Hi Sophie's mom, so glad you could join us. I am so jealous that you have a new baby grey. I won't be getting mine until late November. There is a lot of great information here to help you with your new grey, please take advantage of it, everyone is really supportive here. Pictures please if you have any you want to share, we love pictures.
Great advice from all these lovely ladies. I was wondering what the best things to do would be when I finally get my new baby. I am assuming the same tactics work with a new grey as well. Thanks for these great posts.
Erika, you really love and care for your FIDs so if you feel in your heart this is something you should do and your family support you, why not it's the right thing to do. Good luck on your decision.
Well hi Wingnut, glad you could join us. How did you come by your grey? It's always nice to hear how everyone came to add a grey into their family. We would love to see some pictures if you have any you would like to share. And by the way, what is your feathered friend's name?
Hi Trever, sounds like you are doing just fine by Sassy. I think the concern about you having Sassy so long is the fact that she will get attached to you. Grey's sometimes have preferences to who they like best. Someone with more experience with greys can tell you more about that. I saw Sassy's pictures, she looks beautiful. You are doing a great job of caring for her.:cheer:
Thanks for all this great cleaning information!!! Carolyn can you come on over and give me a demonstration, I learn much quicker with the show me method{Feel-good-000200BB}{Feel-good-00020069}
Hey Trever, Sassy looks great. Dropping food does happen with greys, they have preferences just like you and me. Make sure you wash her fresh fruits and vegetables just like you would for yourself. What else have you learned from her. Any new words you can share?
How about sprinkling a few drops of water over his back and wings like rainwater would come down. Maybe that would help him to be able to preen some. I know its hard to wait but if sprinkling doesn't help and you don't have a large drinking container up high were he is sitting that he can toss water with, maybe you'll just have to wait until he is more comfortable with his new home. Good luck Pat, I know how hard it can be to want to help but cannot.
Hope Gryphon is feeling much better, he's probably just taking things easy after his unexpected landing.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/29 07:03
Hey Pat, glad to hear you and Gizmo got home safely. Can't wait to see some great pictures and hear about how it is going with your growing FID family.:silly:
Hey Mareee being in the Peace Corps is a very noble thing to do, I commend you. Your home looks so cute and the weather looks great (I'm from Washington State and it rains here all the time). I was reading about palm nuts and how parrots in the wild really love them and they are great for protein for birds, since you are in Guinea and food is hard to find I think giving your grey palm nuts is a good and nutritious thing. Since you can't refrigerate, how about sealing them in a clean dry container, perhaps they would keep longer then. Good luck and please keep in touch when you can.
Hi Michelle, welcome to you and Ruby. We are so glad you could join us. If you have any pictures of Ruby you would like to share, we would really love to see them.:silly:
Looks like she doesn't like your decor. Perhaps she was an interior decorator in another life!!! Probably thinks you need more light in the room.:laugh: Thanks for sharing your pictures, good luck with a solution.
Can't wait to see more pictures. How exciting all this must be for you. You are so lucky to have such a great pair of parents for your new babies. Don't get so busy you forget about your forum family now, we want to know everything!!!:silly:
Christian, Gatiep is such a good looking grey. How cute he looks when he is sleeping. You have done a great job with him. How is his talking going, I can't wait to hear what his first words are.:cheer:
I hope you find the answers so you can put your mind to rest. We'll look forward to hearing from you. Promise now, you won't be a stranger. Good luck in your quest.:kiss:
Thanks for sharing your video and I really do love this net and plan to get one. I appreciate all the ideas people have to hang them. I only wish I was as clever.:silly:
