If your grey is doing something unacceptable you should correct him. If he is biting buttons, then say no and move him or offer something else more acceptable. If he is biting fingers tell him no and offer him an arm to sit on. Correction has nothing to do with trust if done in a kind and unhurtful way. If you allow something sometimes and not at others it just confuses our greys. It should be all the time or nothing at all. Ana Grey loves my shoulder but she loves to nibble my ears or preen my hair so I just flick her off and tell her "no, get off". She is flighted so this just sends her on her way. I am allergic to pain so anything Ana Grey does that could be painful to me is unacceptable.
Time for a new game so let's play "What Irks Me Most." I'll start.
What irks me most is: When I'm in a restaurant and someone blows their nose at the table next to me!
LOL, very cute for Sunny, anyway. I have a picture like that of Ana Grey and Lily, come to think of it Lily's expression is just about the same as Valentino!!! LOL
Time for some good things going your way Kim, be positive and you will be rewarded. On the bright side perhaps you will find some time to post about Dayo, I do so love to hear about this intelligent grey. And perhaps we can get the skinny on Dan!!! (hint, hint) Good thoughts coming your family's way.
It certainly sounds like Georgia is settling in well and getting use to you!!!! My Ana Grey seems to love her boings as well. I have also hung long wooden perches from the windows so my fids can swing and look outside at their leisure.
I have a cement perch which is at the back of Ana Grey's cage and it is the highest perch. It is also in the darkest part of her cage (back of her cage is against the wall. This is where she sleeps.
This is great to hear Lee!!! Zoey has come around slowly but surely and she has begun to trust you. Congratulations, you must be ecstatic!!!! I can't wait to hear more!!
Be patient and give him some space. Just like people our greys/animals need time to contemplate and regroup. Patience and time are what your grey needs. So back off and both of you regroup.
Welcome to the Grey family! Well the last picture was taken in March 2010 so that picture is more than 4 months old by just a tad. Laddu is a fine looking grey you should be very proud of him. I look forward to hearing more about him.
