveneing. Mine is talkative and he might scream and whistle and talk for hours non stop and that is his nature and hes happy and this is the way they communicate with us and express themselves. I would ask how long have you had him? Is this behaviour new or has he been like this? Do you spend enough time with him? Knowing this might help understanding his behaviour in an attempt to change it Good Luck {Nature-00020095}
  19. Thanks Dave...Ill leave them alone but he looks funny with long flight feathes only on one side.. {Nature-00020095}
  20. Thanks Raposa,its actually funny because Kookie likes to jump to my laptop and lick the screen every time he sees his own pictures or his videos on it... funny..LOL {Nature-00020095}
  21. HI To answer doubletefarm's question: I used a large size cutter and a torch lighter. I heated the cutter blade with the torch lighter and it cut through the PVC like knife in butter.... but there is a slight burning smell as a result... {Nature-00020095}
  22. Hi everyone, Kookie has broken a couple of flight feathers while he was playing. He chewed them off and they fell but I noticed that now he has more feathers on one side. Now he is not a regular flyer, only when something freightens him. Do I need op be concerned about this, do I need to clip off the side with feathers to give him balance, or should I leave it like this until new ones grow? How long does it take for flight feathers to grow? Also how to differentiate between molting and plucking? What is the normal number of feathers falling? When do we have to be concerned? Sorry for asking too many questions but I wanted to put it all in one thread and thank you in advance for your replies and help {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020095}
  23. Kookie doesnt like to poop in his cage, sometimes I wait for him in the morning o poop beforeI take him out, but he waits and waits and he does it the minute i take him out to his playtree. I tried toilet, I mean holing him over toilet to do it but he doesnt feel comfortable enough I guess... Anyone successful with potty training? PLease share the experience... {Nature-00020095}
