  1. Welcome to the GreyForums Family Giannine. Do you like Timneh or Congo Greys? I have both and they are both wonderful greys with such different personalities. Looking forward to hearing more about you and your adventure in to the African Grey world.
  2. Enjoyed the flock picture. Quite a flock of greys. I only have two so I can imagine the antics that must go on in your home.
  3. Looking to learning about any parrots you might have. Details please. Welcome to the forum!
  4. Hi Mark, great advice from Dave007 (I've nicknamed him "Dr. Flock" because he has had greys forever and is very knowledgeable) Anyhow, greys have different personalities. I have an 8 year old female, Ana Grey, and a 6 year old male, Sterling Gris. Both I got when first weaned (babies). Ana Grey is very confident and only talks when she is inclines. She is very friendly and in charge. Now, Sterling Gris is more cautious and very talkative. He repeats just everything. I live alone and both have only been with me. Personalities very different. I suggest you talk to your new friend and let him/her know what you are doing so he/she gets comfortable. My greys were sexed by their avian vet when I had them microchipped so they can be returned to me if the finder is so inclined. Both greys are flighted as I believe wings are for flying not butchering. Just relax and enjoy.
  5. Sorry to hear that you think your grey is "too" loud/noisey.
  6. The only problem I have with my greys when getting them to bed is that once I ask them to step up they fly around and then back to their room/cages to be put inside. I believe they just want to release all the extra energy before being locked up. Routines. greys love routines.
  7. Hi Maash, welcome to the Greyforum family. Looking forward to learning more about Rio. Rio is a very fine looking CAG.
  8. Issac is always a joy to hear or watch. Thanks for sharing.
  9. I find that if I darken a room a nervous bird will calm down because it believes it is nighttime. Just darken the room and see if that helps get your bird into a carrier/cage. Talk calmly and being self-assured will also be an asset.
  10. I'm all for taking your grey to an avian veterinarian to ease your mind about any health issue. Looking forward to hearing more about your new friend.
  11. You should take your new greys to a avian veterinarian if you have any questions about your greys' health. We are not avian veterinarians here. Looking forward to hearing how things go. Welcome to the Grey Forum family.
  12. I first acquired my Timneh, Ana Grey (2008), and about a year later got my Congo, Sterling Gris. My greys do not interact at all. They are not interested in each other at all. They do not communicate at all. When Sterling Gris first came to live with us, Ana Grey would feed the baby grey by beak a little but only for a little while and because that was what I was doing; spoon feeding the young grey. If I only has one or the other grey, the other grey wouldn't give a poo.
  13. A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special day a good fairy came to them and said that because they had been so good that each one of them could have one wish. The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband. Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in her hands. The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger... Whoosh...immediately he turned ninety!!! Gotta love that fairy!
  14. And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then He made the world round; and laughed and laughed and laughed...............
  15. OOodles of Happy New Year to all my GreyForum friends!!!!! Be safe and have a wonderful time with family and friends, ENJOY!!!!
  16. Kilaya is a joy to listen to dhorje. Have a Happy New Year for all you love and all we remember with love.
  17. My aviary is attached to this backroom also.
  18. I have the outdoor cage outside my birdroom window and in case of a fire I can get my parrots and canaries outside in the outside cage very quickly. Gives me oodles of peace of mind as I live alone.
  19. I own guns and know how to use them. All my family are prepared and very safe.
  20. Love to read the first post of this thread every year. Thank you Dave007!!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!! Humans and parrots, EVERYONE ENJOY your family!!!!
  21. My greys, my Timneh, Ana Grey, has never been clipped, she is very confident with flying and does not hit windows. She always sits high up and never near the floor. My CAG was very lightly clipped when I got him and he is also a very strong flyer now. They do not run into the walls or windows and are very confident greys. I never have them out of their cages when others/friends/family are around. My CAG loves to dive bomb people when they are around and my TAG loves to land of people (their heads). My greys are in charge and very confident creatures.
  22. My greys are microchipped so if they do go on an adventure if they are taken to a vet they can be scanned.
  23. Such a naughty little girl. She certainly must keep life busy around your home.
