Great pictures of Cobi and your fish!!!! I also live alone and so it is only me that Ana Grey usually interacts with. When I talk to her, I talk to her like a person. "want some apple", "nite, nite", "stop that" as examples and she picks up on the meanings. And she does know what words mean. When I sing, she always says now, "STOP THAT" do you think she is trying to tell me something!!!!!

Like others I have swings, boings and branches throughout my home with foraging toys and food containers everywhere. All my parrots are flighted, including old Sully, and they just go where they want. Ana Grey just everywhere, Louie from the birdroom to my office and Sully from birdroom, living room and office. I don't chase the little demons, but if I call Ana Grey she will come. She and Louie have an everyday battle going on and Sully flies off just to escape their silliness. Because I am home they are out of their cages all day and go back on que at 6/7 pm.

Congratulations on bringing your baby home. Can't wait to see some pictures and hear more about Spencer. As for nibbling or beaking. When I first got Ana Grey and if she was less than gentle, I would just say, "owie" and tell her to "be nice, be gentle" and stroke her gently on her head or beak. She learned that owie mean she had hurt me and "be nice, be gentle" mean to be nice/gentle. Just find words or gestures that relate a meaning or feeling. They learn very quickly if you are persistent and consistent.

I want Louie to forget his Hindi, as I don't understand it as he speaks very high and fast. He is picking up English he says: Hello, nite nite, stop that, and No very well. He did come out of the birdroom yesterday and fly up to the top of the boing by my desk so he is getting very comfortable in my home. He has lots of toys as I truly thought Ana Grey was going to be larger than she is (she is only 294 g) so there are a lot of big toys for him to play with that Ana Grey ignores. Sully and Louie are about the same size so I have two big guys!!!!

Ana Grey doesn't play with her toys all that much either. I don't worry about it as she is always into something or pestering one of my other fids. When she does play with her toys, she usually chews them all to pieces!!!!

Yes Ana Grey is a very jealous little lady. Louie just thinks she is a nuisance!!!!! And, of course, Sully just wants them both to grow up!!!!

Kathleen, I feel your loss and I pray for sweet Jimmy. Please take solace in the fact that Jimmy didn't suffer and was happy and carefree within your home. You truly will meet again and each time you think of Jimmy you can smile and know he loved you and Sebastian and he knew your love and now he fly free waiting for you to come home with him. I am 64 and didn't get my grey until I was 62 and she was 4 months old. I don't regret it and know she will be loved by my 21 year old grandson when I go as all arrangements are in place for this to happen, just in case. If you choose to provide a loving home for another grey, please do so, the joy you bring to each other nothing can replace; and it is a perfect way to honor the memory of sweet Jimmy.
