5. Happy Halloween!!! Thanks for sharing Gryphon's halloween with us Stephanie. Really love that net.
6. Great thoughts to ponder Casper and another great post that should be published for all potential grey owners to see. Damn, we have a lot of insightful members in this great Grey Forum. Hooray for us!!! Thank you Caroline.
7. Hey Brittney, I understand you are getting your baby in January. Are you going to have DNA testing done? I believe a name should embody the characteristics and personality of the namee, but if I had to choose right this minute I like Merlin and Belle. I get my TAG in late November and have been buying everything; it's so exciting to get everything ready. To bring my FID home I purchased a collapsible wire carrier like one JudyGram posted information about. I think it's great for long trips and for use if for any reason my grey has to spend a weekend over at my children's home or any place else. There's great information here to help with just about everything so have fun reading all the different threads on just about everything.
8. Sounds like you have everything well in hand. I understand if you clip your FIDs wings they should still be able to glide. Is that what your Mingus is doing? I believe the babblings are Mingus' attempts to form words, so whatever you are doing sounds just fine. I believe the name you choose for your grey should embody his character, actions or his personality, where did the name Mingus come from; does it have a meaning? If you have specific questions ask away, some of our experienced family will come to the rescue. Any pictures you wish to share will be greatly appreciated. But most important enjoy your new friend, to me he sounds very happy.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/11/01 03:41

16. Hi Marla, sounds like George and you are getting to know and understand each other better. I look forward to hearing about your new FID and hope to see some pictures if you have any you would like to share.
17. Wow Pat, I can really see the difference between now and then. Gizmo's body language is now relaxed his eyes not frightened. He is looking so much healthier. You have done a magnificent thing with and for him. I salute you!!! Please keep the great pictures coming. Karma to you.
18. I have purchased a EzCare playtop 32"x23"x37" inside dimensions. This is my pick because it has a full front door for easy cleaning access, plus a regular door for every day. There are two debris trays which have screening/bars over them so birds can't escape when the trays are removed. The access doors are sliding bolt locks which I also like in case my friend is a smart escape artist. My cage was $279 on sale. Shera36 of the two cages, your friend's sounds like a great buy. Does it also have a playtop?
19. Hi Marla, I'm so glad you could join us. There is alot of valuable information here and numerous knowledgeable people who have re-homed older birds. Ask your questions and someone will come along to help you out. Hope to see some pictures soon if you would like to share some. Welcome aboard.
20. Brittany what great pictures. Looks like you and Pepper are bonding nicely. She looks so cute, thanks for sharing these great shots.
21. I love the idea of taking your grey to places for people to see and learn about them. This is a very interesting thread and I have enjoyed it tremendously, thanks to everyone for sharing.:silly: Rosenzahra--I grew up in Fresno, California many years ago, moved to Washington State when I was eighteen, sure miss the free fruit and vegetables that were in abundance there.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/31 03:24
22. Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother. The first son said, "I built a big house for our mother." The second son said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third son said, "You know how much our mother enjoys reading the Bible but now can't see very well, so I sent her a remarkable grey parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took elders in the church 12 years to teach him. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot recites its." Soon thereafter, their mother sent out her letters of thanks. "Dave," she said, "the house you built is so hugh I live only in one room, but I have to clean the whole house." "Dan," she said, "I am too old to travel very often. I stay most of the time at home so I rarely use the Mercedes and that driver is so rude, he is a pain!" "But Frank," she said, "the little chicken you sent was delicious!"
23. Well Hi there. So glad you have joined us. Sounds like you have quite a bit of experience as a grey owner and probably have an abundance of knowledge to share with us. What is your grey's name? If you have any pictures to share, we would like to see them. And for sure, welcome aboard.

25. Oh look at those little babies. How exciting to see them. Are they going to get to stay with the parents. I know nothing about the procedure. What happens now?
