  1. Dayo was probably remembering his pterodactyl days and was thinking the crane was one of them thar Dinosaurs!!!!! Thank goodness you were there for him!!!
  2. Just to cute!!!!!! I need to try to get something like that going here. Louie, the Zon, would love it!!!!!
  3. Oh our rambunctious amazons. Louie does not get his tail feathers all a mess, but he certainly loves to get into everything. He looses a beautiful feather about every other day and he is ringing and clanging every metal or toy in the bird room that has a clapper or a clanger! Love those amazons!!!!
  4. Oh you should just relax and let your new grey settle in. Just talk to Timmy as you would to another person. Tell him what you are doing and relax. Timmy can sense your anxiety so you must relax so he can feel comfortable. Oh by the way, welcome to the Grey family!!!
  5. I can't wait to see Issac and his acrobatics. He must look very cute. What a smarty pants he is!!!
  6. Opps, I didn't go back far enough into the pictures!!!!!!
  7. Great pictures Sanggay, thanks for sharing them!!!!! Judy, that is a male eclectus. Like my Sully!
  8. I have one of those climbing nets for my birds. I also got one that was way too large and have considered cutting it in half. Ana Grey does enjoy it as it is in front of one of the windows and she does love to see outside.
  9. Way to go Harvey, you keep old Jill in line!!!!! Can't wait to see your Avatar, Jill, when you get around to putting one up (hint, hint)!!!!!!
  10. No one said how the grey is doing in his new forever home. I have a feeling he is quite happy in his role as mascot/friend to so many children. Speaking of children, when a parent makes a conscience and free releasing of parental rights in the future that parent can only hope the child, all grown up will let the birth parent into his/her life on his/her own terms. What happens if this guy wants to go back to Italy again?????
  11. Oh this is so sad to hear. But now you understand the conflicts Marcus is going through and you can deal with them in a loving and understanding way. He is a very intelligent grey and has found a way to express his problem and conflict with you. Talk to Marcus and let him know you understand and I know the two of you will be able to work this predicament out. Marcus wants to cooperate, it is up to you to figure out how to help him overcome his fears. I look forward to hearing good things about Marcus and his new and loving parront!!!
  12. Hey Jill, can't wait to hear how Harvey has been doing and what you've been up to lately. I'll bet his vocabulary has grown in leaps and bounds!!!
  13. Great looking cage. Cody looks great!!!!
  14. Hi bodnar19, what is your grey's name? I would give your new grey a little more time to get use to you and your family. If she is caling your name she must like you. Is she trying to bite you or just touch your hand so she can get her balance and to see if your hand is steady? Why don't you just sit and talk to her and let your grey come to you when she is ready to trust you.
  15. Well I lived in California until I was 19!!!!! It was and still is hot, hot, hot!!!!
  16. Thanks Judy, a friend I went to first grade with sent it to me so I thought I would share it with Greyforums!!
  17. Before you click on the site, read.......sound on! http://yeli.us/Flash/Fire.html If you don't do anything else the rest of the day, do yourself a favor now and just watch/listen to this totally awesome video. Read the stuff first so you can tell what's going on..... It's awesome! This song and its title was the answer to one question of Final Jeopardy -- only one person got it right. Question was (paraphrased): "What 1980's song do history teachers praise for its educational value?" I never could understand all the references on Billy Joel's song -- fortunately, with this VIDEO, given the pictures, now I can "see" what my "ears" couldn't. Apparently, it's Joel's homage to the 40-years of historical headlines since his birth (1949). WAY TOO COOL -- wish I could have appreciated the depths of this song when it was released. Twenty years later, I'm in awe of what Joel was able to put into music and lyrics lasting only a few minutes. Whether you are a Billy Joel fan or not, you probably remember his great song, 'We Didn't Start the Fire.' Here it is, set to pictures... Very, very cool. Had to share this one. It's a neat flashback through the past half century. I never did know the words. Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy a review of 50 years of history in less than 3 minutes! Thanks to Billy Joel and some guy from the University of Chicago with a lot of spare time and Google. Top left gives you full screen....top right lets you pause. Bottom left shows the year. The older you are, the more pictures you will recognize. Anyone over age 65 should remember over 90% of what they see. But it's great at any age.
  18. Glad to hear that Cody is A-Okay. I like the squatters perch you purchased for him. I look forward to hearing more about your sweet little guy!!!!
  19. Happy that you and Dorian have worked out the solution of his plucking. I also have a plucker, an ekkie, who is only happy in a smaller cage. I got him a larger cage when I brought him him from the pet shop and every change he got he would quickly walk to his travel cage and climb in. When I got my Zon I give the Zon my ekkie's larger cage and bought Sully a smaller cage and Sully is happy as a clam in his more compact cage, go figure. You are a great parront Kevin to understand Dorian so well and to make things right in his world. Congratulations on your foresight!!!!!
  20. Happy, happy, happy that a solution has been found!!!!!!!
  21. If the door doesn't help, another solution is also to heat the separate building/room outside. Then there is ample quiet time and warm space for your husband.
  22. Congratulations to Kaleah for a successful vet check!!!! Good girl!!! See you worried for naught!!!!
  23. My grey gets more vocal when I am on the telephone also. In your husband's case, is he on the phone whenever someone calls or is there a set time he has set aside for telephone calls, i.e., he is making the calls? Is Chili's cage in the same room as your husband's office? Since everyone is home, why can't your oldest son remove Chilli from the area and distract him? Without knowing all the circumstances, it is hard to give solutions that might work.
  24. Awww they are so adorable!!!! I also have a three-month premature grandson, Lil Dino, was 2 lbs. 10 ozs. at birth. He is 16 months old now and quite handsome. And full of energy and love. The things they can do with technology and medicine now a days.
