John when you play with Gracie, stay away from her tail/bum and her wings. When I tickle my grey, I only rub/pet her feet (it is always good to be able to handle your grey's feet in case they need some foot care) and scratch the top of her head and under her chin. Never for very long. If Gracie gets rough tell her to "be gentle" (I say this to Ana Grey as I gently stroke her and she understands what gentle means). If Gracie won't calm down, stop playing for a while and just talk to her.

I'll have to watch my birds more as I don't remember them shaking their heads all the time. Perhaps you got water in an ear when you sprayed or bathed your bird. I would definitely ask your bird's vet by phone or as soon as you see him.

Oh congratulations on your new baby TAG, Crystal!!!!! Have you been able to go visit and choose the one for you? I hung around here for two months before my Ana Grey came home and learned a lot. My birds are very watchful of all birds flying over head. Whenever I see them look up at the sky, I know that a hawk or other hovering bird is close by. And let's not even talk about crows, it took all fall/winter for Ana Grey to stop cawing like a crow last year, we don't even want to think about going there again!!!!!!

When I brought my TAG home at 16 weeks, she was use to many different foods. Her Breeder introduced many different foods and always keeps her babies until they have been eating only food, other than formula, at least a week if not more. Mille sent me home with oodles of pellets and foods as well as a packet of all kind of information about her greys. The best information you can get about your baby grey is its breeder. I find that a really caring and loving breeder will talk your ear off about greys if you let them. I still talk to Ana Grey's breeder even though she is over 75 years old and is a retired grey breeder. I have had Ana Grey for 2 1/2 years and has been a real joy as she was already well socialized before I even met her.

My birds are out all day. Well Ana Grey and Louie anyway. Sully prefers a cage and if he leaves his large cage he will go to a travel cage in another room. He is niot a bird who likes to play so he usually poops in one spot in his cage(s). Ana Grey's poops are under her sleeping perch and Louie's are the same. So Ana Grey and Louie prefer to poop outside their cages. Ana Grey never poops on me but will on the back of my typing chair, little stinker.

Ana Grey loves Nacho chips and potato chips. Luckily there are now lightly salted potato chips or she would have to do without!
