  1. I'm as excited for you as you are. Remember to take it slow don't tire Sassy out. Go at Sassy's pace and have fun.:silly:
  2. Well, Trever, I think you have a real winner on your hands. I'm delighted for you and think Sassy probably has a lot of surprises in store for you. Have fun and keep us posted on what you learn from you new friend. Sassy is a real sweetheart. Can't wait to see some pictures. :silly:
  3. Sounds like you have a very smart grey. How old is Cosmo and how long have you had him? Where did you include the picture of his cage; I must of missed it. I'm certainly glad you and Cosmo have joined us, I cannot wait to hear more of Cosmo's antics.:silly:
  4. Hi Trever, sounds like you have a great present for your mom. Does she live close to you? I understand that you need to be patient and not push to hard on getting your grey to interact with you. You should let Sassy let you know when things should be done. Watch her body language. See if she will come out of her cage on her own. Talk to her quietly. Since you know the people who had Sassy maybe they can tell you a little more about her. You say she was a pet so she probably knows how to step up. Just give her time she is probably anxious and a little nervous. Read some of the posts concerning step up commands. Just relax and take things slowly and patiently.
  5. Kiko is certainly a great looking grey. Take things slow until she is comfortable in her new surroundings. Watch her body language and she'll let you know when she is ready to move forward. Looks like she came from a loving environment and won't take long at all to adjust. Thanks for sharing her picture.
  6. I'm so sorry Ben. Are you having an autopsy done to see what happened? Although it won't bring you friend back at least you would definitely know what happened. Please know how very sorry I am that this happened. I hope you will remain our friend.
  7. I understand vinegar and water is a good safe cleaner around birds. It is what I would use too.
  8. In my area some pet stores will board birds for owners. Also veterinarians will also board birds and animals. I would check them out in your area to see if California also has this policy. Sounds like you love your grey very much. I wish you luck on finding an apartment and job that will let you continue to care for Smokey.
  9. Great news Scott. Kiko sounds like a jewel. Kudos to you for choosing an older grey. I am delighted the bird mart was a joyful adventure for you. Were you able to get any background on Kiko that information is always interesting to know. Can't wait to see those pictures!!!
  10. I am so happy that you have decided to give Pumpkin a home. Sounds like she wanted to be a member of your family very much. Pictures please if you have any you would like to share. We so love pictures!!!
  11. I believe it was Lisa. Just search "Tango's First Clip".

  13. How exciting for you Jen. I am so jealous. What a joyous thing. Please keep us posted every step of the way. You are the envy of the forum. Thanks for sharing this great event with us!!!
  14. What was the brand your breeder was giving her? I would continue with the brand she was weaned on if she was my grey and work from there. Good luck with your sweet baby. Congratulation on the step up command that's fantastic!!!
  15. How exciting for both of you. It's always great to know when you are appreciated. Tyco and Pat sitting in a tree ...! Congralutions of this wonderful milestone.:cheer:
  16. A man holding a parrot came running and screaming into a veterinarian's office. The vet immediately brought the man and his parrot into an examining room and carefully examined the parrot. Then he sadly told the man, "I'm sorry, but this parrot is dead." The man cried, "No, No, that can't be true, I want another opinion." The vet thought a second and said, "okay," and left for the back office. He returned with a Black Labrador Retriever. The Lab sniffed the bird and let out a low "woof." The vet told the man, "The dog thinks the parrot is dead too." "I don't believe it! I want another opinion," cried the man. The vet shrugged his shoulders, left and came back with a cat. He placed the cat on the examination table. The cat walked over to the parrot and sniffed and nudged it and finally walked away from the parrot. The vet said, "The cat thinks it's dead too." The man signed and said, "I guess your're right. How much do I owe you?" The vet said, "That will be $600." The man was horrified and said,"$600, just to tell me my parrot is dead?" That's ridiculous! That's outrageous!" The vet then said,"Well I was going to charge you $50 but then I had to include the LAB fee and the CAT scan."<br><br>Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/27 06:05

  22. I personally miss Elvis Presley and plan on having my baby tag listen to Love Me Tender at bedtime until he sings like Elvis!! Thanks for sharing this, I love to listen to greys singing.
  23. It's great to hear that all is going well on the home front for Indi and Woody.
  24. Hi there, I was just reading a post by Hrund about her bird Nokkvi who she has been slowing integrating into her family. You should read some of those posts, they might help you decide on whether you want to take on this challenge. Check some of the other posts about older greys that have successfully found new homes; and good luck on your decision.
  25. Beautiful shots of Tui. I too love that Java tree. Have you tried moving some of the toys around to see if Tui would like a different limb better? Just a thought she looks kind of forlorn sitting there. Where is the tree in the living area. Maybe she would like to be closer to where you are? Just throwing thoughts out there trying to help. :silly: She is such a lovely grey!!!
