Adaya is such a lovely Timneh. And it's great that you have decided to let her be fully flighted. I like the background of the picture it looks so natural. Thanks for sharing.

My, my Roger I am throughly impressed. That looks good enough for my dinner. Thank you for your recipe. If Congo won't eat the bean pods, have you tried cutting them up in 1/2" pieces to see if he will then eat them? Chef Roger, what else you got!!!

Sheer eloquence!!! What exactly did you do in your other life Dr. Flock??? Bravo, Bravo!!!

How about hanging his vegetables in his cage, make him work for some of his food. Treats in wads of paper, or paper rolls that he has to work to get at. Nothing dramatic just a treasure hunt for his treats or some hand foods, carrots, green beans, the like. If he has a reward at the end, it might be more stimulating for him. Good luck!!!

I remember posting about Nismo and your barber shop. I'm really glad that it has turned out great for both of you. How is he interacting with your customers; do they love trying to get him to talk? I think if Nismo didn't like the petting he would have let you know by now, so I think its a good thing if he hasn't reacted by biting or moving away. He probably lowers his head to get a really good petting. Please keep us posted on you, Nismo and your barbershop. If you have any pictures of Nismo that you would like to share we would really appreciate it.

Of the two, I'm for Cooper.

Hopefully Koko is just like you or me, when we have an accident or fall it rattles our nerves so we are quiet and contemplative. Just be observant and loving until she comes around.

You just wait Marla, George will come around, I think you were probably more anxious than your husband and George could sense that. So relax and I know you and George will be the best of friends. I'm so happy about the progress George is making!! It was a grand thing you did bringing him home and you will be rewarded by him you just wait.

Have you placed an old towel with paper over it at the bottom of her cage to cushion any falls? Because of course she wants to be up higher, that's where you are. The goal is to get her more steady on her feet so you want her exploring up higher. And I believe you are a great father or you wouldn't care.

Pat, Gizmo is such a smart and comical guy!!! I think you two were made for each other. What a wonderful new beginning for him. What a card he is.

How can i improve my parrots life?sorry long!
Luvparrots replied to dizzybird's topic in Welcome & Introduction Room
Isobel, first I want to commend you on giving an older grey a new forever home. What is his name? Secondly, greys can eat a lot of what you eat. Vegetables and fruit are great. Oatmeal and cherios. If you look in the food room there is a list of foods they can eat and some that are toxic. Also, be careful of what wood you choose because some are toxic. There is also a list of non-toxic woods. You should look at all the information threads posted here. There is alot of information for you. Just type in the "search forum" boxes with a topic, i.e.,"good vegetables", "fruits", "foraging", or similar words and a whole string of posts will come up. Just look around. We have some great experts here. Dave007 is our health room moderator. PM him and ask him for some information, he will help you, or DanMcq is also a great guy who can answer your questions. There are many knowledgeable grey owners here just ask and they will be happy to help. If you have any pictures we would love to see them. Marie I am so happy for you. What is George saying? I just know you and George are going to be the very best of friends. Patience and love works every time.

My breeder Millie has the perch down low for her babies and moves it up as they get more steady with their perching. She also puts toweling in to cushion the fall. So David, you are doing the right thing for your Annie. Sounds like you have been doing your homework and have been reading alot of the many threads in this great forum. Annie is a lucky Fid to have you.:silly:

Marie, you are trying too hard. Why should he come out if you keeping giving him treats and things inside his cage. Have you tried eating something he might like in front of his cage, a piece of fruit or a nut he likes, play with a toy he might like, ring a bell outside of his cage, make he want to come to you not the other way around. Relax, it will all come. Read some of these posts to him, just have more fun then he is, he will come to you, be patient.

Have you contacted the Animal Humane Society or local Bird Rescue. You could always run an ad in the lost and found section of the local paper for pets/birds in that area. Good luck in your quest.
-
How about Barnum or Bailey (Barnum & Bailey Circus) since he is such a clown.

What a sweetheart your baby Chihuahua is. You have quite a number of different friends in your family, how exciting. I wonder what Roscoe will think of your new family member. Can't wait to hear the name you choose.
-
Hi Michel, it seems like you and your wife are very responsible people, who don't make irresponsible decisions. For that I commend you both and because of your caring about making the right decision I believe you both will be great grey owners. As others have said, read through the many threads about greys in this forum and then see what you think. Good luck on your decision.

Hi Free, congratulations on your baby Tag. How long has she been a part of your family and what have you named her? We love hearing tales about our greys and if you have any pictures you would like to share, we are a ready audience. Welcome to the family.
-
Lynne I hope Piff finds his way home. Have you been walking through your neighborhood in the evening and calling to him. Sometimes when its quiet they are less fearful and can hear you better. Good luck on Piff's return, I will pray for him.
-
I'm so sorry Val. I hope things turn around for your little grey. Prays to her and good wishes to you.

Bravo!!! What a great thing you and your husband have done Erika. Sounds like he is a fantastic guy and in no time he will be a big part of your flock. Have you come up with a new name yet? You know how we love to help choose a name:silly: !!!
