  1. I keep some of my parrots feathers. If my parrots should get lost, I would use them to identify my babies if need be.
  2. Happy Day for you Rikki. I love to hear beginning stories of our greys. Thanks for this insight Talon. Rikki rocks!
  3. My greys were weaned babies when I got them and they are now microchipped. I can prove they are mine without a doubt.
  4. Very nice Intro Devin. Looking forward to hearing and learning more about Yoshi and Korra. Welcome to the Grey family!
  5. Way to go Gramma Mimi. What a beautiful woman and so much great history.
  6. My greys aviary is attached to one of my extra rooms and my birds go in and out through the window. I love it as it is easy to let them in and outside. The outside door is double so that I can go inside into a small area and then through to the aviary and my critters are safe from escape as they are fully flighted.
  7. I am an advocator of microchipping our parrots. Both of my greys of chipped and it gives me oodles of peace of mind. It does not bother them in any way and they have been chipped since their first vet visits when I adopted each of them. Ana Grey is 7 and Sterling Gris 4.
  8. My favorite word "flying" I love to hear that a member's parrot is flighted. My Ana Grey loves to hide from me. She will not answer me when I call, she makes me find her. Little brat!!!!
  9. Hi Becky. Welcome to the Grey family. Looking forward to learning more about Peanut.
  10. This is very heartbreaking. A fire or other disaster is my biggest fear and I have planned for it. I have an attached aviary to my birdroom. If there is a fire or other emergency, I can open the window and get the birds outside into the aviary quickly.
  11. In Washington State you can use fireworks just like the "big" boys and so around this little country town of Washougal, a week before and about week after there are big loud fireworks going off. Very annoying from 8 pm to 2 am around here from July 1 to July 8. They always talk about making it law to ban so we will see this year what happens. I just play the radio where the birds are and darken the room so the gang will feel safe. After about 6 years of this my birds are more calm.
  12. It's nice to hear a little about Corky, Ray. Would love to hear more and see some updated pictures!!!!!
  13. I have to greys, a TAG, 6 years old and a CAG, 4 years old. I have had them both since weaning. They are not friends and do not bond or even talk to each other. When the CAG was younger the TAG "mothered" him but now that he is older forget about it. They do not fight and the CAG will follow the TAG for room to room. My TAG, the female and older is the boss. She is much smaller than my monsterous CAG.
  14. I believe US birds cannot travel around, if they leave they don't get to come back.
  15. Perhaps one of the minds of Greyforms can get a group organized and members can go together. Hint, hint!!!
  16. Seems like a happy little guy to me. Spins around to show his joy and he seems very comfortable to me. Enjoy. Would love to see some video/pictures of this little love ball. My male CAG, raises his wings and draws them up and down for me when I ask him if he wants out of his cage. He is then a very spirited guy.
  17. Hi jaybeeayyy, Isaiah is quite handsome. Looking forward to getting to know him. Welcome to the Grey family!!!!!
  18. I have raised my voice at my parrots, of course. Sterling Gris raises his back at me. "Open the door, I want to come out, HELLO". He is very good at it and can be quite loud at it. I believe our parrots know how to let us know what pisses them off, just like us.
  19. Frankly, I have not purchased parrot toys in a long time. My parrots are not really toy players. They prefer to talk and fly around when out. And just jabber away when in their cages. I keep them in the living room with me and my TV.
  20. Everyone knows how much you love Issac. All you have to do is read your thread and it is obvious. Issac loves you. That's is also obvious. If I am not mistaken this all started when you became ill and were not at home for a spell. Issac was afraid for you at that time and it has I believe affected him. I am assuming you talk to Issac all the time so I am assuming he knows how you feel about this new event. Well Issac feels your distress. So relax and breathe. Forget about the plucking and go about the day as if all is fine. I am assuming that an avian vet has told you Issac is fine so just relax so that Issac can relax. My greys sense my feelings so I know Issac senses yours. Go back to when all was calm with you with Issac's looks so he can calm down too. You are getting discouraged; it is so obvious in your thread. Issac senses this. Love Issac for who he is.
  21. Thanks Dave. It is important to use our rooms as designated so a panicked grey parront quickly knows that health answers are in the Health Room. Food questions in the Food Room. Baby bird questions in the Nursery Room.
  22. Great video of Rikki. We all need a "grown up" bird in the mix!!! Very beautiful lady!!!!
  23. Love the zons! Such an individual personality. Nilah is always a character and very amusing!!!!
  24. Must be quite yummy!!!! Great action video. Go Talon!!
  25. This is a theme I looked into years ago. My youngest daughter wants to take Sterling Gris. My brother will be taking my Ana Grey. My oldest daughter will be taking my canary, Moe Joe.
