2. My Kookie is just like a little kid, he refuses to go to his cage to sleep. I know he needs his sleep time, but every evening, when I wanna take him from his playstand to his cage, he starts to run a way and avoids me and even tries to bite me (soft bite) just to avoid going to sleep. When I succeed to take him to his cage, and although he is really sleepy (I know bcs he grinds his beek) he starts to circulate all around the cage. I tried to put off the light but that scared him and he clings to the side of the cage and seems scared, so now I keep some light in the room next to him so he wouldnt be scared, I calm him down and sometimes take him out and pet his back. He seems fine but as soon as I put him back in the cage, he sems restless and just wanna get out. I partially cover his cage by a white blanky, but with or without the blanket it is the same. I think he likes to sleep on his perch in the TV room but I know he wont sleep well with the TV noises. Sometimes I can hear him moving around in his cage for about 15 to 20 minutes before he sleeps, sometimes he makes noises like hes calling me, so I jump out of bed and go to his side but all he wants is to get out of the cage and sleep out, on my hand or on the perch on top of his cage What do u suggest? I never faced this with my previous grey but that was a baby.

    Thanks for the explanation Dave, you always have the right answers. One more question: How often should I mist the bird? I give him a shower once a week, and sometimes he wahes himself (water dish), weather here is somehow humid, we are not using Air conditioner yet, temperatute is a nice 24 degrees C. I am not sure if I should mist him, because he doesnt really like it.... {Nature-00020095}{Nature-00020097}

  20. What is the volume of food and adult grey should eat? Im trying the Harisons pellets as soon as he wakes up when he is really hungly. Kookie would take 3 or 4 pcs, grind them into powder and Im not sur how much he is eating out of them. ive tried few versions of the powder pellet, with juice or with veggies, but thats not interesting to him. he eats veggies, shreds them into small pieces and throws them down. Im concerned abou the quantity he eats, and Im not sure hes getting enough. He wont come near the scale so I can weigh him. Its too scary and I dont wanna make him so uncomfortable cos he is starting to bite me when he is so nervous (he didnt bite before). he likes popcorn (no oil or salt)and will eat a lot of it. He likes grapes, aples, capsicum, banana, peanuts, walnuts, chestnuts... but how can I be sure he eats enough?
  21. By the way, if you wanna know if its a scam or not, ask for his detailed address, and suggest that you have a friend in the same area who is willing to pick up the bird and fly it with him to you and that you are not interested in shipping. You will see the guy will stop contacting you. Also there is a quarantine regulations when you fly birds from contry to another. Its a minimum of one month and can increase to 4 months in case the bird is comming from some African countries. Just be careful with those scammers. Also you can try to search in your area for someone trying to re-home their bird...I have found mine that way, so at least you can see the bird first or take him for a vet check. Good Luck {Nature-00020095}

Post edited by: ranaz, at: 2009/03/20 09:14
  22. By the way there are a lot of scamers, from Congo or south africa or they will give you an adress in london. They will ask for money to ship the pet for you and then they wil ask for more money and suddenly after they get what they can get they disappear. They might even call yo on your mobile, most probably from a number in Africa, starting with 002 or +2. So Take Care and dont let any of those play his scams on you Rana {Nature-00020095}

Post edited by: ranaz, at: 2009/03/14 14:27
