  1. I believe that when you're hungry you eat what is presented to you. If you want your grey to eat healthy that is what you should give him. Like you, they will not starve if they have food before them. In the middle of the night if you are hungry don't you eat what you find as leftovers in the fridge. Remove food at night, they aren't going to starve from 10 pm to 8 am, and serve fruits and vegetables in the morning if that is what you think is healthy then present the pellets. Dinner of pasta and vegetables then pellets for example. Save the nuts and treats for rewards. This is what I intend to do with my grey.
  2. You need to tell us more about your grey. What characteristics or things does he do? Frankly, I like Sterling, for sterling silver. Good luck on your quest.
  3. Tiffani, have they knocked on all the neighborhood doors to see if they have seen the grey. Have they gone out in the evening or night and called out the name or a call the grey might know. I will keep this darling in my thoughts until you say they have found Ajax.
  4. Hi Heather, I get my TAG in mid-November and have been putting my 2 cents worth in here for awhile. I have learned alot and can hardly wait to get my grey. I wish you all the luck in deciding when and if you add a grey to your family. I can tell you this is the right place to come for the answers. Good luck on your search.
  5. Glad to hear things went well at the Vet. Gryphon seems to love the great toys. Thanks for sharing.:cheer:
  6. Well, hi there Cathie, welcome to the Grey Forum. As you already know there are alot of informed people here. Glad the Spaghetti problem was resolved. I can't wait to hear more about you and Nyah and can't wait to see some pictures, if you have any you want to share.
  7. This is a big decision Tatdmommy so you should be really committed. There are lots of posts here in the forum about all kinds of joyous things that happen with greys, BUT there are also lots of things that take time, patience and an even disposition. Please read through the posts here and get an idea of all the things that encompass being a good grey owner. If in your heart you are unsure then wait. This should be a lifetime commitment as if you were becoming a human parent. Remember they have the mind of a 5 year old and the attitude of a 2 year old. With all the joy and heartache of a child. Good Luck!
  8. For a superstitious person, and that would be me, it is very spooky. Happy Halloween Baxter:evil:
  9. So happy that Cricket is fine and I bet you are so relieved to know what really caused your fire and that the fix is an easy and inexpensive one. Thanks for sharing this news with us. It is a reminder of how curious and sneaky our feathered friends can be.<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/24 19:31
  10. I don't know the answer to your question about the saliva, but I wanted to let you know how much I liked your pictures. Thanks for sharing them.
  11. Zazu is a clever little monkey. I luv these pictures, she must trust you with her whole heart. Thanks for sharing this with us; can't wait to see the next act.:silly:
  12. This is a good question. Does it matter how old a baby grey is before its first bath? Should it all just start with misting first to get them use to the "bath" idea. I know some of our well-seasoned grey owners have some answers on this. I would guess to start misting first to get things going.
  13. Great baby picture of your grey. Does it have a name yet? If I remember correctly, isn't your grey about 24 weeks old now? Anyway, thanks for sharing this cute pic.
  14. I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. Here I sit wishing I had my grey now and I wish I could help you. If I were you, I would put on some music or the TV so Shadow has something to react to if you cannot play with him. Please don't ignore him he only needs some attention. Maybe some foraging toys where he has to find his treats. If you really are at the end of your rope then find him a new home where he can find the love and attention he needs. Take a long and deep breathe and do the right thing for both you and Shadow. I find long walks are good for clearing my head. Give it a try and good luck.<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/24 00:53

    It's A Girl!

WEll welcome Gracie. Unfortunately I do remember the orginal show of Burns and Allen. Congratulations on your little girl. So where is her George??:silly:
  18. Pepper looks great. So much bigger now. He is truly worth the wait. Your post sounds happy and excited. I'm very happy for you. Please keep those pictures coming.
  19. Very nice pictures of your pretty greys. Love that red tail.
  20. These are all great ideas. I would only add to make sure trusted neighbors have a key to your home and know where your birds are in case you are not at home. At least neighbors, if it is safe to do so, can open cages and break windows to set your birds free if there is no time to transport them. I watched my father do this over 50 years ago so his beloved birds would be free and alive. That still makes me cry with both heartbreak and joy because they had a chance. Thanks for sharing all these great plans and ideas.
  21. Great picture Marion. Never seem a whole coconut toy, where did you get it? Thanks for sharing this cute photo.
  22. Why did the parrot wear a raincoat? Because he wanted to be polyunsaturated.
  23. Brenda, how wonderful that you got your old friend back. Sounds like you know what needs to be done and are doing a great job on your grey's adjustment. What is your old friend's name? And do you have any pictures you can share with us??
  24. Pionexx, the first thing you need to do is read everything you can about this illness and then decide what it is you want to do. Do you want to keep your grey and see it through this ordeal, can you afford to do this, or do you want a different grey. Then talk to the seller and see what he says. Get all your information together. Good luck this is a tough decision but one that needs to be made for the good of your human family and grey friend. Maybe the seller will refund all your money and give you the grey so he won't have to deal with it. I wish only the best for you and yours.<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/22 23:15
