Michele, I am so sorry that Congo is missing. Have you asked your neighbors personally if they have seen Congo, advertised in the newspaper, checked the Humane Society, local bird society and pet stores? Or sat outside making familiar call sounds? Don't give up hope. I pray Congo will come home.

I have always loved birds. Had parakeets as a child and a few as I grew up. They were all I could afford what with raising three kids alone. Now that I am single and secure I get afford to have a parrot which I have always wanted. So now I have pug to cuddle and an African Grey to talk to. I chose a grey because they are small and great talkers, when they do talk. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Madness, everyone is just trying to give you all the pros and cons. If you can re-home a grey; this is a marvelous thing to do; to give a grey a much needed forever home. In the end, you must do what is in your heart. I would go see Chongo, perhaps this is the bird for you. Only you will know. Every bird is different as every person is. Do what is in your heart, check out Chongo and see what it feels like to you and him to be together. Hi Lyn sorry about your Dad. But on a high note, it is wonderful that Alfie and David got along in your absence. It gave them a chance to also bond. Sounds like you have a very happy household and I wish you a very happy holiday. Thanks for this great update.

First of all I paid bills, went grocery shopping for my new grey and then baked birdie corn muffins, and am soaking beans for making more food for my baby. The first muffin tasted good to me and my grey shred hers to pieces and nibbled a little, a very little. Hopefully she will appreciate my efforts later. She has been misted, cuddled and been roaming the top of her cage for the last 2 hours. As for the weather the outside temperature is 64 and the sun is shining and the skies are blue. Such a lovely day.

Well its the third day and my new baby is already stepping up--most of the time. She has tried out her swing today and seems to like it. Last night she slept in her sleep tent and took a nap there today and is now comfortably sleeping there now. She luvs to be close and out of her cage. If I leave the room she is always on the floor so I now always put her in her cage before I leave a room. Can't trust my little Lily not to try a birdy meal yet. I posted some pictures, or I guess I should say my grandson posted them for me. I hope you all like them. Okay update on my new baby. I will call my grey she (DNA pending) and no there is no name, yet. She luvs to be out of her cage and to be hand fed. She will eat anything I give her and she luvs to be touched. She is mouthy but we are working on that. She understands no and if I say it before the crush she stops--most of the time! I wish Millie hadn't short-clipped her wings but that was her choice. She wants her babies safe I guess. I couldn't be more delighted. I am digital camera illiterate so even though I have taken pictures I will need to wait for some help from my kids to post, sorry! I want to thank this wonderful forum with all of its great information and fantastic members. You have provided me with the confidence I need to know how to do the right things for my new grey.
